"He was always on time. I had quite a few jobs in my 3rd family home. The work was completed quickly and at a very reasonable price. The following is a quick overview of what he accomplished: removed and replaced existing kitchen sink and base cabinet, 60" counter and faucet. Installed a built-in microwave. Removed and replaced a kitchen backsplash. Obtained plumber and electrician to complete water shutoffs, removal of ceiling fan and install of light. Repaired leaks associated with radiator. Installed and repaired electrical outlets and replaced programmable thermometer. I felt very comfortable with Mr. Lockney in my home and secure that he would find quality professionals to work with. He even took it upon itself to straighten a cabinet door that had been crooked for a long time. I would not hesitate to recommend him."
Description of Work: Mother owns 3 family in Brockton. Needed provider to help her given renters had left unit in terrible disarray. Mr. Lockney did a great job in repairing and providing a plumber and an electrician to complete the job.

I contacted Bill thru Angie's List email and heard back almost immediately. He set up a convenient Saturday appointment to look at my projects. He arrived on time and spent a considerable amount of time with me as I explained what I needed. He answered all of my questions and offered suggestions. I received the proposal within a week detailing the projects and the cost. Bill impressed me immediately as he is a communicator! I emailed questions and concerns about the proposal and got repsonses right away. We set a date for the shed project and he and his team arrived as promised. They discovered the wood needed more repair work than first thought but that was not a problem - they replaced the wood as needed. I supplied Bill with paint we had used on the shed in the past, after two coats we realized it was not quite the right color to match the house. Bill said "no problem" and proceeded to buy paint to match the house and have his team put a third coat on. The shed looks brand new! His work is excellent, his crew is professional and they clean up when they leave for the day. I was so impressed with Bill we are on to the second project - he is coming back in December to remodel a bathroom.

We have had Bill and his crew build us a rear deck before which turned out great, Bill himself suggested that we should probably take care of the windows bf it gets worse. He is very busy these days so we had to wait thru the summer but he eventually made the time to come out. As always, he found some really nice trim features that matched the old ones and they ripped out the old ones along with some wood siding that got rotten underneath. Kenny - his assistant worked for a couple of days and in the end, the three of them worked together and finished the project. They ended up replacing some of the siding, sealing up the rotten wood, also installing the new trims and flashing on top, and finally, they primed everything. There was a small mishap of spilled primer on the deck by Brad, but Kenny came out especially on Saturday and sanded it all of so you could not even tell. Overall, they are just super nice guys to work with.
Description of Work: Bill and his team replaced exterior wood trims above 13 windows in our colonial 3-family house. Wood there was rotten bc flashing was not installed properly

All I can say is WOW!!!! Bill and his team did an incredible job completely rehabing our master bathroom. Bill was able to see what I envisoned and the end result is beyond what I had originally imagined. His attention to detail is beyond what you would expect from any contractor.... I truly mean this. Bill and his crew (Kenny & Brad) made sure our home was completely clean before they left every work day. The attention to detail that Bill and his people exhibited shows that he is not just a good contractor but truly loves what he does. Bill also used the best of the best for his sub-contractors (plumber, painter, electrician and tiler). I knew exactly what to expect from Bill at every juncture during the process....he and his team were never late and never made promises that they didn't make good on. I wouldn't consider hiring anyone but Bill for other projects I have coming up around our home. I wish there was a rating on Angie's List higher than just an "A". Bill and his team deserve much more.......

Bill is professional, reasonable and flexible to work with. Responds quickly to emails, etc. We were happy with the work he and his subcontractors did and would use him again. I notice a complaint about him not returning calls. Like other Angie's list contractors who start to accumulate lots of A reviews they get extremely busy. But over a 6 month period (Bill was willing to wait for us to do some finishing work ourselves) I always got a prompt reply to an email to him.

I can't say enough good things about working with Bill and his crew. I have worked with him on a number of projects in my home and mentioned to him last fall that I wanted to rebuild my porch in the spring. We met in early May to discuss what I wanted to have done. Bill had some great ideas that would keep with the look and feel of my 100+ year old home. I had the estimate from him within a week, permits were pulled and the project was started right after Memorial Day. The project took longer than expected, due to the heavy rain we received in June but I couldn't be happier with the finished product. It is absolutely beautiful and I've received several compliments from people who pass the house. Bill is a true professional. I can always get in touch with him, either by phone, text or email. He has great ideas and truly cares about his clients and the work he does. I would recommend Breeze Carpentry to anyone who needs a contractor.
Description of Work: Bill and his crew completely rebuilt my old, rotting front porch, remodeled the second floor balcony and repaired the water damage from the balcony to my bedroom ceiling. I have an old home and the style of the railings/columns is pretty ornate. I've had to strip and repaint it a few times in the last 10 years and did not want to deal with that anymore. Bill replaced decking, railings, columns and staircase with PVC and composite decking so that I would never have to paint again. The second floor balcony was pitched into the house so that whenever it rained, water would accumulate on the floor and come through into my bedroom ceiling. Bill framed out the new decking away from the house, installed new composite decking and PVC handrails. His painter, Tony, ripped all of the water damaged plaster out of my ceiling, made all necessary repairs and repainted the entire ceiling.

