Wayne came on time, was very pleasant to deal with and most important was very thorough. He uncovered some hidden issues that resulted in a reduction of our sale price. The whole process was quick and easy and we would highly recommend him.

I contacted Wayne through Angie's list and he replied to my inquiry within 24 hours. We spoke over the phone and he went over what his inspection covered. He forwarded me a contract and additional information on home inspections via email. We set up an appointment to view the house. Wayne arrived promptly and quickly began his inspection. He began by viewing the outside of the home, taking photos as he went. After he went around the property once, we walked it together and he pointed out areas of concern while also providing me with basic information on the roof. Wayne's knowledge became apparent through his clear and concise explanations. We then moved into the home and he continued his inspection. He tested all of the outlets, ran the water checking for pressure and flow as well as temperature, and he also looked at the oil heating system. His interior inspection was as thorough as his exterior inspection and he found important things to follow up on. His report was completed within 24 hours and included clear descriptions of the areas we discussed. His report also included excellent photos that clearly showed the areas that required further investigation.

Buying a property in Boston is a very stressful process for a first-time home buyer. After viewing many places and failing many offers, we finally started to get our offers accepted. We heard Wayne from a friend of ours, who strongly recommended him. The contact was very easy, just one phone call, and he was there! He made the home inspection process as clear as possible to us. Wayne was a very detail-oriented, thorough and professional home inspector. He always responded to phone calls and emails. The home inspection took usually about 4 hours. He tirelessly walked around the property and checked every corner of the house. For the first property that we looked at, he immediately pointed out several structural problems that we did not even notice in the two viewings before. We felt fortunate that we found him and did not end up in a bottomless home remodeling and repair hole! Wayne was also efficient in keeping notes about the problems and wrote them up in in-depth reports. He never gave a quote or push a referral of contractor et al, which was another good sign. We were quite happy with the property that we found now, since Wayne had looked at it and he does not miss anything.

Wayne was an extremely thorough home inspector with great attention to all details. We accompanied him around the home during the inspection and he was very patient with all explanations to us. He has a system for providing Radon results sooner than other methods which we needed for the purchase timeframe of the property.

I was hesitant to use a source from Angie's List initially but after doing some searches, it appears that ProTech Consultants reviews are positive on Yelp and Google too. I had called the company up after hours on a Friday because I received word at the last minute that I needed to do a home inspection since my offer was accepted. Wayne and I got along right away and he took his time to explain the whole process after asking me some questions regarding the property. He made clear what his duties were and where he could help and where he couldn't, in which case, he said he would still present his findings even if they were not part of scope but needed attention. On the day of the inspection, Wayne showed up on time and did a thorough inspection of the condo unit. He was able find a few issues with the unit (there were leaks on a interior wall but not in plain sight and deteriorating conditions) and had the proper tools to make a logical determination. He was also able to figure out some critical issues with one of the vents that had nothing to do with the unit he was inspecting. In addition, the condo had loft ceilings and he wasn't afraid of taking his ladder everywhere to check for other potential leaks. He brought along a binoculars and went round the entire building making sure that things were ok. The report was made available the very next day and had everything he had briefed me before we left (and more). Even after the home inspection report had been sent, Wayne was reachable whenever I had questions regarding the report. Overall, I am satisfied and glad I was able to use ProTech Consultants and will use them again in the future. In my opinion, it was worth the premium price.

Wayne of Pro Tech Consultants provided an outstanding home inspection and exceeded all of our expectations. I totally support all of his exceptional reviews on this site; he is professional, punctual, attentive to details and spends as much time as necessary helping you to understand what he has found and the impact and implications of his observations. He splits his inspection into three parts: outside, basement, and interior, and spent about an hour on each of those areas. He documents any issues he finds with photos, and these photos are all included in his very detailed PDF report. We let Wayne first look over each area independently, and then we walked around with him as he summarized his findings and explained his recommendations on what should be done to correct the deficiencies. He identified many issues that may have been easily overlooked in a less "detail-oriented" inspection. He carefully explained all of his observations to us, and made sure we knew that he was readily available if we had any follow-up questions after we read his report. We give Pro Tech Consultants an unqualified high recommendation! We were completely satisfied with his work and would encourage everyone to engage him for their home inspection needs.

