Description of Work: I have used Affordable Landscaping several times on various projects. In the fall of 2009 they installed a new retaining wall and walkway. They have also provided fall/spring clean up and cut new mulch beds. They do use a sub-contractor on larger tree work.

+ 4 moreThe owner came to the house. She was easy to deal with and had a lot of great ideas. She readily volunteered suggestions based on what we initially asked for. She gave us options and suggested types of trees to be planted. We did not have to dig for that information. She offered it once we told her what were looking for. She was more than happy to provide them. She also volunteered examples of work that she had done for us to go look at it. We have seen examples of work done around town - they put a sign out after they have done a major piece of work. We chose this contractor to perform the work. The work did not start as scheduled due to a long string of bad weather. Once started, it was done as planned. At one point, the contractor notified me of some grading issues (related to having some large buried stones that had been hidden) that required additional loam to do the best job possible, and we agreed to the extra cost. I appreciated her bringing this to us, rather than just sticking to the proposal. Her chosen tree, plumbing, and irrigation sub-contractors were good to work with, and did good work. Because of the delays due to weather and torrential rains just after the work was completed, some areas of grass never came up (washed away by surface flooding) but that will be rectified in the spring. All in all we are very pleased with the work done, and have retained Affordable Landscaping for regular yard maintenance services.
Description of Work: They were the other company that we got a quote from. It included scraping the property, grading the lawn, hydro seed, stump grinding, and removing a couple of trees. It also included the option of planting a new tree. They were also going to put in an irrigation system. This was 11,000 square feet of lawn area.
