The service tech worked very efficiently and cleaned up the old wiring to make it safe and then installed a new box for the fan/light combination. He did everything in 2 hours. I am very satisfied with the job and will use them again when needed. Thank you Angies List.

I can remotely lower a chandelier from a high ceiling down to the floor for cleaning. The job came out perfect. Ran control wiring from the lift kit to the attic to a new wall switch on the first floor to mount and snake the cabling into the box. He is my go to electrician.

The workers were about 45 minutes late, but they called to tell me they would. Due to constuction in the area, they had a tough time finding parking, but did manage to park. They showed up with the proper supplies, had drop clothes and even wore booties to avoid scratching the hardwood floors. They went right to work The cut out for the box was position the wrong way, but James made a quick cut in the ceiling, re positioned the box and did a great job masking the opening cause by the original cut out. They finished the job in an hour, cleaned up everything. James Carlton Electrical exemplified is what service should be. Professional, friendly, communicative. James initially came out to price the job, evaluate the surrounding, and determine what would be needed. James provided a detailed estimate. We had a little back and forth, but the date was set within a week or so. James, and his team, Paul and Garrett demonstrated knowledge and competence. Thank you.

The electrician arrived promptly and finished in a reasonable amount of time. I was very pleased with the results, and especially pleased about how little mess he made. He cleaned up perfectly and fans look and work great. Will definitely use him for all my electric issues in future.

The service was fantastic. Originally they were scheduled to come on a weekday and I would have to take time off from work. They called on a weekend to see if I were available and they were able to compete the service without any additional cost. I was so pleased with their professionalism, explanation, the cost and yes,,,they cleaned up after themselves. In addition, since I have an old home they pointed out some upgrades needed but did not pressure me to commit to their service in the future .Absolutely, I would use Carleton Electricians in the future. ;-)

The experience with Carleton was first class all the way. They were prompt from my original outreach for service. They tried to be flexible with timing of the appointment. They showed up within 2 days (would have been 1 day if I responded quick enough) and the service was great. Gareth was a true pro, patiently answered all my questions (and taught me a thing or two about how the outlets and reset switches work), quickly identified the problem and fixed it within an hour including a trip for supplies. I can't recommend Carleton enough based upon my experience.

James was very professional when giving an estimate as well as explaining the process of the work to be done On time,cleaned up after the job. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to someone else

Our kitchen track lighting was out. Jim came over, fixed it and made some additional recommendations for other lights (on dimmers) in our house. After he left, the track lighting stopped working again (apparently a piece melted, which was the original problem). A member of Jim's team (Oliver) came back, installed the new fixture at no charge and did a perfect job. Customer service and electrical work were really top notch. I recommend this company and will certainly use them again. There was a small hiccup in communication, as the website cannot receive messages, but Jim was very responsive by phone and even followed up to be sure I was happy with the final product.

Quality work, fair prices, honest and trustworthy. You you have an electrician you have to be able to trust him to make sure he is doing the job right.

This is an old house, and he had to use experience and ingenuity to affix them. I was satisfied with his work. My only complaint is that he charged for his travel time. When I called him about the job, he did not tell me about this charge. I do not think this is an appropriate charge.

James and his team are the utmost professionals. They are extremely clean and genuinely take pride in their work. He is not the cheapest guy out there but for the quality of work he does his pricing is more than fair.

Jim and his crew are the ultimate professionals. Jim came by and gave us a quote and his invoices were consistent with the quote. The crew worked hard all day setting up lights and handling all the plugs and switches. If the crew had any questions, they touched base with us throughout the day; so we were all on the same page. Jim and his crew are knowledgable, polite and conscientious. We are having Jim back to do more work and consider that we have found ourselves a great electrician.

I've been experiencing inconsistent heat issue for last few days (when it was super cold). A plumber initially handled and told me that it was a thermostat - even though it was only a month old. After so much of run-around-phone-calls, I found Jim on Angie's List. I initially left a message and he called me back immediately & made an appointment for the next day. He has addressed all he could do from his expertise point, but my 'inconsistency' issue still remained - so he referred me to a HVAC person who came over the same afternoon & resolved the issue for me. I very much appreciated Jim's professionalism and courtesy, as well as giving a reference so that I can resolve the issue for good. I'd definitely will use him again if any issue arises in the future.

I couldn't be happier with the service provided by this company. James was incredibly responsive and had his team on the job the same day I contacted them...a real blessing after all the problems I have had with my contractor. Garth and Paul did an exceptional job and were a joy to have in my home...even my little Chihuahua loved them! They were professional, conscientious, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. I will definitely have them back and I would recommend them to anyone.

I contacted James because of all the great reviews on AngiesLIst. We had to reschedule the first appointment because of a boiler emergency at a school--he let me know well in advance, so no problem. James showed up on time to our rescheduled appointment, was very thorough in his exploration of both jobs. He seemed professional and personable. I would probably have hired him, but I never received his estimates. I even followed up with him a week later to see if they were forthcoming, he responded that they were, but I never got anything. Disappointing, but I'm glad the economy is coming back to the extent that people are too busy to get back to everyone. Conclusion: had a positive impression of James. Would have hired if he had sent an estimate.
