Sean & Jennifer are professional, thorough, and pleasant. They are willing to make early morning appointments to accomodate our work schedule. Communicating by email is also a plus (a surprising number of contractors haven't implemented this yet), and the thank you note after our first treatment was a nice touch. They did forget to give us the Angie's List discount initially, but actually sent us a check for it later!

Shawn was very professional and a real pleasure to have in our home. He is friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything, but more importantly, he asked questions and listened to the responses. When it came time to do the work, he was fast, clean, and thorough. He offered to not only follow up on our pharoah ant problem at no charge...he also removed for recycling 10 large flourecent light tubes that were collecting dust in our basement--again at no charge. My family and I really appreciate GreenHow's dedication to tenvironmentally friendly ways to remove pests from our home. So far we couldn't be happier.

great. Sean is really responsive via phone, text or e-mail. i scheduled a few 7am appointments and he was there on time! We moved here recently and had a few more flying friends than we expected. the bees were burrowing in our garage and Sean fixed all of these problems. He also keeps the lawn enviro friendly and looking great. he also installed a roof water capture system to keep my garden growing. He is really knowledgable in most outdoor issues you may run into at your house.

Sean and Jennifer of Greenhow gave top notch service and I give them the highest recommendation. Firstly, Sean came out to do the free estimate and not only looked at the area that prompted our call (suspected carpenter ants within wood of front porch), but he also did a complete evaluation of the house perimeter and pointed out areas of concern, including plants that should be removed and that mulch should not be up against the foundation of the house (attracts insects more than soil). He was very patient and "teacher-like" (in a good way) in his explanations and we hadn't even committed to his company at that point. During his evaluation, he found a rotted wood post under the rear porch that we had no idea about because a plant was covering it. This could have been a potentially dangerous situation because three stories of porches are supported by this post! While our contractor was here for the front porch work, he was able to fix this rear porch post thanks to Sean's attention to detail. We had two other estimates done by other companies and Greenhow was the most thorough, informative and professional of them all, so we chose Greenhow. We then had to coordinate the application of the pesticide with the porch roof work. August had so much rain that Sean had to re-schedule a few times, each time with a professional attitude and incredible patience. When the time came that the weather allowed the application, Jennifer came out right on time. She had to return to finish the second part of the job four days later, and again, was right on time and she too was very patient with her explanations. We are very happy with the service that Greenhow provided and have already hired them again for doing work at another propery next week. We are also very happy that they use organic pest control solutions. If you need a pest control professional Greenhow is the way to go!

We called greenhow for a carpenter ant and carpenter bee problem. They came out the next day, did a thorough inspection of the house and outside area for pests and gave us a fair estimate to include the immediate services as well as a quarterly servicing. They came back once for a red ant problem, and these services are included in the quarterly pricing so one doesn't need to pay each time they come back. The products they used were safe for the environment and pets, and worked effectively. Overall tremendously satisfied with the service, responsiveness, and attention they provided. Would never use any non-eco friendly service ever again.

GreenHow is awesome! Jen and Sean are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful about all matters exterior (and basements and attics and bugs and ...). I have a termite problem (admitting it is the first step, isn't it?) and GreenHow has answered my termite death prayers with little sticks of wood and lots of technology. The only thing GreenHow doesn't do is landscaping and lawn service but I would hire them in a hot second if they did. I'm not kidding when I say great ideas, they can tell you about native plants, shrubs typical for historic homes, how to remove the white efflorescence from the brick foundation, how to properly dehumidify the basement, how to address rain water/gutter/foundation problems, what to do with the forest of knot weed in the back yard, the hostas that hide the groundhog entrance can be given away on craigslist (since I hate hostas), etc. etc. etc.. you NEED to call these people. And they even honored my Angies List coupon when I couldn?t find it. How cool is that?!?

They use environmentally friendly sprays to control pests. We like that very much. They are very prompt. They call back right away. Then they come and give us a through estimate. Their staff is professional and friendly.

The employees from Greenhow use the lowest amount of pesticide. They are very green. They do such great service. They are very informative. I think they are extremely responsive. They have been very attentive in dealing with my lawn. They are very thorough in examining my house.

This company is amazing. Their response time is about 20 minutes when we call for someone to come out and inspect our yard. Their price is reasonable and they are conscience of using environmentally friendly products. We have a one year contract with this company and are very happy with their service.

Jen was the person who performed the services. She was very pleasant and took the time to explain to me what she had treated and done so I understood everything. I liked the fact that they are a "green" company -- both for my family's sake and the environment's. When we had a slight resurgence of pests a week later (which they warned us could happen after more eggs had hatched) they quickly came back out and retreated everything. They are very friendly, professional and careful with their work. We'll definitely use them again and plan to do their quarterly treatments to stay ahead of the game.

Greenhow was very responsive when carpenter ants were found in the house a week after the ant bait was installed. Sean came over that day and updated the baits and put out additional materials. No ants have been seen since. They also pay attention to environmental concerns, and avoid using toxic chemicals.

I worked with a person by name Shawn. He is an awesome guy. He does great follow ups, he gets back to me on time and calls back very promptly. I guess the price is good.

She didn't find anything that night, and concluded from our description that they were not the aggressive kind, which alleviated some anxiety. I called her on Sunday, because we found 2 more bees. She came out that day, and this time she looked on the outside with ladders. She discovered one opening and filled it with foam. I was very pleased with her persistence and professionalism. She called me back a few days later to make sure we weren't having any more problems. I was very impressed with her and would recommend her to others.

