Pride Services and General Contracting

Once again Joe did a great job! The vinyl wallpaper was difficult to remove but took less than a day. We are very happy with the finished product in the bathroom. Came out better than expected. The playroom also came out great. Joe was very responsive when we called him to come back to paint some additional rooms. He was able to set a date and stick to it. He pays attention to detail and makes sure the job is done right. We will definitely be calling Joe to come back and paint for us.

Joe was courteous, prompt, and professional. We would use him again.

Joe did a nice job replacing the wooden trim on my garage doors. He recommended using the man made trim so there isn't any more maintenance to be done and it's not going to rot any more. He replaced any rot that was found. Went with Joe to pick up the materials and I paid for them on the spot. No markups on the materials. :) This job took about 7 hours to finish and was well worth the money.

Joe did a great job cleaning the house and deck. Lots of mold on one side of the house and it came out spotless. Took up most of the day to complete the job but the house looked really good.

The job started right on time but it was slow going at first. It was the peak of summer weather and all the sub-contractors were busy on other projects. Joe persevered and by week two the job was fully staffed and running smoothly. As clapboard was removed more damaged wood was discovered but I was kept updated every step of the way and involved in the decision-making process. The job did end up more labor and time-consuming than we originally planned but there were no surprises. The painting ended up getting delayed a few times due to rain (and extensive shading on two sides of my house) but I am totally happy with the finished product. I already have two smaller (interior) projects planned to do this winter with this contractor. We put off doing work on our house because we anticipated only stress. This experience was pretty painless; I just wish we called Joe sooner.

After performing one job several weeks ago, I had Joe from Pride Services give me a quote on re-staining my garage floor. After doing some prep work on the floor myself, I re-negotiated the original contract price with Joe. Again, Joe gave me a very reasonable and favorable price for the work that surpassed other contractor's quotes. And as before, he did a fantastic job on the garage floor. He even came back the next day to do some touch-up work and to make sure it met his ( and my ) expectations. I was very pleased with the work. He was neat, efficient and everything was cleaned up and put away in my basement when the job was finished. Looking forward for him to perform another task in my basement soon.

We had purchased a big deal for the services, and it went really well.

Overall I was very happy with Joe's work. He was very professional, reasonable on price and paid close attention to detail. Joe painted the entry way walls and ceiling. He also painted the family room. Both rooms are on the larger side and I was very happy with the price and finished job. I would definately hire him again for future projects. He also painted some trim in these rooms just to freshen it up. Thanks Joe!

aJoe replaced some old stairs that were unsafe. Joe always answered my calls in a timely manner and was always pleasant. I hired him for my mother since she fell down the stairs and broke 3 ribs. My mother is very happy and she said to me ?that these stairs were the strongest in the house and would last longer than the house?. Joe suggested that there be a handrail. I was impressed that he took the time to make such a suggestion. The stairs are safe and I am very happy for that. I am very pleased that my mother is pleased and I will be having Joe do some work done at my residence. I would recommend Joe to my friends and family. oh, I almost for got to put this in, Joe wasted no time and went wright to work!!

and they were highly over-priced. Joe did a fantastic job on my baseboard heaters. He applied several coats, as I requested, and did so without getting any paint on the walls or flooring. He was very efficient, neat and cleaned up everything. He came back early the very next day to re-attach the baseboard covers and assisted me in moving my furniture back in place. And because the work was completed earlier than expected, Joe reduced the cost from the original agreed upon price. I very seldom ever see that happen with contractors. I was very pleased with Joe's work and he did exactly what he said he would. I was also pleasantly surprised and grateful that he reduced the original cost for the work performed. That experience told me that he is fair, honest and not just out to make a buck. Because of the quality of his work ( and the great price ) on this job, I plan on Joe coming back to do some repair work in my basement in addition to painting the garage floor. I would highly recommend him!

This was a special Angie's List deal, three hours of service for $99. I was very impressed with this gentlemen. (Joe Huber). He called ME to set up the appointment, I didn't have to chase him. His work was excellent. Very friendly. He is very efficient, and seems to know how to fix/install/do a large number of things. He was prompt, and called to tell me he was on his way. When I needed a warped kitchen drawer rebuilt, he knew who to bring it to, and he brought it back to me within a week. It sounds as if he has a lot of contacts in the general contracting field. I would not hesitate to call him again.

We used Pride Services this month to paint our great room and fix a door. Joe was professional and did a fabulous job. We have had bad luck with contractors in the past so we signed up for Angie's List to find someone we could trust and I am so glad we did! He did such a good job that I have recommended him to my employer to do some work. You cannot go wrong with Pride!

I purchased one of Pride Services "Deal of the Day" which was for 3 hours of handyman services. I met Joe (the owner of Pride Services() on the morning of the service. He was punctual and friendly. He performed all the services I requested and made sure everything was installed correctly and safely. He first installed three (3) floating shelves in my family room. These shelves were installed quite high (approximately12 feet high). Joe brought the appropriate tools and equipment for the installation. Joe then replaced a ceiling fan in our bedroom and installed a mini chandelier in our closet. He also installed a mini chandelier in my guest bedroom. Joe then changed out some door hinges, hardware and hinges. I wanted to go from polished brass to a oil rubbed bronze. Joe made sure these change outs were done properly and that the doors were hung correctly when he finished. I would definitely use Pride Services again. I felt I got a good value for my money. I have a few more things that Joe will come back and take care of at another time.