Bill and his crew were fantastic! Such a pleasure and easy to work with. They were there two days, arrived on time and cleaned the entire site both days. They were quiet , respectful and polite the entire job. I was even impressed my his care for nearby plants and landscaping. His estimate was right on par with his work. Although he wasn't the cheapest estimate I received, his price was fair and I am more than happy that I chose him over the competitors. I wanted to completely hide the old stoop and freshen up the entry way to our home without overdoing it. My husband and I are thrilled with the result. Thanks for the wonderful work! I will definitely keep your company in mind if and when I need more work done.
Description of Work: Covered up old concrete stoop with new wood decking and new hand railings and stairs. He expanded the size of the previous stoop and installed wooden slats along the sides to hide the old stoop. He also added door molding and in doing so had to remove old siding and install new flashing and new siding. He painted all the new door work and new siding.

I first contacted Bill Lockney of Breeze Carpentry & Construction in February of 2013. I met with two other contractors last winter, but eventually chose Bill because of his energy, enthusiasm and his instant understanding of what I wanted to accomplish in somewhat limited space. I needed a small 1/2 bathroom to be transformed into a full bathroom, for safety issues to be addressed, and for this "new" bathroom to retain a vintage vibe in keeping with the rest of the cottage Bill's job proposal was detailed, thoughtful and thorough. When I reconsidered a small part of the project demolition, Bill even took the time to come out to the job site again, for a much appreciated second consultation and estimate. The project time line was "locked in" the end of March, with a start date at the end of April, and a promise to be finished before June. That time line was of the upmost importance, as the property is rented in the summer months. I have only the highest praise for Bill Lockney and the team of professionals that work with him. He skillfully coordinated the schedules and the efforts of all the talented people that routinely work with him: his assistant Brad, Andrew the electrician, John the plumber, Ken the plasterer, Tony the painter, and Tony's assistant Beccah. I was always kept informed of project progress, and of any needed scheduling changes that occurred over the course of the entire four week renovation process. (Any such changes were beyond our control, the result of Town inspections and sign-offs being rescheduled). Basically, the lines of communication were always open with Bill, a rare and wonderful thing. I would recommend Breeze Carpentry & Construction to anyone who values great craftsmanship, honesty, integrity and diligence. Everybody on that team was professional, personable and pleasant to deal with, and treated my treasured, family home with genuine care. Bill is a contractor that really listens to his clients, and he is just as concerned as each of those clients with a wonderful outcome. He cares about the quality of his work. Some of my parting words to Bill were to describe what I thought my own role needed to be during the entire project,..to be a "facilitator", a client who ensured that all the owner supplied products were in his hands in a timely way to avoid delays, and that the working environment was as user friendly as I could make it...without getting in the way. I believe that the client should be an active member of the project team...the customer could be considered the project CFO after all. But I told Bill that the most important role was definitely his, that of talented quarterback who was calling the plays and making it all happen. I would hire Bill and his crew again in a heartbeat, not only for my beloved cottage, but for my primary residence as well.
Description of Work: The renovation of a 1/2 bathroom at my summer home, involving the expansion into a small, adjacent bedroom in order to accommodate a new, fiberglass shower enclosure. Because of the poor condition of the existing ceiling and flooring, I made the decision to have the relatively small, half bath gutted down to the studs. Some of the numerous installations included: building the new shower stall area in space that was formerly part of a bedroom, installing two new bedroom walls, installing new plaster board and a great, smooth finish to all the bathroom walls and ceiling, installing the attic duct work and exterior vent necessary for the new, humidity sensing exhaust fan. The electrical installations included: a new exhaust fan/light and a 4 way function switch, a recessed shower stall light, new medicine cabinet sconces, a new GFI outlet, and a relocated oil burner switch. The plumbing installations included: a new drain system for the new shower, as well as a new vent tube for the toilet and sink, and a new shower valve, shower hose, and water saving, hand held shower head. The relatively new toilet, a vintage medicine cabinet, and the "owner restored", vintage wall sink were reinstalled. Final bathroom installations included shower doors, new vinyl flooring, new baseboards, new wainscoting (bead board) with a chair rail, and all "finish" fixtures such as grab bars, soap and toothbrush holders, and a customized double towel bar. The new paint job in the bathroom is impeccable, allowing Bill's wonderful bead board installation to literally "shine".