Wayne is FANTASTIC! I would never trust anyone else to evaluate a home you are about to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on. He is worth more his weight in gold. The very first time I bought a home I unfortunately didn't know about Wayne and did little research other than calling your standard home inspection company. I paid dearly for that ignorance as I ended up shelling out thousands of dollars in repairs for termite damage the home inspector missed. Lesson learned! When I sold my home and needed a new inspector, my friend recommended Wayne. Amazing! I couldn't believe the difference in a quality home inspector! He KNOWS what he's doing and he's such a pleasure to work with. Wayne promptly returned all of my calls, scheduling with him was easy, he showed up on time, he's incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. And more importantly, he is SO genuine - his energy just exudes trust. You can rest comfortably and have peace of mind because you know without a doubt, he is just as concerned about you buying a particular home - as if he was giving you the money to pay for it himself. He is so thorough and detailed orientated, he leaves no stone unturned. And one of the things I love most, he is so patient and will answer every single one of your questions honestly and to the best of his ability - even if its months down the road, it doesn't matter. He just wants to help. He will not overstep his bounds though and this speaks greatly to his character. He is truly a person of integrity. He will not advise you on things he doeesn't know or things that are not his place to answer, and I so admire this about him. Far too many contractors want to impress you with what they know, when really they don't know half of what they claim to know. And guess who has to make up the difference, most often financially! You have to be a strong person with strong ethics to honor your boundaries and this is Wayne. So while other inspectors might waste your time, feeding their own egos, Wayne will respect your time and refer you to people who can provide support where he cannot. And the best only work with the best. If Wayne refers you to someone you can rest assured that these people are also the top in their fields. A home is the biggest purchase you will ever make and you need to surround yourself with people who will support you during the process. I walked away from one home thanks to Wayne's inspection - he saved me from making a huge mistake. You can't put a price tag on that peace of mind. I would never work with another home inspector - Iike everyone else, I only want the best. :-)

We've used Wayne for two inspections in the last two months, and each was n absolute pleasure. We've used several home inspectors over the years, and Wayne is by far my favorite. He was very thorough, and patiently explained his observations as he made them. We received his written report the same evening that the inspections were conducted, which was very helpful. Most valuably, he included pictures in his report so were able to visualize the issues that Wayne identified. We would use Wayne again in a heartbeat.

Wayne was prompt, kind, thorough and professional. He found and documented all the issues with the house, created a detailed report very quickly, and was kind, helpful, and responses to follow-up questions.. Most importantly, Wayne was able to "see the forest for the trees", putting issues in perspective about which were really serious and which were simple fixes and about the overall condition of the house. I would use Wayne again in a heartbeat.

I sent an email late Sunday night request an inspection appointment and Wayne returned a call early next morning to schedule the inspection within same week. Besides being very kind and easy going, he Wayne was very knowledgeable about all that can go wrong with a house and examined the house meticulously. The whole process lasted 3.5 hours of tireless examine, photographing and notes taking! His report is clearly written, very extensive covering all aspects of the house yet potential high cost defects highlighted. His inspection enable us to really see the house inside out and to make an informed decision on whether to go forward buying this house.

So everything externally went mostly smooth, but the moment Wayne reached the finished basement, his eyes widened like a seasoned detective. First step on the tiles and he said "Asbestos, be careful!" Granted, all asbestos is not a problem, which he did mention, it's not 'Friable', but he did caution me. Ok, I let that pass, probably cover it with a rug and keep the kids off. The bigger discovery came moments later when he spotted the first hole about the size of a pencil diameter in one corner. "Hmm...Termite treated. Be careful!" Ok this one scared me. A casual inspector would have definitely ignored the carefully color-matched, filled up holes that were used in the past for termite treatments, but not Wayne. Not saying that no one should ever buy a home that has been treated for termites in the past. Just saying that you shouldn't buy it if the owner doesn't live there, there are no disclosures and the property is being sold as is. So that ended that home for me. Sure I lost $700 but probably saved thousands more. Good job Wayne!

