I don't have issues at the moment but I've had them many times. We had a power outage in the city area. When the power came back on again, we lost our television. That was the crisis. The internet service and phone service was fine but she lost her television. The issue wasn't with the service person that I finally got to talk to in the phone but getting to that person is the problem. It's a nightmare. I called the number that they gave me and it just gave me the whole read-out of my bill, when it's paid last and how much I owe. They go a whole litany of different things and I have to give them my account number, my address, age and all personal information again. Then, they send me to somebody else. Finally, after I hit zero for numerous times, they'll say they'll transfer me to an operator. I have to wait for 10 - 20 minutes to get to an operator. It's an absolute nightmare. The woman I talked to on the phone said "I think I could solve that thing momentarily if you want to go with it." I said "Just tell me what to do." She said "Unplug your television box from the wall outlet. Wait 20 seconds and plug it back in." It was up and running. It took less than a minute to cure it but it took almost an hour to get somebody to talk to. The woman I talked to was terrific but getting to talk to her is another story.

I like all their stuff in the channels but I think they charge too much money. They came around here after antenna. Before they only had three or four channels. Cable you have lots of channels. I like companies that are cheaper, but they are all different channels. I only have TV with them. I have three cable boxes. I have a major box, I had that one first, that's to my flat screen TV. I have two old fashion TVs and they are very small boxes that just gives you the basic channels. There is no charge for those boxes for the basic as long as you have the big box. I like all the channel they have. I can't afford every channel. They are so expensive. I wish they would bring the price down. they are 24 hours, if you have any problems you call them up on the phone.

Horrible. It took over a week to get my cable and internet hooked up. This involved about 3 hours on the phone, a visit to the local Comcast store and two technician visits. Turns out they sent a faulty cable box. Not only that, my internet is about a third the speed I'm paying for. Now, they're trying to charge my for shipping (a faulty box that didn't work) and a full month's service when I had no internet and no cable for over a week. The worst part is when you contact someone for help they are very clearly following a script - they can't think outside the box or say anything that hasn't been rehearsed. Therefore, they can't find a solution to problems!
Description of Work: I use Comcast for cable and internet service because they're the only ones available in my town at this time. If you have a choice, don't use Comcast!

So far the service of Comcast was good. The costumer service of Comcast was okay and I never had any problems.

The cable signal is not reliable although their customer service is really friendly.

Description of Work: I wish there were an inexpensive plain old landline rate - especially for seniors. I pay 65/month. All the good deals are on cell phones. If you know of any, let me know.

We have a lot of boxes. When I use the computer it doesn't take long to get connected. It doesn't seem like it's as fast as it could be, but I guess that's as fast as it goes. I just use it for business, so I don't notice it that much. The cable service is fine.

I remain dissatisfied with Comcast, but they seem the least noxious option. After several years of service, I found out I could have saved hundreds of dollars by purchasing my own cable modem, rather than paying about $10/month to rent one for the last several years. How disappointing. Uptime is fairly good for internet service, but I remain skeptical about Comcast service in general because when service does fail, I usually seem to end up navigating scads of phone menus, misinformed customer service professionals, and overworked technicians. My best hope for Comcast is that it fails rarely - because when it does fail, service is problematic.

Cable is a problem and I do have some issues with Comcast. In the last two and a half years they have increased their fees 35% with no increase in services. I think that is outrageous when we have been a customer for 25 years. They sock it to you. You call to talk to them and they really don't want to talk to you. I'm really thinking about switching. They have no competition which is a problem. The speed on the internet is fine and should be for that kind of money. I pay my bills on time and they won't talk to me. I have a neighbor who has the same bundle I have and his bill is much lower.
Description of Work: For internet, cable and phone services I use Comcast. I do have some extra channels and services but that costs extra.

I have been a long time customer of Comcast. I do check out both Comcast and Verizon, and I like to deal with Comcast. Overall my experience with them is good, and I would continue using them.

They are the only available company in the area. Their service is generally fine; it works most of the time but they are expensive. I do not know how the other companies charge but I find what I pay every month is a lot of money for the service, especially when I do not have a choice. What is good about them is that they have a winter price; when I am away for several months, I can put everything on hold without anything being disconnected and that is reasonable. They are pretty responsive but they charge me extra when I call them when I need; for example when I need internet assistance, they put me on the thing when I get charged all of the month for it. Their punctuality is good when they come out for anything.

I think their service depends on the region where one is. Whenever I’m in Boston the customer service is really good but in Florida it is really bad. The amount of channels is not necessarily the best but for the amount that I spend for the bundle it is really worth it.

