+ -1 moreTotally sucked! We tried calling several times and sent e-mails as well as a snail mail letter with no response. We tried contacting the man that came to do the estimate and the main office with no luck.
Description of Work: We were looking for an estimate for mold removal in the attic. The guy that came gave us an estimate quite a bit lower than the other contractors we contacted. He never submitted it in writing. When pressed, he told us that his supervisor felt he had not covered everything and the bid needed to be raised. We told him to go ahead. We never heard back from them in spite of several attempts to contact them. They charged for an estimate and never delivered. This is the only "estimate" we have ever paid for. We will never do so again and will never use this company for anything.

Description of Work: Our carpet is light in color and had two nasty stains that wouldn't go away no matter what we tried. Scott cleaned the whole room in no time and the stains are no where to be found. Stairs look great and the carpet was dry to walk on quickly.

See above. They were excellent at coordinating the cleanup efforts although they did not do the work themselves.
Description of Work: On the morning of 2/27 we discovered that our basement was flooding from a ruptured expansion tank above our hot water tank. After shutting off the water and calling the oil company for repairs, I looked on the internet for a company to clean up the water and take care of the damage. We live in Western Massachusetts, but John Day called me back within 1/2 hour and said he could be at our house in 2 hours. When he arrived, he checked out the damage, took photos and then located a company within an hour of our home to remove the water and damaged flooring and drywall. The cleanup company arrived in mid afternoon and began suctioning up the water and removing the carpeting and flooring. They set up industrial strength machines to dry out the basement and returned the next day to remove 2 feet of drywall from the finished rooms in the basement. They brought in a dumpster and left it for a few days to dispose of the damaged materials and for us to dispose of anything we wanted. John Day did not stay for the cleanup but remained in contact with the cleanup company and me during and following the work and sent me and and our insurance adjuster a detailed invoice within 2 weeks after the work was completed. I do not know whether the costs were determined by John Day or the company that did the work, but was very appreciative of them coordinating the cleanup for us.

+ -1 moreI wish we had taken before and after pictures. We have a rug in our dining room and 4 young boys who eat like animals in there. The rug was disgusting, with stains, food, paint, sand, mud and everything else you could think of. It looks brand new! It looks better than I ever expected. I am truly amazed with the clean. The crew even cleaned the stairs for us. I really cannot describe how wonderful the house looked after they were done. All of the carpets were dried by the time we got home from work.
Description of Work: We had carpets cleaned in our home, living room, dining room, play room, office and 3 bedrooms.

I called J. Bryan Day and made an appointment for the following week. The gentleman was prompt, fully explained what he was going to do and then did it. He detected mold in the master bedroom on the second floor and in a kitchenette directly beneath it on the first floor. The work was very prompt and efficient. The subsequent remediation confirmed the mold in the area where he detected it.

+ -1 moreThey were very very helpful. They had a wonderful technician, he was delightful when a bird flew into the house and he helped me get him out. We had some pretty nasty cup stains and those did not come off so they offered to come back but I found a product in my house and it took up the remaining stain. I would have them again. They were very very good right from the person that you talk to on the phone. She was extremely helpful and all the way to the technician.

+ -1 moreI dropped the two area rugs off at the Plainville location. I was able to do that on the same day I called to make the appointment. This saved me a $30 dollar fee for pickup/delivery. They returned the rugs on the day the rugs were to be cleaned. They also repaired some slight damage to the larger area rug. The upstairs carpeting was done well. It appears to be thoroughly clean. The downstairs playroom rug appeared spotless immediately after cleaned, however as the carpet dried some of the stains have reappeared. It is a very light, almost white, beige. I don't think you would notice them if you did not know they were there to begin with originally. The rug was in tough shape and it looks significantly better. At the time I called for the appointment I mentioned I had a Valpack coupon. There were able to give me a coupon discount, but I do not believe that it was the full discount of the valpack coupon that I had. Overall I am happy with the cleanliness of the carpet and will most likely use their services again. I would have really liked to give quality a B+, they would have earned the A if the playroom carpet was spotless after drying.
Description of Work: They cleaned the upstairs carpeting (3 bedrooms and the hallway), as well as a berber style wall to wall carpet in the playroom. I also brought two area rugs to the plainville location to be cleaned.