Thanks so much! It was truly a pleasure to work for a client that was so prepared and helpful with the process of transforming a tiny half bath into a user friendly full bath. Aside from this client being a "Dream"to work for, it was a great experience to actually reuse and refurbish some of the items that were original to the home. Mixed with new safety features and durable products, I think we did a great job capturing the vibe of the home and making everything flow. I could't be more happy and proud of our team. Thanks again and we look forward to working with you in the future.

Bill met us at our cottage in March. He listened to what we had in mind and offered design ideas of his own that we went with. He demolished the old bathroom down to the studs, same with the floor. Found some rotting floor joists and some mold. He replaced the joists and got rid of the mold. He insulated the walls, installed new plumbing, new drywall, new octagon tile floor, new toilet, new vanity, medecine cabinet, new overhead light and outside ducted exhaust fan. He painted the walls and ceiling. He also reconfigured the closet space in the bathroom. The hot water heater is in one of the closets and Bill built an enclosure around the hot water heater protecting flammable material like toilet paper from getting too hot. He installed two new louvered doors on both closets. He also replaced a cheap hollow luan door with a solid wood one that he stained to match the existing woodwork. Bill also built a beautiful outdoor shower and enclosure using Douglas fir. He used river stones and pavers for the permeable floor. He also built an enclosure of an ugly propane tank to match the outdoor shower.

We contacted Breeze Carpentry (Bill Lockney) to request an estimate on this project. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time, and inspected the proposed bathroom area as well as the basement. Within 3 days we received a detailed estimate along with a drawing of the bathroom. We contacted several references (all gave glowing reviews!), and contracted with Bill to complete the job. From start to finish, Bill and his crew surpassed our expectations. When Bill said he'd have something completed within a certain time frame, it was done. If an issue came up during construction, he made sure we knew exactly what the issue was and how it would be corrected. Each day the work space was left clean and neat. Everyone, from the plumbers to the electrician to the very talented painter, Tony, and Bill himself all did an outstanding job-the bathroom is beautiful! We couldn't be more pleased, and will absolutely call Bill again. A nice bonus-Bill, Tony & the crew were incredibly nice to our dog & cats! Our dog misses them & wants them to come back soon (so do we!) If you want a job done the right way, and want it to look amazing, Bill is your guy! We highly recommend Breeze Carpentry!
Description of Work: Built a 1/2 bath off the kitchen, in an area formerly occupied by the washer & dryer. This involved removing 4 cabinets, as well as relocating the laundry to the basement. Walls were constructed, old plumbing was replaced and rerouted. The project also required new wiring in the 1/2 bath area, as well as the basement, discovery & repair of damaged joists (old house!), and installation of 12" floor tiles, pedestal sink, toilet, mirror, and light fixture.

I contacted Bill from Breeze to talk about my bathroom remodel. He immediately scheduled a time to come by and look things over. We discussed what I was looking for and Bill even made some suggestions that I hadn't thought of. It was clear from the very begining that he knew what he was doing. Bill provided me with an estimate within a few days and it was right in line with my expectations. The whole project took less than 2 weeks to complete. Much faster than I anticipated. Bill and his crew showed up every day ontime and I noticed significant progress after every day. The scheduling of the inspections was handled perfectly. There was no downtime waiting for inspectors. The work of the crew was very professional. Everything from the tile floor/shower, bathrub installation, new vanity and wall skim coating came out flawless. I was particularly impressed with the care that was taken with the rest of my house. All debris was cleaned up every day. Paper was put down to protect my hardwood floors with all the foot traffic going up and down the stairs to the second floor, and there was very little dust from the construction. All the work was handled professionally, within budget and with quality workmanship. Breeze Carpentry and Construction will be the first contractor I call for my next home project
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel. Gutted and removed everything from existing bathroom(originally built 1987). Installed new vanity with granite countertop. Installed new toilet, bathtub, and sink including all fixtures. Installed new tile floor and tiled entire shower area (three walls and ceiling). Replaced vanity light, shower light and exhaust fan with all new pieces. Skim coated all walls and ceiling for extra smooth finish. Installed all towel racks, new mirror and curved shower curtain rod.

