Can't say enough good about Ken, Nancy and the Cook's Roofing crew. I received estimates from 4 other companies, all varying in price. One company was clearly not interested and was priced much too high. The company was concerned about the number of angles on the roof and the amount of roofing waste/etc....and this was reflected in the price. Another company was only interested in replacing the roof. The other 2 companies quoted the complete project. These other 2 companies recommended additional roof venting and suggested adding surface mount vents to the roof. Ken also recommended additional venting but was the only contractor that pointed out that mixing soffit and roof vents is not a good idea (certainteed actually recommends against doing this). Ken was the only contractor that went into the attic to inspect roof/venting/etc.... Ken's estimate was better than the other estimates (for the complete job). Ken's crew showed up ontime and worked vigilantly on the project. Workmanship is excellent. Ken's crew were a pleasure to have at the house. The house/yard was left picked up/clean. Ken followed up after the work was complete to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. Ken also makes a return trip in 5 years to ensure all is still OK. Final result, in every aspect, looks great and we are very satisfied. I highly recommend Cook's Roofing.

His quote was competetive, but I was surprised by the fact that he wanted to sign a contract right after the estimate. Also, of the 5 contractor that I contacted, he was the only one that insisted on a substantial down payment.

The roof looks fabulous. Ken Cook recommended a material upgrade at to extra cost that made a big difference in the look of the roof. He also recommended another contractor to do additional siding work that we needed done as well. Without hesitation would hire/recommend Cook's Roofing

Ken Cook is personable and professional. After a detailed site survey, he presented us with an easy to understand and clearly worded contract. He quoted various options for us and was responsive when we called on various occasions. We selected Cook's roofing after reviewing two other quotes. Ken's list of references is impressive and after checking a few out, we were comfortable with our decision. We had an attic ventilation issue that resulted in mildew coating a good percentage of the plywood on the northern side of the house. Ken made sure we understood the problem and the proposed solution. He supplied us with a variety of brochures and informational resources and was patient when answering all questions. We were delayed a few times because of our lovely New England weather. Finally when we had a break in the weather, Ken's crew descended. I was amazed. I expected 3, 4 or 5 guys working on the roof. We had an army or a dozen or more and in short order the old roofing materials were removed and the new ones were going up. While the guys on the roofing surfaces concentrated on their efforts, several worked circled the house picking up debris. The crew was hardworking, courteous and considerate taking care around the landscaping. About 95% of the roofing job was completed in one day! The next day, two more workers came by to finish up the last 5%. A week later (again, weather issues causing the delay), our gutters and downspouts went up. Ken and his wife Nancy were always patient and available to answer questions. Ken came by the check on all the work a few days after the gutters were in place. I would not hesitate to recommend Cook's to anyone looking for some roofing work.

It all went very well and it was quick. We had a very difficult roof to work on, and it was not a big deal for them. They still did everything in one day. I would definitely be happy to recommend this company.

They were excellent. We are having trouble with our roof this year with ice dams, but I don't think that's a reflection of his work on our roof. He was one of the most professional people I have worked with. He gave a clear picture of what they were going to do with the roof. Everything was very clear. The cost was very clear and he told me the kind of shingles he would use. Everything was decided together. This was something I went through on my own. My husband did not have a part in this particular job because he was always at work. Cook's workers were the cleanest and tidiest workers I have ever had for any job. They did not throw shingles around on the ground. They did not crush my bushes. They kept a small dumpster on the property while they worked and they removed it every day at the end of the day. There was no sign to show that any work going on while they were here. They were really excellent. They were very friendly. They were on the roof all the time so I didn't have an occasion to talk to them too much. I would bring out cold drinks and so on and they were very responsive. That was about all the contact I had with them. I do usually offer cold drinks when I have people working out here. Sometimes they accept it and sometimes they don't. Some feel it's not professional to do it. The price was reasonable. We have a lot of roof on our house so he had quite a bit to cover. I remember his name very well because I liked him so much. I know if we ever need any roof work done, I would definitely use him.

Ken clearly knows roofing and I felt confident when selecting his services over the other two roofers I interviewed for the job. I like the guarantee that he provides and his years of experience, over 35 years! The crew left no trace of their visit and that is always a good sign!