Pride Services has done a good job. He's a very helpful, easy to work with, personable person who is very accessible. He always returns phone calls. I was very satisfied with the work Joe did and would highly recommend him. He is very easy to work with, his price was fair and most importantly the quality of his work is excellent. Joe completed the job as if it was is own home. We ran into several pre-existing issues throughout the construction (i.e. walls not plumb) but Joe was always able to overcome all issues and the basement looks great.

From the start Joe was prompt and professional, he provided a quote via e-mail right away and wrote us a nice note about how he would liek to work with us. Joe did a great job of completing the job on budget and in a timely fashion. His quality is high and his prices are fair. I am picky and Joe was right on board with making sure that the job was done right. Joe took extra focus to make sure to not damage my historic railing on the stairs and his work areas were kept clean. He always kept me in the loop on decisions and ideas that he had. He always kept me in the loop before doing anything other than what we had planned. It is clear that Joe has "pride" in his work and is a pleasant person to work with.

This is a smaller company and we wanted someone a little larger, just to have the flexibility in case we ran into any problems. Their cost was virtually identical, and they were very professional and conscientious to interact with. We have no complaints, we just wanted to work with a larger company.

Very well. Joe is punctual, personable & professional. I had asked for 3 estimates & Joe was NOT the cheapest, but he was the most honest. The experience was very positive for us & we look forward to seeing Joe again.

It went reasonably well. Weather led to some delays and timing conflicts with some other jobs limited resources but we were advised of each delay in advance and were not inconvenienced by them. Very satisfiedwith final product.

This is the second job we hired Pride Services to complete. Joe gave us a very reasonable quote for the repair of rotted wood on our deck. He exlained how the damage occurred from lack of spaces between the boards to allow proper drainage as well as termite damage. Joe explained how he would replace the wood and prevent future damage. The job was completed in a very timely manner and to our complete satisfaction. Going above and beyond, Joe also fixed our screen door to prevent scratching the deck floor (at no additional cost). We are very pleased with the quality of Joe's work and would highly recommend Pride Services. We plan to use them again for future projects.

This is the third job we hired Pride Services to complete. Joe gave us a competitively priced quote for the job. He pointed out problem areas of wood rot and explained what needed to be done to fix it. He explained his painting and repair process from preparation to completion. He power-washed the entire house and deck first. In tandem he did the painting and the repairs. His painting style involves two methods - spraying followed by brushing. He explained that this allows the stain to soak deeper into the wood. Joe kept us involved in the repair process by showing us the extent of the damage and explaining how he would repair it. When the painting was done, he explained how to better care for our house so that the paint job will last longer. Joe also installed a front storm door which required building onto the existing door frame. Joe is extremely detail-oriented. He takes the time to make sure the job is done perfectly. His work is not done until his customer is 100% satisfied. On this job Joe added exterminator and gutter cleaner to his resume (at no additional cost to us)- he always goes above and beyond our expectations. We highly recommend Pride Services and we plan to hire them again for future projects. We have also referred our friends and neighbors to Joe for work on their homes.

The job went very well. We knew what we wanted from the start and as the job progressed Joe made good suggestions on how we could make better use of space and add to the overall look of the rooms. There were challenges as in any job but Joe has pride in the end work product and saw to anything that did come out up to standards.Joe was able to save us money using resources he has from his experience in the business. The finished space is wonderful. It was built as a sort of man cave but it is so pleasant down there that the cave is often intruded upon as other family members enjoy the quiet and comfortable space. It was a joy to work with Joe on this project. It came out above my expectations.

In preparing my mother's home for sale, I wanted to make sure I had "curb appeal". One of the detriments was an old wooden storm door on the front entry. Pride Services was able to find the odd size and install the modern door. The glass certainly improved the look of of the home. With a little paint to the door and trim at the front entry I have a far more welcoming look than before.

. The job went very well. Joe gives you a detailed estimate of what will be done and breaks down the steps so you both know what the expectations are. I like this. Pride Services had access to our home where we have pets while we were away. The job was a little challenging because one of the rooms had a very strong color and was being painted a strong color. The ceiling was not being done so the work around the ceiling had to be perfect. It was. The doors and trim were painted as well as the walls. The job came out great and the pets were safe. The rooms had to be started and finished while we were away for 5 days and it was completed and everything back in place when we came home. Joe had worked for me before at my mother's house and at my work and is now finishing my basement.

The job went very well. I was unsure what to do to prepare the home to be sold. I had shown the home twice and had some negative feedback. Joe from Pride Services came in as one of the bidders on the job and made recommendations on what to do to keep the expense in control but improve the appearance and condition of the home. His estimate was reasonable and the way he approached the job impressed me. He informed me of areas of concern and explained how he would resolve the problem areas. Even though he told me of the challenges that could be faced so that I was informed he had a very "can do" and "this is what has worked in the past" attitude. The home was my mothers and I wanted to make the best decisions and Joe was there with advice and experience. The job was completed on time so the house could be shown at its best and within budget. Pride Services went on to do work for my employer at the Cathedral of St. John in Providence as well as at my own residence. He did additional carpentry jobs at my mother's house. Joe is a great person to work with, is versatile, knowledgeable and highly skilled.
