Throughout the whole process the Great Sky team was communicative (almost more than I wanted). Expectations were set up front and met. Most importantly, attention was paid to installing my system in a manner than is ascetically pleasing and blends into my house. Over the past year and a half, the system has worked flawlessly and delivered more power than estimated.

They were great. Communication was excellent. Follow up has been excellent. Always there with answers and follow through. They create an excellent relationship that doesn't end when they finish the job. Most months we pay nothing for electricity. When we do it is a modest amount. Couldn't be happier.

Fast, and efficient. Punctual and responsive. I adjusted the installation from just the main roof to include a flat roof with 6 more solar panels. They took the change in stride, never missed a beat and left us with an installation that eliminates the electric bill 100% with no problems for 2 years, going on #3.

They arrived to give an estimate almost instantly and delivered a high quality project with some special adaptations such as an outdoor charging outlet for our electric car. Fabulous communication throughout the experience.

Good overall experience

Everything was perfect, from the beginning call to the final wrap up. Having gone through two installs of solar panels on different houses, I can really appreciate everything that makes Great Sky Solar stand out in the crowded field of companies. Prices were the best around, by far, and the communication, ease of install, and cleanliness of the crew was all amazing. GSS was even able to move several exhaust pipes on my roof in order to accommodate more panels to be installed.

After many local solar companies stating they couldn’t fit more than 25 panels on my roof and stating they are better than the rest - I found Great Sky Solar! The owner came out to provide me the quote. I’m in western Ma and he drove at least an hour and a half to my home. The entire team was professional and respectful. Prior to accepting the quote, the owner made it clear, going with or without Great Sky Solar, he’s available to answer any questions. This is a plus for a company that only really cares about a solar array to be installed on the roof whether it’s by them or someone else, they are willing to help. Great Sky Solar installed 30 panels covering my entire roof! It looks clean and smooth like it was my actual roof. I’ve had people driver by my home and stopping to ask who installed them, hopefully they have gone with Great Sky Solar as well. Nothing but the best from them and the are great communicators throughout the entire project!

The installation was going very well .The staffs there are all very considerated and doing work carefully. Every things were communicated in time and we are very satisfied with their services.

It went Awesome. Great Sky Solar is incredibly professional. They came and evaluated and took care of everything from there. The most stand out part is that the job dragged on for a bit and without my ever saying a word - without a single complaint, they offered up a solution where they paid for my electricity and SRECs for the lost time. Impressive.

Great Sky was wonderful. I was a little concerned when I didn't hear from them after a month or so but now I know it takes about 3 months for the permitting with Eversource. The crew that installed the system was so great! They let us know that they drive by our house everyday so if there was any problem they could get it done first thing. They shored up the roof and installed the panels. We installed twice as many as we needed in hopes of electrifying our heat and vehicles. There were a few adjustments in the first week because the system was producing so much energy so they switched out the inverter and I didn't know until I saw their truck in the drive. I love going on the web to see how much energy I have made and the SREC's are such a surprise when they come! It's all gone very smoothly.

I had solar panels installed on my roof in March of 2018 by Great Sky Solar. I can't say enough great things about my experience. They kept me up to date at all times as the project moved along and were always helpful and responsive to my questions and concerns. After having the system for about one year they have delivered everything that was promised. The quality of work was excellent and everything was clean and tidy at the end of the job. As someone who is obsessed with quality of work I was very satisfied with the job that was done and the professionalism of the staff and installation crew. Jim, the master electrician was awesome. I have already had a pay back of 30 percent in the first year of operation.

From the initial discussion to the final installation Great Sky was wonderful to work with. They were not the cheapest of everyone we got quotes from, but they gave use a good price and provided real value. I would definitely recommend them.

