20+ years ago Shaun done a great job and cut down couple trees for me. It was long time ago, a time without Angi. Now in May 2023, he done another good job for me by cutting done 1 tree. Good communication, quick response, good price. I wasn’t at home when they performed the work.Everything done right as I expected a good Contractor would do. I decided that this time I will drop a check at his company right away and also write this review to pay my respect to his work.

Exceptional service, fair prices, quality work, clean, neat, fast, careful, etc. I could not give Shaun and his team a higher review than saying that it is always a pleasure dealing with them. My latest experience was today. I spoke with Shaun a day or so ago and asked if he could deal with one tree when he had some free time and he called me today to say that they had a break on a rainy day and he was there and the very large tree was down, chipped and cleaned up the same morning. His service was exceptional and also such a nice guy and team. This is my second experience with his tree removal and I would call him for any future work and happily refer him to others.

Very smoothly, they came on time and they were finished within 4 hours.

Shaun gave us an estimate to remove 3 maples, a black cherry tree and grind one stump in our backyard. One of the trees was close to a smaller maple, which we wanted to keep and there was no damage to it after the tree removal. Shaun set up the crane on the street in front of our house. Eric and Dave drove up with the chipper equipment. Shaun and Eric worked on the tree cutting and lifted the trees right over our house, letting them down in a side street. Dave fed the large tree chunks right into the chipper. The whole operation was done in about 2 hours. They cleaned up perfectly and you could hardly tell they were here except for some sawdust. Less than 2 weeks later a truck pulled up with two guys who proceeded to grind the one stump. They also did a wonderful job. Everyone did a great job and we were very satisfied. We will hire McDonough again if we need more trees removed. We will also recommend them to all our neighbors.

They did a great job, arrived exactly when they said they would, and charged a fair price. I have used their service often over the years to remove fallen trees and debris, sometime requesting that the wood be sawed into fireplace lengths. I have always been impressed with, not only their work, but also their great communication - always getting right back to me, whenever I had any issue or a concern. I heartily recommend this service!

Shaun McDonough stopped within a day of my phone call and scheduled the tree removal within a few days. I had not noticed the tree, an 80-foot tall Norway spruce with a 3-foot diameter trunk, was rotted through and had started listing towards the street, so the prompt service was greatly appreciated. Shaun has incredible equipment that makes quick work of a big job, and he and his crew did a great job, great cleanup, and at a reasonable price for such a huge tree.

These guys are amazing. Kept in phone contact to schedule. Arrived when they said. Professional crew. Great team work. It took them 2 hours from the time they arrived to when they pulled out. Would hardly know they had been here except for the tree being gone. And this tree was huge - 5-foot diameter trunk. Would hire them again.

Service and price were great. The owner Sean got back to me within 24 hours and the estimate was done several days later. The crew came the next week and the tree went down quickly and uneventfully. The crane was massive. I price compared with two other highly reputable companies, and McDonough was $200-400 less expensive. The crew cleaned up the area post removal, and you wouldn't have known anyone was there, but for the huge tree missing. Highly recommend McDonough, and would use them again without hesitation. Removed a 70+ foot tree that was near the utility cables on our busy street. Impeccable job. They were done in less than an hour including setup. When they finished, there wasnt a speck of debris. The stump was left just a couple of inches tall. Price was competitive and reasonable. Overall great job!

Mr. McDonough came by our property very promptly after we contacted them and gave us an estimate for removal of a very large tree in hazardous condition which was situated some distance in back of the house. He gave us a verbal estimate, and told us he expected to be able to get to our job in about 2 months, and that he would call for detailed scheduling as we neared that time. After waiting about 2 months, and still not hearing anything, we attempted to contact the company for an update, leaving a voice message by phone. After the second attempt to reach them, they called us back to let us know that, regretfully, they had previously underestimated the distance to the tree, and that after a more accurate assessment, they concluded that they would not be able to do the work, their crane would just not reach far enough, contrary to their earlier estimates. So, after losing about 3 months of time with them, we had to start all over again on our quest to get rid of this hazard.

Amazing! McDonough Tree Removal came out and looked at the tree this morning to give me an estimate, and came back an hour later with their truck and chipper and had the tree down minutes later! I never expected to get an estimate AND have the tree removed all in one day. Plus the cost was extremely reasonable! Two other quotes I got to take down the same tree were 2x and 6x as much!!! I 100% will be hiring McDonough Tree Removal again for all our tree removal needs. Thank you!

We found McDonough Tree Removal to be professional and efficient. Response time to our request was timely. They removed a 5 story tree close to our house while skillfully avoiding surrounding power lines on one side and phone/internet cables on the other side. Their cleanup was thorough, including all branches and loose debris. They were able to cut the stump very close to the ground to avoid stump grinding. It was amazing to watch the process! We were surprised how quickly the work was done. We highly recommend this company.

Fantastic service. Shaun always returned calls to answers my many questions and his quote was better than the others I had received. Came fast to assess, gave a good price (did not compare to anything as decided that his service was great and he came fast and the price looked good). Promised to try and do the work this week and came after two days, which was great. Cut the limb to pieces for me.

Sean needed to remove many trees to clear for a new garage foundation. Quote was lowest price. McDonough Tree Removal came with brand new crane and tree grinder and quickly removed all the trees. McDonough Tree came out quickly to look at the job and provide a quote. We found the quote reasonable and hired them to come back the next week and remove the tree and grind the stump. Work was done when and how promised, would hire again!

We had a very positive experience. I called and within a few days Sean (the owner) was out to the property and provided an estimate the same day. Sean quoted $3700 which included the removal of 5 tall pine trees (approximately 80-100 feet each with 1 located in the front of the house, 2 on the side and 2 in the back yard), crane operation for removal of the trees, a police detail because the house is located on a very busy main road, and stump grinding. Within 2 weeks of Sean's initial visit, the trees were removed. It took approximately 2 additional weeks to have the stumps ground but only due to the fact that the machinery had been in the shop. The mulch from the grinding was very easy to clean up. Sean coordinated the entire project including the police detail and stump grinding.

McDonough Tree Removal warned me I would have to wait for a few weeks because they already had a lot of work scheduled. But they came a few days before the planned date, although they didn't notify me about it (my mother-in-law called me and said they had already been working on the tree). They worked fast and clean. They would grind the stump, too, but it was not possible to bring the grinding machine because of stone support walls that surround my plot of land.

After several nor'easters, there was significant tree damage. McDonough was extremely busy during this time but had already quoted me a few weeks before and held true towards getting the trees cut which were significant in size. They were prompt and the prices were extremely reasonable. Would certainly use again.

The workers did an amazing job removing the trees without damaging the house. Very professional job. They tied the crane hoist to each tree, sawed the tree and then lifted it carefully over the house -- sometimes with a man riding the crane with the tree. The trees were then chipped up in their equipment at the street.

We had about a dozen very tall oak trees on a hillside that needed to come down as they were becoming dangerous. One tree had already snapped at the base and was leaning on an adjacent tree. These trees were a difficult reach and a bit challenging. We hired McDonough Tree Removal, based on their advertisement that they have the right equipment to do such a job. The right equipment is certainly true. They have a massive crane and the mother of all wood chippers. We also asked them when they arrived if they could take down a double oak tree at the front of our house as well as the ones on the hillside. They were able to get the entire job done that day, everything cleaned up and the tree trunks hauled away. In a word, it was awesome !!! So, if you have some large or difficult tree removal needs, these are the guys.