Came the same day to do an estimate. Currently has done one of 4 treatments on the organic based program. The lawn already looks much better than it did this time last year! Applied an Angies List Discount to my first treatment without my asking for it (i.e., after I mentioned I found him on Angies List, I did not have to remind him about the discount). What I liked about this provider is that he had an "organic based" program which was a mix of conventional and organic fertilizer, and did not use pesticides. I don't feel the need to be dogmatically organic, but I like not using pesticides if at all possible. This method leaves a few weeds, but the grass is growing so well that overall effect is of a nice lawn.

I contacted Greenhow because our cats nearly caught a mouse right before our eyes! When Jen came, she was professional and friendly, noting that our food storage situation was not so bad. She quickly spotted the one point in the kitchen where there was mouse sign, and her tour of the basement confirmed that they were probably coming up the plumbing to the kitchen sink. She also spotted the masses of dead moth-flys from last summer, and quickly found that a damp spot in the cellar wall was causing a board to rot, where the larvae were living. (That problem is being attended to. When the team from Greenhow came out to do the first step of the process (closing holes), my husband was here to let them in. They found an entrance-point along the kitchen wall and plugged that and a number of holes from the basement to the upper floors. They also left a couple of traps, which have not been disturbed thus far. We expect them back this month for a check-up, and will then have them back on a regular basis.

I can't recommend Greenhow highly enough. I have had mice in nearly every apartment I've lived in in the city (usually one or two, in the wall, or a random dropping) - but after a recent construction job they suddenly were much more visible. I called a different, large, well-known exterminator who did not fix the situation and who broke several of my appliances trying to pull them away from the wall. A few weeks after they came, we had mice again. One night at about 6pm I saw a mouse run across the floor in my living room - I found Greenhow in a google search - I thought their organic methods were nice, but I was really just desperate to get rid of the mice, and they offered a guarantee. The woman I talked to on the phone was on her way home for the night but instead came into the city to do an estimate for us. She stayed for over an hour, examining every possible spot where mice could get in. She scheduled a service appointment for the next morning. The next morning, Sean and his crew came over and spent about 2 hours getting rid of old poison traps, filling gaps in walls and floors, and pulling appliances away from the walls to look for entry points. They actually found 2 very large holes behind the cabinets that had been left by the contractor - the previous exterminator had never found these. Not only did Greenhow plug the holes, they built up the bottom of the cabinet with wood so that there would be no entry point for any additional mice. I was absolutely amazed at how thorough the job was. They come back once a month for 3 months to check the traps and look for additional signs of infestation. Since their initial visit there has not been another sighting, even though they've been back twice to check. Their service is more expensive than some of the others - but it is SO worth it. I feel like I just threw my money away with the other exterminator. They are also really nice people - it feels like a family business that really cares about their customers and takes their concerns seriously. They always call a few days after service to make sure you're happy, they come back at no charge if you see droppings after they leave - their customer service is amazing. If you have small children or pets, their organic methods are an added bonus. I just can't say enough positive things about them.

Sean discussed the problem on the phone & from that conversation, I knew he was the right person. Called & came when appt made. thorough examination of home, treatment protocol written out and quickly started treatment of infestation. Once a month return visits included. Very ecologically committed.

Sean did an outstanding job addressing a mouse problem that a previous exterminator did not address very thoroughly. My home is now impenetrable.

Sean first came to assess the yellow jacket infestation under corner trim boards of our house (right outside the main entrance of our home!). He thoroughly examined the location, then examined the entirety of the house for additional infestation. After his initial treatment for the yellow jackets, he returned the following day to verify his treatment had worked. A few angry bees remained and Sean returned later that evening for a second full extermination at no additional charge. He then returned the following day to seal all entries/exits. Sean was exemplary on all counts, but what was most impressive was his knowledge and enthusiasm about green solutions. He made numerous helpful suggestions about lawn care, climate control in our damp basement, and many more subjects unrelated to his actual service call. His suggestions proved to be well-timed and valuable for us. He could not have been more pleasant or accommodating.

Greenhow showed up exactly when they said they would. The lawn work was performed perfectly...it's greener and healthier than it's ever been. We found the Greenhow staff to be very professional and knowledgeable. We've used many lawn and pest control services over the years and have always been disappointed in one way or another. Greenhow is a giant step above these other companies!

Sean was very responsive to my email inquiry and came out within a week to analyze my lawn and soil. He explained the different levels of organic treatment, benefits, etc. He was up front with his price quote and very understanding of my needs. The $49 was for soil analysis, and I plan to use GreenHow for my annual lawn fertilization starting next year.

Sean and his team did an excellent job of addressing a well established hornet colony in the eaves of my home, and ants that had made their way into my kitchen this rainy summer. They were extremely responsive, and proactively called me to come back to make sure that the problem was fully addressed. The hornet colony was more difficult to exterminate, and the team was happy to come out several times until there were no more hornets. More importantly, I was happy to have the services provided without adding more toxic chemicals to the environment.

Sean was very responsive via email and phone. On his first visit he spent nearly 45 minutes looking at the lawn taking soil samples, explaining different pest and fertilizer options and entertaining my 3 year old son. His attention to detail and his willingness to discuss the details of options was a major selling factor to me. He was able to write up a quote on the spot that was very price competitive. Once I selected him (Friday) he was able to have the work completed by the following Tuesday.

They have been fabulous. They are organic. They have been fantastic and on top of things. I signed up for a yearly program. They took their time with me and they answered all my questions. It has been amazing.
