It was a great experience. David came, gave us estimates and then they proceeded with the work. The wallpaper was all removed the 1st day. Walls were repaired, primed and painted over the next 2 days. We couldn't have been happier with the work...

David J Butler Painting were very neat, low key, came in to do their work, and I thought they were very nice people. It was a man, his son, and another worker. They had other jobs so they sort of came and went which was okay with me since we had to let paint dry and things like that. It was worth every penny for them to take the wallpaper off. I thought the price was a very nice deal and a fair price.

Great! This team is wonderful, courteous, dependable, trustworthy and they clean up after themselves!

David was very easy to deal with from the beginning of the job to the very end, as was his crew. The job performed was excellent.

The work was very professionally done and they were neat, clean and respectful. It took a little while to get to the work, but as we were fairly open about the timing that was OK. Also, once the work was started, they worked to completion, getting the job done within a reasonable period of time. Dave the owner was responsive and accessible. I am not entirely sure how the price compares with other pricing--it seemed a bit more than we expected, but that may be standard for our area which tends to be pricey. Overall, we were very happy with the work, would recommend Dave and his company and would use them again.

I contacted three local painters with high reviews from Angies List to get estimates for a complete exterior painting job. The first two painters provided detailed estimates that were within about $400 of each other. Their cost estimates included materials and two coats of paint on the body of the house. David J Butler Painting's estimate was for only one coat of paint on the body (which I questioned because we were changing colors), and did not include materials. His estimate was approximately $1500 over the previous two estimates with only one coat of paint.

The remover did a fine job. It took about 2-3 hours and the wallpaper came off easily. It wasn't a challenging job but it definitely wasn't something I wanted to do on my own so I felt that $139 was a fair price to pay for the work. It was hard to schedule; I traded voicemails and emails with Dave Butler several times. It was a small job so he needed to squeeze me in where he could. I expected him the day after Christmas but he didn't come, but then he called me a day later and we got it scheduled. I was happy with the work done. My only complaint is that the person who did the wallpaper removal (Dave's business partner, I think?) smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. He took two or three breaks during the work to go outside for a cigarette (he never smoked in the house). We don't smoke and I'm fairly sensitive to it, so it was overwhelming for us; even my kids mentioned it. I had to air out the house for a few hours afterward. I'm not sure that heavy smokers realize how much of the smell stays on them. We had Dave quote some painting work throughout the house but, aside from the price, I didn't think I'd be able to bear the smoke smell in the house for the 2-3 weeks it would take to get the work done. I feel uncomfortable sharing this information because I don't want Dave to be adversely affected but I feel it's important for people who are sensitive to cigarette smoke to know.

I bought six hours of wallpaper removal for $139 (plus materials). Mr. Butler arrived to assess the room that I wanted to have worked on, and estimate how much time it would take to complete. He thought it might take slightly longer than the six man-hours, and quoted the cost of any overage. I had a restriction that the work could only be done on a Friday, so with the business of his company , my appointment was booked for six weeks later. Two workers came, on time, and laid out drop cloths to protect my carpet and the washing machine that I wasn't able to remove from the room. They did a wonderful job in getting all the wall paper and glue off despite the challenges of excessive glue use, working around my washing machine, and getting behind a conduit that was close to the wall. They cleaned up and vacuumed, bagged up all of the wallpaper scraps and left the room in better shape than they found it! They finished in just under three hours (ie, slightly less than the six man-hours), and my only other cost was $15 for cleaning solution. They advised me to wait 48 hours to let the wall fully dry before painting it, and recommended that I apply a primer first.

Fantastic results. Always professional and helpful. The MBR, hallway, bathroom, and stairway needed repair & refreshing. The wall & ceiling repairs are seamless. The walls were changed from a medium color to light neutrals and are now fresh & airy. Dave & DJ kept me apprised of scope of work and despite an expansion in the work required to cover my past color choices, finished on-time Couldn't be happier with the results!

Dave, DJ, and John are an excellent team. Dave is always very responsive, quick to provide a quote, and carefully explains all the work that needs to be done and anything that comes up as they work. The work has always been stellar. We have found all kinds of weird stuff once wallpaper begins to come down (big gaping holes, wallpaper applied using rubber cement...), but I don't even ask about it because I know when they get done it'll look and feel like there was never anything there. They paint perfect straight edges, every day when they leave my house is spotless except for some materials they leave in a corner for the next day, and I haven't been able to find anything to complain about in all the times they've been in the house. II thought they did a fine job - particularly patching the ceiling as it is very hard to do. Although you can see the patch, he had told me that prior to doing the job. I mainly hired him to remove wall paper, but added the other jobs. He said he would leave the room paint ready. It was 6 months later that we finally hired a painter and he complained that they really didn't do a good job removing the wall paper paste. Additionally, I requested a quote for our entry that has very high ceilings. He took measurements, told me it would be a very hard job (would be expensive) and never got back to me with a quote even though I said I was going to get it done. I had the 2nd painter do the entry - he brought in staging which made it into an easier job, and did a great job.

