Description of Work: Kamaul called within 15 minutes of my email. His guy was on-time and courteous for an estimate. I received a written estimate the same night. The moving crew was on time, polite, clean, efficient and really helpful. I would use them again and recommend them.

Description of Work: Rare Moving and Trucking Company were aptly named! It is RARE to find a moving company as wonderful as they were. From the 1st time kamaul came to our home to evaluate our job to the last moment he and his staff left we were impressed. The owner Kamaul and his staff were prompt, efficient and very curteous. Since we had a 4,200 sq.ft. home we were at first hessitant they could handle the size of our move across country. Kamaul assurred us he would move us from Boston to San Diego without a problem and he did everything he said he would and then some. We had them pack us and they wrapped everything extremely well. They marked the outside of every box with exactly what the contents were in each.. This made unpacking very convenient for us as we knew which boxes to open first! We've moved several times in our lives and this was without a doubt the most pleasant, worry free move we have ever experienced. We wouldn't hesitate to have them move us again.

Description of Work: Excellent Service! We moved on a cold and rainy day and the guys were great. We moved from a condo to a storage unit and they were excellent in fitting everything in. Looking forward to using them again for our move to a house.

Description of Work: I was a little concerned when I tried to contact the movers 2 weeks before the move and then again a week before the move with no success. However, the movers turned up on the day at the appointed time. They were not prepared for the fact that I wanted a complete pack and move and not just a move. The movers started the job and immediately contacted the office for both more supplies and more manpower. Both eventually showed up. The moving staff were absolutely terrific! They were very professional and very courteous and it was the best packing I have ever seen and let me tell you I have moved a lot. The move went without a hitch and everything was delivered in tip top shape but it take a lot longer than expected due to the wrong information being passed from the office tot the movers which led to a lot larger bill than expected. After contacting the manager the bill was completely adjusted to my satisfaction. I have never been more pleased.

Description of Work: We hired Rare Movers for our move in June. We had a number of companies out to give us a quote, but went with Rare because they gave us a reasonable quote and had the best policy to guarantee that pests would not be transferred from job to job. We contracted to have them do a partial pack and full move. They did an ok job. They packed our kitchen and did a good job with this, but the other items that were packed were poorly done. We found electronics and other breakables in boxes with no packing materials (paper, wrap, etc.) at all. Also, we found lots of boxes placed in the wrong rooms. And, they went well over the quote (although they did reduce this slightly when we pointed it out) because they brought more men every day than what they had originally indicated they would need. Very nice guys, and I'll admit that we had a big job, but based on the job they did we would not use them again.

Description of Work: Kamaul came to my apartment and gave me a quote which was very close to the final bill of moving my household things from Shrewsbury, MA to Huntsville, AL. His team (Andre, Anthony and Larry) came for the packing and loading which they did meticuluosly and carefully. Andre and Anthony drove the truck to Huntsville and unloaded and unpacked on the same day as I requested. They did a fantastic job, which is rare to see these days. Will definitely recommend Rare movers to anybody who need an honest, careful and fantastic moving company for their moving needs.

Description of Work: Small job of moving furniture from the old part of the house to the new extension. The scheduling person was very responsive with a quick reply and quote. We had reschedule the move once but they were very understanding and promptly rescheduled. The quality of the work was average and the 3 man team with limited experience. They dragged furniture across wooden floors and there some minor scratches on the door frames from contact of bed components (these were small and easily carried through door etc). The pricing was fair and not any less or more than competitors. They offer a $ 100 discount but make up for it with long warehouse to house travel times (50 minutes each way for us from dorchester to south brookline) and a $ 30 'fuel surcharge". Probably would not use again.

Description of Work: From the start my experience was great.Kamaul scheduled my move right away and answered all my questions. I was able to use the Angies List discount.The crew showed up on time and they were fantastic- ( Larry, Royce , and Gabe).We moved two apartments on the 3rd floor to a new home 2nd floor. They were so fast despite having extra items that were not anticipated- and polite and professional.The number one reason that I was so impressed is that they took great care of my treasured items by wrapping them thoroughly so there was no damage- and then they had to bring heavy antiques up a small winding stairway- not a scratch on walls, floors or furniture. That is truly "rare".They worked very hard to make sure that this was done with care. I would definetly use them again and would not hesitate to recommend this company.Thank you , Rare Moving , for doing it right !