It is supposed to be $139 a month but then they add on all fees, charges and taxes and then it’s not $139 a month anymore. It’s $199 a month. They are only one of the two providers in town and they are the lesser of the two evils, that’s why we went with them. They have 24 hour phone assistance and that’s pretty nice. I know that they outsource a lot of jobs and when one is talking to somebody, one could be talking to somebody in Bombay, India. Sometimes I find it very hard to understand them. I am not a racist; I just have a hard time understanding them lots of times. A lot of the pre-recorded stuff that one has to go through too is not very pleasant either, it’s a lot of stuff before we get through to a person and that’s frustrating. The overall quality is pretty good and they offer a lot of services.
Description of Work: We use the services of Comcast for cable TV, internet and phone. We are on the Triple Play Plan and we have all the three together. We have had them for cable TV service for almost 20 years. We just put the phone service on a month ago.

I called Comcast Sales a Jahmal Swanson 617-674-0669 answered the call. He quickly arranged a Sunday morning appointment for the install. unfortunately there were no promotional packages available. I wouldn't be eligible anyway since I was already a Comcast customer Incredibly he went higher up the chain to arrange a package deal price I cannot express enough praise for the service Jahmal provided. He manged the whole process start to end. Even providing me with his cell phone if I had any problems!!~ We all know what a nightmare it can be just getting through to speak with someone only to be transferred to a call center somewhere else in the world that ends up unable to help you after you've waited more than 10 minutes burnign up cell phone minutes. I was truly impressed with the unexpected level of service. When the tech guy arrived on Sunday he was incredibly great at making sure everything was set up properly. Amazing.
Description of Work: I have been a Comcast customer for awhile and not always satisfied but a captive because I use a Comcast email address for my email. I recent moved. I wanted to set up Comcast cable at my new home. Ialso decided to add Cable TV and phone to my previous Internet only account.

I have no problem with Comcast and there are other options available. The last time I interacted with them I was having problems getting an internet connection. They were able to fix it and get me working again. They were responsive and punctual in helping me.

My opinion of Comcast depends on how it is performing. We have been using them for about 5 years. We chose them because they were offering a deal at the time. We pay to much for our services. We will continue to use them unless something better comes along, but I would not refer them.

They bill my credit card for services, and find that is efficient. So far, my experiences have been pretty positive. They answer my questions, and resolved the one issue I've had with the cable, rather quickly. I have to wait in line for service, and they do a good job with all the issues they have to deal with. I think the price is expensive, but it's reasonable considering the services they provide. I am satisfied with the internet service, and I really like the availability of the channels with the basic service. The punctuality works out well, and I will continue to use them in the future.

Their customer service is really great, the only negative is they are pricey. It is because they bundle everything and they do not allow you to customize your bundle. It would be nice if they did.

Within the first week, I had signal issues and someone had to come out and replace some wiring at their junction box (bad start). Five weeks ago, I started having signal issues again - it started with "tiling" on certain channels at times and my internet cutting in and out periodically. It got progressively worse during the week and reached the point where both cable and Internet was unusable. Pictures froze up and stayed that way for 20 minutes or more; channels would become unavailable entirely with an error message (at times ALL the channels became unavailable and even the DVR functionality froze up); at a time any given hour; Internet service would cut in and out so much that it was not functioning the majority of the time in any given hour and I was reduced to using my cell phone for Internet access. In the span of 5 weeks, I called Comcast approximately 8 times about these issues. After the first call, they sent a technician who identified the problem as being at the box on the pole feeding my house. Someone was supposed to come the following day to do something to do it, and it was my understanding that someone did come. The problem was not resolved, however, and I contacted them again. For the entire 4 weeks that followed, my service continued to not be working, and I called Comcast repeatedly. I would be on hold for as long as a half hour sometimes. I was repeatedly given promises by the customer service reps that they would talk to their manager and someone from their maintenance department would contact me or someone would call me back. This NEVER happened. I even had at least 2 reps tell me they would talk to their manager and personally follow my account periodically to make sure I was contacted and the problem resolved. Never happened. Never heard from them again, was never contacted anyone, my service was never fixed. After the second such conversation, 2 1/2 weeks passed without any contact or action from Comcast. Five days after the second such conversation, I filed a grievance with the state agency that regulates cable companies in Massachusetts. The following week, I switched to RCN as my cable provider and cancelled service. They still have not credited me for the month+ of non-working service as of my writing this several days later. I was again promised that "someone will contact me" about that (I have a voicemail from one of the customer service reps that even references the fact that I am entitled to a credit). Comcast is honestly the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with in any capacity. Truthfully, I like their program offerings and on-demand better than RCN, but it is simply not worth it. I had RCN for 10 years before trying Comcast and never had issues like what I saw with Comcast.
Description of Work: I chose Comcast as my cable & internet provider when I moved to a new place in Somerville, MA in Sept. 2011 and terminated service in July 2012.