I really liked dealing with Dave and his son. Dave was very friendly, professional, punctual. The only down side is that I thought his estimates for future work were a bit pricey. Other than that, I liked the work that was done.

Overall, the job went smoothly. The walls were not in good condition after the paper removal so that they required extra care, and therefore extra time to prepare for painting.

We are very satisfied with David J Butler Painting. The work was very good. They were neat, they were professional and the listened to the customer looking to make the customer happy. We would use him again. His price was fair.

They did a great job, arrived on time. My kitchen was cleaner after they left,despite an incredibly messy job. Would highly recommend their service.

The job was pretty good. There was a additional fees due to some other things that needed to be addressed (don't remember the additional cost). After the job was finished he did a great job cleaning up after himself. He was able to get all the wallpaper to come off. I would use his services again and would recommend him to others.

From start to finish, fantastic service. I purchased an Angie's List coupon for wallpaper removal - how lucky to get a discount on one of the worst home projects, especially when dealing with a very tight space. I called to book an appointment and David was responsive, personable, and made arrangements to meet me within days - and during the year-end holiday week. He also provided a very reasonable quote and timeline for painting the powder room. The Butlers arrived on-time and immediately got started -- even helped remove a cabinet that seemed to be welded to the wall. The workmanship was excellent and the space was thoroughly cleaned -- not a snippet of paper to be seen. They were polite and helpful in answering questions about which paint to get -- still needed to look at colors, even though I combed through the B.Moore fan a few times. Next morning, DJ arrived when promised and got to work. Room looks fantastic. Only room in the house with smooth walls. Can't wait to start on the next project. Will definitely be using their services again.

Our basement was in need of a touch up so had David out to give us a quote. He was able to get out here quickly to see the job right before Christmas and had a quote emailed over to us within a few days. At first the quote was a bit too high as we did originally request to have every part of the basement painted. David did review his quote again and was able to cut some costs, but in the end, we decided to just paint walls, ceiling and a shelf that runs along 1/2 of the basement. which brought the cost down quite a bit. They got the job done in 1 1/2 days and it looks great. I am impressed with their attention to detail, and very happy with the job done. I was very happy too that David was able to fit us in between two other jobs as we really wanted to get the basement sorted out for the kids.

I purchased the Big Deal for four hours of wallpaper removal. I was pleased to receive a prompt return call. The work was scheduled at a time that was convenient for me. The workers showed up on time and ready to go. They checked in with me during the day to keep me apprised of their progress. I also hired them to remove wallpaper in a second room. I was pleased with the ease of getting the work done, and Mr. Butler is a pleasant and professional business owner. He was generous with his knowledge and advice regarding the work I planned to do myself.

Overall, a great experience. Very glad I got the deal and very glad they were the ones doing the work.

I purchasd a "Big Deal" coupon for wallpaper removal by David J. Butler Painting in November. David returned my phone call very quickly, came by within a day or so to see the job. We arranged a day & time and after confirming by phone, the guys did exactly as promised showing up right on time. They did a great job, were really professional and completely cleaned up. David even did some minor repairs to the walls

I We are 3/4 of the way done, but I feel very confident about the job. David and his crew are extremely: punctual, careful, fastidious, fast, customer focused/easy to get along with, great communicators (with us, and between each other), and overall very nice people - family owned and staffed. We have had a lot of work done on our house, outside, over the past 2 years, and this team is by far the best we have ever had working with us. A model of what you hope for with contractors. David was extremely open as to possible difficult areas, which he was right about, so there have been no surprises. I knew every day what the game plan was, as well as for the next day, which facilitated planning for blocking off areas from the dogs, moving breakable items, and the like. Whole house painting, by its nature, is a disruptive process, but this team made it as easy to live through as possible. In the one or two occasions where we found something small to address, they were on it immediately. Finally, they know their materials and colors. We picked out the colors - it works best to buy small samples of paint and trial paint every wall in a room - but I took their recommendations on type of paint - all of which panned out extremely well. I cannot imagine a better quality professional painting crew. They take the time to do it right. No short cuts, just excellence in attention to detail and communication. I recommend them highly.