+ -1 moreEverything went great! He pointed out areas that were unlikely to be totally perfect and worked on other areas (like under our radiator) which were so difficult, but he got most of the stains out. He put pads under all the furniture legs.
Description of Work: I made the arrangements with my J Brian Day office in N. Attleboro and the tech came exactly on time and spent quite a bit of time cleaning my carpets. He then as a courtesy spoke with my neighbor who asked him a question about how to get a stain out of her carpet, no charge!

I was offered summer discounted services to save me money, but I opted to simply do my stairs and upstairs hallway which is what I really wanted cleaned. They emailed me several times answering any of my questions. They came to my home, as promised, ON TIME (which was very important to me) and did a fabulous job. The guy they sent was friendly, careful and he never rushed me when I asked him questions. I have 3 cats, and he was very nice to my pets and after the job, he even petted one of them. The company called me a week or two later asking me if I was satisfied. Now that is great follow through! I highly recommend them!!

As far as efficiency goes, they are way down the list. That could be because it wasn't that much of an emergency, but it took long enough that it was annoying. When they weren't going to be here, they called.

The guy was very nice. He was very frank because he looked at some of the spots on the carpet and told me that he was not able to get that cleaned. He was honest. They were very professional and easy to work with. They were great. The price was same as they quoted.

It started out as a pleasant experience and at the end it turned completely different. We had to get an arbitrator involved and the story changed. We had a contract for a certain list of things that was to happen and all of a sudden they sent additional bills and things like that to our insurance company. Our insurance only paid a certain amount and they were looking for additional money that wasn't included in our original agreement. We got the issue settled and it was in our favor. It just left a bad taste in my mouth about the company. They had to replace some tile and it looked like a child done it because it was so bad. The quality of the work wasn't good. They responded very quickly at first, but as far as fixing what got messed up; they never fixed it. They were eager to get the job started but once they had it, we weren't overly pleased with the outcome of what they had done. I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone or use them again myself.

+ 0 moreBack in October they repaired a water leak in my house. They came out that day and they were excellent. I hired them to come back out to fix everything from the water leak. I contacted them 3 times and they never came out. There was a reason that they couldn't come out and it took them about 4 months for them to come out. They were great for emergency services but it comes down to the repairs, make sure that you get a commitment with them. They needed a building permit to put in 3 sq. ft. of installation just for the repair. That only took one week out of the 3 months that it took to finish the job. The work was exception when did come out.
Description of Work: I used them for emergency services and to repair the emergency for water damage.

+ -1 moreWe are using them on Saturday for carpet cleaning. They are thorough professionals. They did a wonderful job last time. One person asked me if I had a coupon. I asked her if I should have that. She told me to wait for a minute and she went and found some promotional thing which I was unaware of. She got me a better deal. It would have crossed couple of hundred dollars but she saved us $60. She really made the effort to help us. That is cool. Whenever you speak to anyone on phone, they are there and it's a pleasure to speak to them. I know it's their job but it's a fashion in which they do it. It's a quite pleasant experience when you try to set up an appointment, which sometimes can be time involved and trying to coordination their schedule and ours. They are always much a pleasure to deal with. I would use them in the future.

+ 5 moreRepairing all the damage to my house included: Replacing ceilings in 4 rooms, replacing walls in 3 rooms, completely replacing a bathroom and a kitchen. They did an amazing job. and did EVERYTHING in 5 weeks. Left my home repaired, remodeled and CLEAN. They worked out a budget with me and stuck to it. The man who did most of the work was AMAZING and a perfectionist. He did not leave a single detail that was not perfect. I can say enough about the professionalism, attention to detail and courtesy of everyone from J. Brian Day that I have worked with.
Description of Work: I called J Brian Day when ice dams caused flooding in my home. They sent in a crew to dry up all the water and saved all my hardwood floors. They did an amazing job. They had dehumidifiers running in my home for 19 days to dry out everything. They had to take out some walls, ceilings and insulation & clean room size rugs. They helped me with all the numerous requests from my insurance company and several meetings with the insurance adjusters. Because they were so responsive to my emergency, I chose them to do all the repair work in my home.
