Superior, professional work with a well-trained crew, and an excellent value. The tree to be taken down was a large, old (and dead) maple, situtated between electrical and phone wires and very close to our home. The tree was taken down within hours by a team of skilled workers, trimming in the tree, and using a crane with heavy-duty wood chipper. There was a bit of a delay in carting away the largest trunks, which needed a logging truck. Before selecting McDonough, referred by a local landscaper, I interviewed 5 other tree services. McDonough was the best value, and delivered very good results.

I got him from word of mouth, from a friend of a friend. Compared to all of the other providers I called, they are an "A". To get the quote they came right out but it took me a little bit to track them down to schedule the appointment.

The McDonough staff did an AMAZING job! Not only did they efficiently and carefully do all tree removal and trimming, their clean-up was first rate! They are true pros who know what they are doing. I was very impressed from start to finish. I highly recommend them for tree work!

The work itself went well and was reasonably priced. Either his or the the stump grinder's truck knocked off some branches of another tree. Took no responsibility for this issue. Could not get a bill from him in a timely manner. Then 6 months later he wanted to be paid, which we did but this is not the best way to run a business especially because it was now the next year.

I had 2 very large trees in my backyard very close to my house, one growing into the foundation. It was a very difficult job. McDonough Tree removal was the 4th company to look at the job and I felt most confident with them. I was concerned mainly because the trees were so close to my house and also extremely difficult access. Sean and his crew were masterful. He is very skilled with the crane and made it look easy although it is far from it. Fortunately, I had seen the McDonough crew remove a tree from my neighbor's yard which is why I called. I learned a lot by contacting 4 companies. A big difference I discovered is not every company owns their own crane. Other companies rent a crane for the job. Also not everyone is skilled at operating the crane which is an extremely important factor. Sean estimated how long the job would take and he was right on target. I thought it would take all day. I highly recommend McDonough Tree Removal service. Sean and crew are as I said skilled, efficient, safety conscious, easy to work with and reasonably priced. I am very happy I saw them in action and made that 4th call.

Shawn McDonough came the same day I called to look at the work and give me a price. He said it may take 2-3 weeks to do the work, but 2 days later Shawn said he would be in the area and if he could do the work. I said sure but was leaving to play golf. Shawn said i did not need to be there. By the time i returned 2 hours later the crew and trees were gone and not a branch or leaf were left behind. Thanks Shawn great job.

Shaun at McDonough tree Removal was professional and courteous on the phone and in email communications. The crew of 4 or 5 guys was able to do the job as soon as was practical (there was construction work on our street which caused several weeks' delay). They arrived on time, worked quickly, cleaned up completely, and we were totally satisfied. They took down the tree with a crane, fed most of the smaller sections into a machine that pulverized it, left two huge trunk sections to be taken away in a few days. Some workers came to take away the trunk sections as promised, in just a few days, same for grinding the stump. Everyone was polite, friendly, and awesomely efficient.

I was very pleased with the work, though a little surprised that I had to dispose of the post-grinding wood-chips myself. Sean was quick to come by and give a very reasonable quote. His team arrived within a couple of days of authorization with impressive automated grinding equipment and had the work done in 90 minutes. Sensibly priced and good work.. This, plus previous work with Sean in the last 15 years where he competently removed whole large tress means that I will certainly be using him again.

The crew performing the work was excellent. They removed two large trees in 1.5 hours. The actual stumps were very low to the ground. Work was performed off of a very busy street with constant traffic. The crane was positioned on the street and it had plenty of reach...no heavy equipment needed to enter my driveway to complete the job. The crew was meticulous with the removal of all debris. Shaun was very professional, friendly, and punctual. I am very satisfied with the work and would used McDonough Tree Services again in the future.

His team of 4 employees and heavy equipment did a top notch job at a very fair price. We would hire them again.

We were happy with the service. Cost 325 for the combined work. They were efficient and pleasant to work with.

Sean was very responsive when we first contacted him about the job. He came out and took a look, and gave me an estimate. It was a while before he and his team actually came out to do the work, but in the meantime, I added the pruning and grinding to the job, so it worked out. The work was efficiently and expertly done. Removal of the ash was problematic in that there were power lines close-by and a smaller Japanese maple that we wanted to protect. By using his crane and lifting the tree up and over in sections, Sean was able to do the removal with no damage. The hemlock was more straightforward, but nonetheless required skill to avoid damage to surrounding smaller trees and shrubs. Overall, the work was excellent and the cleanup was good as well. My only complaint was that when I asked about cutting up the ash into sections for firewood, Sean told me that it would be too expensive- that everything would go into the chipper. In actuality, he wound up cutting the tree into manageable sections for a neighbor who had come by during the job for him to take away for firewood. I wound up having to work out getting some of the wood back from the neighbor, who was very cooperative. Overall, the work was professionally done at a reasonable price.

We have used McDonouch Tree Removal several times through the years and always an excellent job and price. We highly recommend them. They arrive right on time and do a professional job/clean-up and was able to work with difficult tree location. Nice to work with and great job. Very skillful crane operation.

Sean's price was comparable to the other bidders, but Sean was able to come within a few days, and was confident he could reach everything with his crane. (The other bidders were less sure what they could do without a climber.) Finished the job in about seven hours, using his crane, a chipper, and a four man crew. No mistakes or incidents. Professional, efficient, and easy to deal with. UPDATE: I used Sean again for another round of tree removal in June 2013. Several midsize trees, one large leader, and lots of smaller trees, for a cost of $2100. His price was again fair, he came within days, and completed the project without incident in half a day.

McDonough was fantastic. They have their own crane, which made the job much more efficient and less expensive than other bids. They arrived right on time and had the trees down within a few hours (another company that use rope-work said the job may take a couple days). There was minimal mess, and the stump grinder they contract will arrived within the next few days as promised, and was without any issues. We had them leave some of the long straight logs for our own use, and they removed all of the wood that we did not want. When it later turned out that we were not able to use as much of the wood as we originally thought, they had someone show up and remove the rest of the wood without any hassles. The bottom line: Prices were excellent because they own their own crane. The whole experience was very professional and without any hassle. They were very accommodating with wood removal. McDonough will be our first call when we need to have trees removed in the future.

I have used Sean to do tree removal before and this time was no different. He returned all phone calls and called when he said he was going too. I was not home when he removed the 6 pine trees we agreed on, but when I came home, it looked like he hadn't even been there. The yard and street were completely cleaned up. Awesome job again.

Shaun and his crew were amazing to watch. I had about 13 trees removed including 3 huge pines close to my house. They very carefully removed all the trees with a mammoth crane, cutting the truncks into 10' sections and gently depositing them in front of my home for pick up by a lumber company. They removed the trees with no damage to surrounding azalea bushes. These bushes were huge and I thought they would be destroyed, so I was really happy to see they were unharmed by the tree removal. If you are looking for a great price and great service, Shaun is worth the wait... He's busy but you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend McDonough Tree Removal!

He was very quick and thorough. He cleaned up after himself. It was absolutely perfect. I would hire him again in a minute. I have told many people about him since.

We had a great experience. We had three cedar trees that were practically on top of the house. We left for work one morning and by the time we got home they were gone! Would definitely use him again.

He seemed to be quite reasonable. The owner who came was very personable. He told me exactly what it would take to get the job done and gave me an approximate price. He then gave me time to think about it and get back to him.
