Mr. Handyman of Central MetroWest

Spent all day putting up drywall (only about 30 sq ft) and even less beadboard up in my small 1/2 bath. It's a small space so a little annoying to work in but none of it was finished well and I think I could have done it faster. Certainly it took so long that i still ended up doing much of the harder work (e.g. trim) which wasn't helped by the fact that much of the work wasn't done well and i had to redo some of the seams. WOuldn't have been unhappy about it at $400-$500 but $900 for one day of at best OK work was not something I would recommend. They offered a coupon (for future work) when I mentioned that I thought the service was seriously overpriced.

Great experience from start to finish - from scheduling an estimate through the finish. The crew was efficient, considerate, clean, and punctual. The end product looks amazing - better than we had anticipated. They certainly went above and beyond our expectations and we couldn't be happier. Would highly recommend.

It all went very well. Bob was on time and showed me his ID right away. he had all the tools needed for what turned out to be a very difficult door installation and even more difficult screen door installation. My dad had him also fix a soffit that had been damaged by squirrels a couple years ago and fix some porch steps. All done very well. Bob worked all day and didn't even take a lunch break.

They arrived promptly, inspected the door surround for any sign of rot, explained to us what could be done to reset it properly with the existing door, completed the repair very well and installed new trim in a reasonable amount of time (and despite poor weather.) They were very professional and poilite and even inquired as to whether the noise of the equipment would disturb our sleeping little one. We are very happy with the work and will definitely have them back.

First of all, they had a team meeting for some inane reason, and they failed to call me to tell me that they would be 30 minutes late, which really ticked me off. Their prices are exhorbitant, and I found a provider who finished the painting for half the price. Granted, Mr. Handyman did give me a slight discount for being later while not informing me, but my having to call and ask where they were when they were already late was extremely unprofessional on their part. With the cut rate provider that I used to finish the job, I won't be contacting Mr. Handyman again.

The technician who came on Monday 7/21/14 did a good job on what little was actually done so I'm not complaining about quality. My problem is with the business model, customer service, and scheduling. I needed a hole in my kitchen ceiling repaired and a gutter cleaned and fixed. I made the first appointment I could make, which was for an unguaranteed "second appointment." I understood that there was a chance it wouldn't happen so wasn't too put out when it didn't work out. So I scheduled a guaranteed "first appointment" for the next opening on 7/24/14 so I'd be sure to get things fixed. On the Monday before that scheduled and guaranteed appointment, someone called to say a technician was available and could come work on my gutter today since 7/24/14 looked like it could possibly be raining. So I said OK, we can do the outside work today and the inside work 7/24/14. She agreed, the guy came, fixed the gutter, and left. Then customer service called and said they had expected their technician to carry on and fix my ceiling during that appointment. Unfortunately, they hadn't told him or me that. So meanwhile my guaranteed appointment disappeared, and now I'm waiting for another unguaranteed "second" appointment on 7/24/14, which doesn't look like it will happen since it is now mid-afternoon. I've called and asked about this appointment and have been told they would check and call me back in a "few minutes." That was 50 minutes ago and no one has called me back, plus I'm sure there's not enough of the day left to fix the hole in my ceiling anyway. So not only have I been jerked around in terms of scheduled appointments, in theory, I would pay extra if today's appointment worked out. You pay $149 for the first hour of work -- apparently every time a technician visits, so if you get the second visit of the day and there isn't time to do everything, you end up paying $149 for the next visit's first hour of work instead of the regular hourly rate. I guess the message from me is, don't fall for the "second" visit trick -- you won't have time to get everything you need done and you'll pay extra to get another visit! It's a strange business model and in my case, the scheduling and rescheduling wasted a lot of my time -- and I still have a hole in my ceiling.

Tom was fantastic. He arrived right on time ,ready to work. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, we had immediate rapport. He worked hard the entire time he was here, and the work he did was excellent. He was neat and cleaned up after himself. I would recommend him highly.

The Customer Service folks who took my calls and handled the appointments were very helpful and friendly. The appointment had to be changed due to heavy rain and the outdoor nature of the work and they advised me of such ahead of time and on that original date and helped me reschedule. I had the "second stop" appointment which meant the handyman went to the first job and completed it and advised customer service he was on the way and they did exactly that and called me to advise me of such. Bob showed up and gave me an estimate on the hours it would take for each job (gutters/siding) He then started working and didn't stop until he was done. He took some siding that was in rough condition (bent, some cracks) and managed to bang it into shape and get it up on the house. He advised me of the risks associated with the condition of the siding. He was very helpful in answering all my questions along the way. The job took about 15 minutes less time than he estimated originally - so he was pretty much on the nose. I would definitely use these folks again.