Wayne was great! My wife and I were buying our first home, and wanted to make sure we got a good, thorough inspection. Wayne spent four hours at the house, was happy to have me follow him around and answer questions, and had a clear, thorough and methodical process. He looked at the structure of the house and the systems in it, and picked up on several issues we wouldn't have found ourselves until after moving in. We received his report -- a PDF file with many pictures -- by email the same evening. He also included radon testing as well. I was extremely satisfied with his service, and would recommend him highly.

We hired to Wayne to perform an inspection on a house we had planned to buy. Wayne was very professional, thorough, and pleasant to work with. He had the courtesy to call just before the scheduled time to let us know he was running just a few minutes late, and didn't want us to get worried. He was only about 5 minutes late after all, but the call was appreciated. When he arrived, Wayne first walked us through his approach, and encouraged questions. Normally I would have liked to tour the house with him, but we had some other contractors in the house at the same time to provide estimates for some work we wanted to do, so I was a bit distracted. So Wayne went about his business and spent about 3.5 hours or so. When he was done, he too the time to summarize his findings, focusing on those he considered the most significant. The next day, a very nice, detailed, and well organized formal report arrived via email that captured all of the findings, including photos, where applicable. Each finding included a brief description of why this might be a concern (sometimes it's not obvious). In the end, we had to back out of the house purchase for reasons not directly related to the inspection. So we're still looking, and when we do find another house, we will be calling Wayne again.

He was very patient, pleasant and knowledgeable. He gave me detailed consultation on a concern I have over the HVAC system in my new house. He listened carefully, and gave me helpful suggestions on how to deal with the situation. At no time I felt rushed even knowing that this contact won't result in an inspection from him. I would definition consider his company in the future if I have an inspection need.

We hired Wayne because of his responsiveness and professionalism from the initial phone call. He made time in his schedule to perform a nearly 4 hour inspection on the house we were trying to buy during the tight deadline we had under our agreement with the sellers. Wayne was extremely thorough in his inspection and uncovered several potential hazards that previous home inspectors had missed. He alerted us to potential structural issues and further inspection by a structural engineer confirmed his suspicions. We ended up walking away from the house and are very thankful for Wayne helping us recognize a money pit! We will absolute hire Wayne to perform the inspection on the next home we try to purchase.

Wayne showed up when he said he would and went right to work. Prior to showing up, based on my description of our house, he had estimated that he might need 4-5 hours to complete his inspection. He actually ended up working for 7 hours. Since he works for a flat fee, he had no incentive to stay that long The fact that he did so is a true reflection of his thoroughness and professionalism. Throughout the day he provided us with updates and pointed out quite a few things that a less thorough inspector might have missed. he also did a great job of explaining things to us that we would not have otherwise understood. Wayne was great and I would highly recommend. In fact, a friend of mine dropped by during the inspection and, based on my recommendation, hired Wayne to inspect his own home this coming weekend!

After we won the bid on the condo, we needed to get the home inspection done quickly since we were going out of town the following week. Wayne managed to fit us into his schedule, and did a thorough home inspection within a few days. He found several major faults that other two home inspectors failed to notice or point out earlier this year. Our condo was the last of the three condos to be sold this year in the triple decker. Armed with this information, we got the owner to agree to fix the structural problems. This is the second time we used him. We found him to be very knowledgeable. Very little escapes his attention. So be prepared to find faults in the house (if they exist), because he will point them out. Wayne spends a lot of time inspecting the house. In our case, he took around 3 hours. His reports are extremely extensive, filled with pictures and detailed descriptions of any problem areas.

Wayne did an incredible job with our home inspection. My fiance and I are first time home buyers and were nervous to make sure we were buying a home in quality condition. Wayne was fantastic. He was able to fit us in on short notice (48 hours) and did a very through home inspection spending a 3-4 hours with me and explaining everything he was looking for. He also told me details about the house I would have needed to sort out on my own after moving in (such as where the main water supply shut-off was located). His report was timely and extremely detailed which makes the house repair list a little easier to swallow after purchasing and moving in. I was able to make the home purchase confidently and 3 months later we are sitting in our new unpacked home and have had no unexpected surprises about the condition of the house. Wayne was very professional and responded to questions promptly. He arrived earlier and did a thorough inspection in more than 4 hours at the property. Candid and objective comments were made on obervations during the process. Report prepared was an extremly useful document not only for purchasing the house but also serving as a good referece for me as future home owner. Pictures were imbeded which is excellent.
