Beware! I absolutely do not recommend using this vendor. If you do use this vendor, you should be careful. Know you are being charged over $2 per minute, regardless of what work (if any at all) was done and regardless of the handyman's pace (which I can tell you from experience is unbelievably slow). Let me start off by saying that the fees were absolutely explained to me upfront. We explained the problem (a leak) to Joe, the owner, and we were told they could help. He said someone would come over, do some investigative work, and then potentially make some repairs to stop the leak. The "investigation" basically consisted of handyman giving me a tour of my house for 2.5 hours as he pointed out all the different possible sources of a leak. The roof deck, the roof, the flashing on the roof, the siding, the plumbing, the gutters, the dormer, etc. I am not a licensed contractor, and I totally get the diagnosing a leak is a lot of trial and error, but at over $2 per minute I did not need to be explained all the possible (which is all that was done) sources. I immediately felt that this guy was in over his head and that this was probably a mistake, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Once my 2.5 hour tour was over, the handyman then wrote up the bill - $311! With no work done! There was no diagnosis, no repairs, and a lot of chatting/explaining (again, at over $2 per minute), so obviously I was upset. The invoice stated the work done as: "Investigate water leaks throughout the house" and "looked at inside and exterior". This is the explanation for a $311 charge. I attached a pic of the invoice. When the handyman could see I was upset, he offered to put me on the phone with Joe, the boss. Joe was incredibly rude and treated me like a threat instead of a client. Joe lectured me (you can tell he has done this before) that the fees were explained upfront and that their time is valuable, despite the fact that the handyman was slow, chatty, and meandering. Other than cutting him off and asking him to leave, I'm not sure how I would have prevented this 2.5 hour "investigation". Anyways, Joe was not having it and basically told me I need to pay whatever time was spent by the contractor, regardless of the speed at which things were done and what was actually accomplished (which in this case was absolutely nothing). Terrible.

Mr Handyman was kind, professional, and responsive. Seemed to be pricier than others (which may explain why he was available the next day). I'm not complaining, I needed work done and he responded quickly to my emails and got the job done at the time I requested, just an fyi on the price. I can't speak to the quality of the work as I have not seen it yet, but my tenants said everything went fine and I've heard no complaints fwiw.

The agent we worked with this time was, once again, very professional and concerned about keeping cost low. Rather than recommending getting new flashing, he repaired the gutter and it is working well. Thanks for another job we're happy with.

Very well. We're very pleased with the results. The tub and tile area now look very clean and fresh. The handyman was very careful to protect surfaces not involved in the job.

Scheduling was easy, dean arrived late but called to let me know he encountered unusual traffic. Was a very simple job. I just can't get over the price. They charge by the hour. Almost $400 is beyond crazy. They bought a metal pipe at the depot, hammered it 2 feet into fairly soft ground screwed 2 lag bolts into the existing wooden fence post. At least 2x what it should have been. Never ever again will I use them never. Robbery plain and simple

The service person that Mr. Handyman of Greater Newton sent was Gary. Gary arrived on time, he was extremely professional, very pleasant and informative. He was able to repair all that I had requested in my initial call to Mr. Handyman of Greater Newton as well as cleaning out my very overly backed up and dangerous dryer vent. I am very appreciative of Gary's good work. I would recommend Mr. Handyman of Greater Newton and I would use this provider again in the future.

Gary was terrific. He arrived on time, performed the services efficiently and effectively, communicated in an easy-to-understand and friendly manner, and was very professional in every way.

He came and looked at the work that needed to be done. He said he would email a quote- but never did. I was away for three weeks on vacation so he had a decent amount of time. I called and left a message for the quote but never received one.

Joe responded quickly to a voicemail I left on their main number and was able to schedule a time to address our problem quickly. Ed showed up exactly when promised and was friendly and professional. He was able to repair the handrail quickly. It's solidly attached again and looks as good as can be expected on a 100 year old home. We will definitely keep Mr. Handyman's number on speed dial for our next project.

Overall my experience with Mr. Handyman was positive. I placed an inquiry online on their website, and Marisa responded quickly by phone and we arranged for Joe (the owner) to come assess the jobs on site. Joe was very responsive, friendly and professional. He was easy to communicate with by email and phone to coordinate appointments. My only criticism is that he seemed to forget things (i.e., some parts of the job we discussed did not make it into the estimate; I had to remind him of an item that was on the estimate but which he had forgotten; and then a separate item listed in the estimate was not completed initially). To his credit, when I pointed out what was not completed, he later sent a tech to finish the job at no additional cost.

The technician was prompt, efficient and did quality work.

Provider was excellent. Air conditioners are very heavy and did without a hitch prices was right responsiveness was right. I would use them again. He carried them down three flights of stairs and put them in a storage room in our cellar after removing them from our windows. A backbreaking job.

They were unbelievable. They were really responsive and they got us right into their schedule. The whole company was friendly, from the girl on the phone, the secretary, to the guys that came out and helped us.

Very fast to respond and get the work done. Also very responsive to questions.

Joe came out for the estimate fairly quickly and the final cost ended up being close to estimate. They were able to fit me in a few days earlier due to the weather. Tom performed the installation of the attic pull down stairs. He was experienced in doing this sort of thing before and anticipated problems with my ceiling and needing a special ladder that can have a customized height, which he was able to take care of. The job came out great and I have been using the attic access every day since.

The guy was really nice, and easy to talk to. He did good work. Seemed to take some pride in his work and the qulaity of his work was good. He answered all my questions. Ed was a really nice guy as was the owner. And the price I felt was a bit expensive.

Their availability is superb. When you call them up, they send someone immediately and the people whom they have are very good. They are competent and have a wide range of skills. They can do the job very quickly. They have plumbers 24/7. So in case of any emergencies, like when a pipe breaks, they are readily available and they finish the work quite efficiently. They do all kinds of things for which it is really difficult to find people to do it. They are expensive, but what you are paying for is for their availability. But, I feel the pricing is fair for the service that they do.

Small (but important) repairs - 1 hour. Prompt, skilled, courteous.

Larry was terrific!! He did everything in a timely, methodical fashion, double checking with me each time, to make sure that items were hung in the right spot/height, etc. He was polite and professional. I would use them again, and ask specifically for LARRY the next time.

A few minutes ago, the driver of the Mr. Handyman van--MA license #N74160/phone #(617) 244-4910--attempted to pass me on the right from a right turn lane while driving west on Rte 117 from Waltham into Weston. When I did not stop in the middle of traffic to allow him to do this, he pushed me into oncoming traffic. If you want to do business with this individual or company, I would recommend against it

They put down tarps to catch debris and they vacuumed afterwards so that was excellent. They explained where they had to do anything extra and they provided suggestions for moving the hatch slightly to make it easier to get into. They took initiative along those lines. They charge by the hour and they actually prefer that you buy the stuff because it’ll cost you for them to go buy the items. Overall, it was quite positive. I had them do an earlier job where they installed a sump pump and they had to break through concrete to make an opening below the basement. They put the sump pump that I purchased in and they installed the piping. Another company estimated $2,300 but that included extra frills that I didn’t necessarily need. They did that job for about $900. The pricing is pretty good.