Excellent. I called and got a worker the same day. I was out for the morning and when I got home he was already up on the ladder digging away at the gutters. Renee (sp?) was professional, courteous, efficient. Took only 20 mins for lunch and then back at it. Cleaned up afterwards. I hate paying money for that stuff because I am capable of doing it, but as the list grows longer and longer I just don't have the time. I enjoyed the peace of mind having something checked off my to do list.

He came out in November. He did everything I needed to have done. He took the Air Conditioners out and put them away. He fixed a railing that was going down to my cellar. He did a lot of little things too. He also put outdoor furniture into an area of my home. He changed and replaced my carbon monoxide detectors. He also re-grouted my bathroom floor. He was able to do all this work for me in a couple of hours. I was so impressed with him and I even told everyone about him. He was efficient, observant even cleaned up too. I plan to call him back again.

Mike was on time and very professional. He explained each step that he would take and everything he would do. He was very professional and courteous.

I had a list and the handyman came at the agreed upon 7:30 a.m. and worked straight through until 4:30. I am having hardwood floors installed and needed his opinion as to what to do with 4 closet systems and he suggested that he take them out then put them back once the floors were installed which was perfect. He replaced cracked tiles along a shower and caulked two tubs. He also installed some bath bars and a mop bar, fixed my mail box which was mangled on a granite post from a plow and installed a latch for a shed. He didn't get to a couple of things but he has to come back for the closets and can do them then. He worked hard and I have no complaints!

his provider did a caulking around a roof that was leaking , told me that this may be a hard leak to track down. Gave me estimates or said he would look into several projects I want to do , fixed a bulkhead , caulked for a paint job coming up . In general I felt that the services were excellent and that they would "Listen" to my needs. organization of visit was also excellent along with a very capable handyman

I was very pleased. It was cleaned up everyday and everything was done with no mess.

Had handyman from Mr. Handyman (Ashland) over twice, now. Both times punctual (in fact, early). Workmanship & results were excellent -- exceeded my expectations. Did exactly what I wanted and did a better job even than I had hoped. Highly recommended.

Michael hires very respectful and helpful employees including those working in the office, and it shows. Last year I moved to a different location. Since having lived there in my home for over 55 years and not able to prepare for it myself. with all the stored items for relatives and my own belongings there was no way I could handle it all. Michael's men came and stuck with it every time I needed them. They safely moved everything from refrigerator, glassware, beds, knick-knacks. etc. to the new location. I could go on and on saying great things about this company. I will keep calling them for help and you should not hesitate either. I highly recommend Mr. Handyman Central MetoWest.

Micharl was very friendly. The cost for materials I did not know that after they purchase them(2 plywood sheets 2/6/8 and a few screws they still mark up the price even after you pay extra for their Van fee's(gas) and the time Michael spent going and coming back that could not have been 5 miles round trip. I hope others look at this and are careful if they choose them

Broke off top of drain cover. Did not clear clog. Drove off to buy new floodlight. On checking light, discovered old light only needed screwing in. Charged for new light and "van fee" for going less than 1/4 mile to buy it. Charged for time, new light, and taxes. I will have to buy a new faucet. DO NOT HIRE.

I will use him next time I need a Handyman

It was an excellent experience. Very professional, on time, courteous. I will definately call Mr. Handyman for any future general repairs that are necessary.

Overall I was relieved to get many little thing accomplished in one day.

We had an excellent experience. We used them in the fall of 2012, with a follow-up in April 2013. The door trim work looked good. The handyman found matching trim that a different provider could not find. Both handymen we've met were prompt and helpful. The company communicates frequently (scheduling, follow-up, etc.). There was a glitch resulting in a broken light fixture, which Mr. Handyman replaced. They handled all costs, ordering a new fixture and arranging for installation (which was complicated). Michael Campbell has been terrific and went out of his way to make sure we were happy at every step. This is the most responsive service company I've ever worked with. We will definitely use them again.

They got there quick, and did an awesome job.