I could write a novel about Bill and his crew, but I?ll keep this to a short story. I was anticipating my bathroom remodel to be done in January 2013. I had met with three other contractors prior to Bill and at that point, I had yet to find one that I felt comfortable with to do the job. I contacted Bill of Breeze Carpentry & Construction through Angie?s List in late September 2012 to request an estimate. Bill responded within 24 hrs on a very positive note indicating that my timeline worked well with his project schedule. I informed Bill that a meeting on a Saturday would work best for my schedule. Bill was very accommodating and we scheduled a meeting for the 1st Saturday in October. Bill was punctual (a rarity for a contractor and definitely made a great 1st impression). I immediately felt at ease speaking with him about my bathroom project. I provided Bill with a detailed drawing of how I envisioned my new bathroom. Bill took notes and pictures of the bathroom and discussed in great detail what the renovation would entail. He patiently answered all of my questions and made suggestions that gave me food for thought. I was extremely impressed with Bill?s professionalism, his knowledge of the business, and his personality reflected that he genuinely cared that his work provided client satisfaction. The meeting was very positive and within a week I received a competitively priced detailed proposal of my project as discussed in our meeting via email followed by a hard copy in the mail. Once we agreed upon a start date, it was full throttle ahead. Bill acquired all necessary permits and all job inspections were signed off and handled flawlessly. I felt comfortable with Bill and his crew working in my home when I wasn?t there. They even worked Saturdays and the holiday to stay on schedule. Bill provided frequent updates and if he had any questions or concerns, he would consult me before proceeding with that particular aspect of the job. Most times it is unknown what problems or minor issues will occur until you get into a job. For example: my bathroom fan?s hose runs under my unfinished attic floor and needed to be vented to the exterior. Upon removing the attic floor, Bill and his electrician Andrew discovered that the hose was not sufficiently sized and also that my dryer vent hose which also runs under my unfinished attic floor had a hole in it and the lint/dirt was being blown back into and out around the hose. Needless to say, I was happy that Bill discovered this problem. Another example, I had mentioned to Bill during our first meeting that I anticipated finishing my attic within the next year or two. Bill remembered that part of our conversation and suggested that it would be a lot easier down the road if the piping could be run to the attic while the wall was open in the bathroom. Since I have a half bath on the first level, that wall would have to be opened as well, but it was a relatively simple thing to open up one wall now instead of two walls later down the road. I agreed and the increase to my original quote was minimal and well worth it to get that aspect of the attic project done now. Bottom line: Not only is Bill diligent in providing his clients with superior workmanship, but he cares, he ?listens? and he ?hears? every word. He also has great suggestions. If you have a question or concern, Bill makes himself available to his clients, whether you reach him by text message, email or phone, you will always hear back from him in a timely manner. My friends and family are not only in awe of my new bathroom, but found it amazing that I found a contractor who genuinely cares about his customers? satisfaction. My new bathroom is MAGNIFICENT! I concur with previous Angie?s List members who have had the wonderful experience of working with Bill and his crew. I highly recommend Breeze Carpentry and Construction. They know their stuff folks and you can?t go wrong hiring Breeze Carpentry and Construction. They are professional, trustworthy, honest, friendly and they do awesome work. I can?t wait for them to tackle my attic. Keep up the fantastic work Breeze!

We scheduled the appointment for 11am on Saturday. Bill showed up at 11am on Saturday exactly as we discussed. We had other companies that were supposed to come in earlier call that morning to change the time to later, some that were to come in later wanted to come in earlier, Bill was right on time without a glitch. We reviewed the job together and Bill quickly shows how knowledgeable he is, describing all of the work that needs to be done, seeing through the walls & floors to identify drain & vent locations etc. While we chose another company to actually complete the work (this company seems to have given a bargain price, we'll see if we regret this choice), the experience with Breeze/Bill was top notch and I would have fully trusted him to do a beautiful job. We will be inviting Breeze back to walk through all of the other projects in our old fixer upper.
Description of Work: We scheduled a time with Breeze (Bill Lockney) to review & provide an estimate for a second floor bathroom complete renovation.

We hired Breeze Carpentry because we were impressed with how knowledgeable Bill was from the first time we met him and he gave a competitive estimate with a very detailed explanation of the work that was to be performed; it was broken down to the point of what items we needed to buy vs. what he provided so there was no confusion. We scheduled the work with Bill a few months in advanced; he never asked to move the date and the project started on time. During this time he was very responsive to questions we had regarding materials and measurements for the different fixtures and tiles we were thinking about using during the project. Once the work started Bill and his crew worked quickly and cleanly; I was very comfortable with Bill and his subs being in my house without my wife or I there; they were all very trustworthy, friendly and willing to answer any questions as it was obvious they all took a lot of pride in what they were doing. Bill was very up front with any issues that came up and didn't try to cut corners anywhere; any extra costs that he incurred were communicated right away with a detailed explanation as to why they were necessary. Bill was also focused on making sure that we were happy with the work and he updated us almost daily on what was going on with the project, I was very happy with the communication both in frequency and the level of detail that it was delivered and Bill made sure that we understood everything that was going on. The quality of the workmanship was top notch; our bathroom has a lot of unique curves to it and all of the baseboard and tile work is seamless and came out incredible! Our bathroom is now the nicest room in the house. I can't say enough good things about Breeze Carpentry and we will definitely be calling Bill in the future.
Description of Work: We had a bathroom that was total gut job; meaning the fixtures, ceiling, walls, windows, sub-floor and the mold in between them all had to be ripped out and replaced.
