James was great. He came over super quick, despite the fact that we called him late in the afternoon on a holiday (Labor Day). He immediately pinpointed the problem and had us back up and running in a short time. He also explained what he did and how, if we experienced the same problem in the future, we could fix it on our own. One of the breakers had blown. So even when we flipped it to the on position and it stayed in that position, the power wouldn't come back on.

I could never get this highly rated company to show up. After emailing the job description and replying with a request for my availability, I never heard back from them. I told the company they did not have to go to the additional step of estimating, I would just schedule the work anytime they could come. I followed up by email and phone without any response. This company was recently featured in the magazine as one of the best. I relied on that information in making the selection. Companies that do not even return numerous calls should not be rated for only the jobs they perform.

He did show up on time. The outlets were able to be installed exactly where I wanted them. It took him about 1 hour. They charged me by the job and it was $60 per outlet. I called other places and they went by the hour. This guy knew what he was doing. Everything got done with ease and there were no problems.

James and his partner were truly excellent. They responded quickly to my phone call requesting an estimate, and sent the estimate a few days later via email. They were then able to start the work about 1 week later. The work itself took them 3 full days. James and his partner were exceptionally courteous and accommodating, and I would without hesitation recommend them to anyone. We will certainly use them for our next electrical project. In addition, they were about 1/3 the price of another electrician who quoted the work. Lastly, the cost of the project matched their estimate exactly, even though they encountered a few snags due to our old triple decker's wiring and structure.

The approximate cost for $285 was when he put in outdoor lights, fixed an inside outlet, and hooked up the TV into a different room. He is a very nice young man who is very knowledgeable. One time in particular the only thing he had to do to fix an appliance was to push a button, he didn't even charge us for that which is much appreciated! When he came to install the lights outside it was a very cold day and he had to get on our roof; we told him he could come another day but he insisted on doing the work for us then!

Great. Mr. Carlton did an excellent job. He was courteous on the phone and always prompt. The work ended up being a little more complicated than expected (we had to drill a small hole in a neighbor's wall). Mr. Carlton was very clean and did an excellent patch job on the neighbor's wall. The ultimate cost was a little higher than the initial estimate, but even then it was still lower than the dozen other estimates I received. I would highly recommend this electrician and would use him again.

James was fantastic. He responded to my request quickly, and we had the work scheduled and finished within a week of my emailing him. He was also very helpful in telling me exactly what kind of thermostats to buy and where to find them. He even called the carrier to find out if they were in stock! When the work was done, it was performed on time, in a friendly manner and the area was left clean. I'll definitely be calling him again for additional electrical work that I am considering having done in my condo.

They were terrific. First, James Carleton came by to see what needed to be done and give us an estimate. He showed up on time, was polite and thorough, and got us the estimate when he said he would. Then, on the day we scheduled for installation, he and two workmen showed up exactly when he said they would, asked a few questions here and there, and went right to work. Everything was installed exactly as promised within a few hours, they cleaned up after themselves, remained friendly when pounced on by our dogs, and everything they worked on works perfectly. I would hire them again anytime.

Our experience with Jim was a positive one. Jim came to our house to do an estimate and look at our situation. We attempted to schedule the time with him right then, but he didn't have his schedule with him at the time. It took us a little over a week to finally get him to our house to do the job as other jobs got in the way, but Jim always let us know in advance when he had to change an appointment. Jim completed the job quickly and for about $50 less than his initial estimate.

Fantastic! I was very pleased with this company. James called to tell me he was running late. When he arrived, he and his partner went immediately to work and didn't stop until they were done. Then he wrote up a detailed invoice of everything he had done. There was one remaining item left that I was going to do myself. When I couldn't, I asked James if he could come back and he was there the following evening to fix it. I couldn't have been happier with the service.

I had a very nice email exchange with a promise to come by for an estimate, then no more contact. Disappointing.

They arrived on time, were very professional and polite, and finished the job within 90 minutes. They also explained why the overhead recessed lights weren't working properly. (We were using compact fluorescent floods, but the dimmer is designed to work only with incandescent lights.) They are the best!

This is at least the third time I've used James' services. He responded promptly to my initial call. The work was done within a week. He is neat, efficient and his work is always first rate.

They returned our first call right away. We set up a visit which I forgot about because of a pet emergency. After that it took a while to connect and get our schedules coordinated. We finally were able to set up an appointment. They arrived on time, were polite and spent time explaining things to us. They cleaned up everything, but did leave a couple of tools behind that had been laid on a table. They haven't picked them up yet. They said they will call when they are going to be in the area again.

This was a big job...primarily because the house is 120 years old and had a very old system. The 2 units had to be completely separated and alot of the wires were mixed (meaning one circuit controlled outlets/lights in more than one floor). He also had to find and separate the public lights. Jim and his associate did a fantastic job.... Jim was always on the job site but did need help at times. It seemed there was always another problem arising with this project but Jim was never fazed and always handled things with a professional manner and humor. He is always reachable by cell phone and calls back within a reasonable time. He handled all the permits and inspections. I felt very comfortable leaving a key for him to work in my home when I wasn't there. We ended up having to pay out another 1000.00 to split up the smoke detectors but that was due to the town rules about condos and smokes. Overall a very excellent experience!

James and Mike were great. Arrived on time, high quality work, very honest and professional. Great communication from bid to scheduling work.

I didn't get in touch with them. I called three times in four days and left two voice messages. Carleton never got back to me.

Came within 20 minutes of my call. Explained the problem, fixed it quickly and did a second job on schedule as promised. Called City Inspector to save me the trouble.

JAMES WAS ALWAYS PROMPT RETURNING PHONE CALLS. HE STARTED THE JOB ON TIME AND WORKED CONTINUOUSLY UNTIL WORK WAS FINISHED. SUPER JOB.

James, the electrician, was very pleasant, professional, and neat. I'm pleased to have someone local who will come in a timely manner.

Jim was prompt and courteous and explained what he found and fixed and what he couldn't fix because it was an installation issue. I plan to use him in the future to rewire some bad work done by a previous contractor and to wire our garden being renovated.

Even though I did not hire James Carleton, I wanted everyone to know how impressed I was with James punctuality, thoroughness, honesty and good price.

James was great! He was early for our appointment, was very professional and helpful. I asked him about a small item I had been unable to locate in the hardware store and he offered to check his electrical supply store and get back to me. The job I needed his help with was a very small one, but he has impressed me as someone I would definitely call again and recommend to my friends.

James did an excellent job--very speedy. He was reasonably priced, extremely polite and conscientious. We didn't hesitate to call him up again when we needed something else done at our old house!

COULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM MORE HIGHLY. PRICE WAS HIGHER THAN WE EXPECTED ON ONE OCCASION, AND HE WANTED US TO BE HAPPY SO ALL HE CHARGED US FOR WAS PARTS. ANOTHER TIME CAME OUT ON A SUNDAY TO HELP A 9 MONTH PREGNANT WOMAN HOOK UP HER PHONE.