I had absolutely no clue when it came to solar. Initially, we received an energy audit through National Grid (which basically gave me a couple free light bulbs and a power strip). They told us that we would be a great candidate for a solar array and gave us a pamphlet for a national solar company. We called to inquire about solar and within two days they had a person at our house and hustling us on how great and how cheap an array would be and by the end of a 3 hour visit they had us sign an initial, nonbinding contract to have an array that offered no information of size, type, or brand. Perplexed that I still had no knowledge of what I just did, I started looking online and came across Mass Solar Loan website that went over some of the benefits of ownership (National Company pretty much only rents/lease out the solar panels rather than offering up front ownership). That's where I came across Great Sky Solar. My first conversation with Michael Monroe from Great Sky Solar, helped me tremendously with the decision that I made, and luckily I was able to cancel the leasing contract with the national company. I didn't want to make the same mistake again, so I had Great Sky and another local company come design arrays for our house. At no point did I feel rushed or even persuaded to sign anything from Great Sky or the other company. Where Great Sky rose above and beyond compared to the other local company was Michael and Katherine's willingness to help guide us through the Mass Solar Loan Program as well as setting up our array's solar energy renewable credit (SREC). They even told us about loan support through the state that could possibly lower the cost of the system. The other local company did not offer any information on either one of these programs nor would help us through the process when we asked. At each step of the way Katherine or Michael were there to help answer any questions we had. Now that we have had our system up and running for over 6 months we have received our first SREC payment and have not had an electricity bill since. The customer support and friendly relationship this company offers has been the best I have ever experienced, especially when making such a big investment. They made the whole process smooth and stress free. If you are thinking about solar, I would highly recommend you call Great Sky Solar. Steve

Great Sky Solar designed a bespoke ground mount array for my property, and was very flexible about positioning it so as to fit in with the esthetics of the landscape and avoid needlessly taking down trees. Once the project began, the Great Sky team showed up every day for three weeks until completion, and liaised with the local utility company to commission the array. The workmanship was and is excellent, and Great Sky has always been available to help me understand how the system works and to address any glitches. The whole company is very friendly, easy to work with and committed to my satisfaction. I recommend Great Sky wholeheartedly.

Despite these apparently discouraging factors, Great Sky happily got up on my roof to take measurements of sky/horizon exposure and roof pitch before creating some alternative proposals, worked with my muni to understand their policies and meet their particular requirements, and kept me apprised of the evolving SREC II environment. Installation was professional and sensitive to appearances (even to the point of painting outside electrical conduit to match different trim and wall colors behind it!). They spent a lot of time getting the proposal just right and answering my questions, and they willingly put me in touch with recent customers so I could ask them about their experience both with Great Sky and with their solar installations. I was very anxious to keep on top of any responsibilities I might have to make sure the project moved forward and was executed properly, but in fact, Great Sky pretty much did it all for me (except for signing my name to certain applications!): all necessary applications and building permits, a meter that reports production automatically to the MA production tracking system, and setup of an account to auction SRECs produced by the system. As anticipated, my resulting 4.56 kW system on two different roof faces generated its first MWh in the first quarter of operation, and everything is set up to auction the associated SREC and deposit proceeds automatically. Most months my electrical bill is a credit that offsets some of my gas bill (from the same municipal power company). It was a bonus to me that the company is local, small, and looking to do the right thing, and not some outfit just looking to make a quick buck in the MA market.

Very well. House roof required reinforcement and was not an additional charge as was installing and moving the breaker panel old 100 amp panel with a 200 amp panel.

July of 2016 - 33 Panel array on my roof. Great Sky did an excellent job designing and installing the system and walking me through the SREC II Market that was unknown to me at the time and had a questionable capacity issue. I am very pleased with the follow-up support for a replacement LG Panel under warranty and am very happy I went with a local provider for my design, installation and service needs.

I honestly can't say enough good things about working with Great Sky. They carefully talked us through the process, discussed the pros and cons of various options, explained the reasoning behind all their recommendations, and basically held our hands the entire time. The installation was fast and unobtrusive, the array is great, and when the bank we were working with got bogged down over the holidays, Great Sky was patient and understanding about the delay. I've privately recommended them to a number of friends, so now I'm doing it publicly. They're a great company, and they have really worthy goals for sustainability and environmental progress. I can't imagine why you'd go through anyone else.

They were terrific every step of the way. Initial consultation, preliminary design, price estimate, price modification, ordering of supplies, setting up date of install, actual installation, and finally assisting me to navigate the rather confusing permitting process. They work exceedingly hard to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. The electricians who did the installation showed up on time and finished early both days they were on site! It was such a refreshing change of pace to have contractors actually follow through with a job and get it done right the first time. The price was very competitive and their executives accessible to boot.
