Lead paint inspection
Description of Work: We bought a condo without knowing its lead paint status and needed an inspection. John showed up on time, explained everything, and was efficient and thorough. We really enjoyed working with him and would absolutely recommend his services.

Description of Work: They came out and checked the basement for mold in a house we were looking to buy. They determined the basement did not have mold and was very informative as to what we could do to prevent it. Very professional, nice and educational. Would hire again.

Description of Work: They removed the asbestos from the duplex. It went very well. I can't recall the date or the amount, because it was a while back, but I do recall that the cost was very reasonable. We had used this company before and had no concerns whatsoever about asking them back.

Description of Work: De-leading of 2-family house, included scraping on some moldings, replacement of some windowsills, replacement of a corner wall, scraping of some porch woodwork and replacement of porch woodwork. Everything was very decent except the porch woodwork that was replaced and 3yrs later has fallen apart from wood rot, even though it was painted/protected, etc. Very poor craftmanship and quality of wood. Unfortunately, probably partially our fault because we asked them for specific railing type that they didn't have, so they handmade them.

Description of Work: We worked with this company for the complete deluding of our home. They made recommendations on what was the best way to go (e.g., replacing old window or just dipping them and repainting to de-lead). They stuck to our tight timeline and they provided a comprehensive report, certificate of de-leading, and a thorough explanation of how to read the report. Overall, I would work with them again if ever needed.

Ben from the company did the work for us. After the initial call, Ben showed up within 2-3 days. He spent about three hours testing every surface inside and out. He was professional, took the time to answer all of my questions, provided helpful information, and took some of they mystery out of the process for me. After we had the deleading work done (with another company since ASAP doesn't do the deleading work), ASAP returned two more times for additional required inspections and then deemed our property in full compliance with the lead law, which was a huge relief for us. I highly recommend ASAP Environmental.

I called to have room tested for mold -- a bad smell started coming was coming from our young son's bedroom after hurricane Irene which had experienced some water stains over the winter. At the time I called, I was told that the person who schedules those appointments was not in the office, but would call back. They called back as promised at the specified time. We discussed the mold testing process and cost. They said it would cost $250 for a verbal report, $450 if I wanted a written report and $100 per sample test. It sounded high, but they were highly recommended, so I decided to give them a try. At the scheduled appointment (a Saturday), the technician they sent to the home showed up completely unprepared. For some reason he thought he was there to do a lead analysis and had left all his mold testing equipment back at the office. We asked if he could go get his equipment and come back later in the day and find a way to reschedule his other appointments given that it wasn't our mistake. He refused and didn't even want to call the office for assistance. He basically said we would have to take off from work the following week to reschedule the appointment. When we explained that wouldn't be an option and we needed the testing done sooner, he told us we should find another company to help us and left. We called someone else and they were at our house within 2 hours. Overall, a very disappointing customer service experience.
Description of Work: None -- the technician refused to perform the work requested. It was supposed to be mold analysis.

VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WITH ASAP. VERY RESPONSIVE AND PUNCTUAL, RESPONDED THOROUGHLY TO QUESTIONS BY PHONE AND IN PERSON. PRICE WAS COMPARABLE TO OTHER QUOTES RECEIVED (THEREFORE ''GOOD'' BUT NOT ''EXCELLENT''). VERY PROFESSIONAL. I GAVE THEM A ''B'' FOR QUALITY OF WORK BECAUSE THE HANDWRITING ON THE FORMS WAS ILLEGIBLE AT TIMES AND THEREFORE DIFFICULT TO INTERPRET, REQUIRING A FOLLOW-UP CALL TO THE COMPANY. PRICE IS FOR 1500 SQUARE FOOT HOUSE.
