First two were done then no one came until two months had gone bye and did not remember seeing the little yellow sign they put out. I called to see if they were ever coming back within a couple of days they came out and finished the season.

We have been using them for about 2 or 3 years now. I like that they let me know when it is time for the treatment to be applied to the lawn. They give you a day or two warning when they will be coming out to service the lawn. Sometimes, I feel like I am being sold services which is a little irritating.

My husband requested an estimate on-line. A few days later, an estimate was left on our door with a note saying "call me directly - i can get you started today." We never called because we chose another lawn company. Today while working from home I suddenly notice someone from Scotts putting stuff down on our lawn. I stopped him, and called the local office saying we're not paying something we never signed up for. Thankfully I caught the guy before he put down the pesticides...we're going with an organic company.

Horrible.......have had them for years, should of fired them a long time ago. Tried for years to get some results. Finally gave up! Service techs just keep applying the treatments, never really address the problems. My front lawn looks so bad, one of their door to door Scotts salespersons, rang my bell today to try and sell me their service....Ummm, no thanks! She tried to tell me, my Oak trees are acidic and killing the lawn. Nope, not buying it. They are clumped together, are bottom cut way up to let in sunshine, and we have an irrigation system too. And we have seeded these areas ourselves, over and over. Then she preceded to tell me it's due to lack of lime.....Ummm, Scotts limes my lawn regularly. In fact they were here in July doing that.Then she tells me it takes at least 6 months for the lime to work....Ummm, my lawn has been limed, many, many times by Scotts over the years. I would of thought something would of kicked in by now. Not buying that excuse either. And to top it all of, when I expressed my displeasure at their obviously bad service, she accused me of being rude. She told me she just sold a program to one of my neighbors. I told her to send them over to see the results they can expect......She walked off in a huff, being very rude to a customer and very unprofessional. Stay away from these people, they are bad news across the board.

My experience has been very good and they always come with the right product at the right time. We don't have weeds and grubs. Our lawn stays in good shape because of their work. I have used them for years and recommend them highly.

They did it well and correctly. They did a good job overall as they came out when I asked them to.

We initially hired Scott's (met them a home show) to help us rid the lawn of it's weed problem. We had recently purchased the house and had spent a large amount of time in the spring and early summer growing grass. The newly seeded portions of the lawn were progressing nicely until around July. We had just had a fertilization treatment from Scott's and I noticed that they did not spray for weeds, so I called the local branch and asked them to come back out. Within a day or so from the service call I could tell they had cooked my lawn with weed control. There were yellow lines all throughout the new grass (not sure why they sprayed there since I told them it was new grass) and shortly after all of the new grass died. Due to this incident, as well as the constant barrage of Scott's telemarketing calls, I discontinued my service for the next year. Despite the cancellation they apparently "automatically renewed" the service contract for 2013 and I had to call and cancel again. I started over this year and did everything myself. The lawn is looking very nice so far and I plan on doing all of my own fertilization, weed/grub control, etc from now on.

They do a great a job and my lawn looks great. The only issue is they came at the wrong time last year to perform a service that shouldn't had been done while I had leaves on the ground. They did credit me back for this service.

I fired them. I got billed for more things that was being done without asking me. They barely spent any time in my yard. It’s half acre and that’s lot of lawn. Five minutes really doesn’t cover it. I know I spent couple of hundreds of dollars. They were responsive when I called them back because they didn’t do a good job. They didn’t have a set of schedule, they just showed up whenever. I hired another lawn care who I am happy with.

I used them over 4 years ago and after being disappointed with their work I have been trying to cancel the service. They never would contact me before they would come, not allowing me to move my childrens toys in the lawn for them to fertilize under, they would just work around them. I have called them multiple times in the past four years to get on their Do Not Call list and to this day they call me every week. Every time I do contact them, I get a different person and they have no indication of my previous calls. When I did use them they would try to get more service out of me saying that I needed more than just fertilization and all the other services I should get done just to up the cost. I highly suggest not using this company.

I still had weeds after the applications. My lawn turned brown with dead grass in large spots. When I contacted them, they advised they would send someone out, but nobody ever came for awhile. Finally, when I got a little angry on the phone, they sent up someone, who basically told me, there was nothing they could do, as it had spread throughout the lawn. I asked the rep why wasn't this taken care of when the spots were smaller, and he stated that it was "not part of my program". In short, I threw him off my property after hearing this. I called the main office, and told them that I was going to bring suit against them for non performance of agreement, and that I depended on their "so called knowledge" to handle any problems before it got worse. They did call me back, and after "haggling" a few times, they promised to refund all the money I had spent with them for the previous 2 years. They eventually did send me a check for 2 years worth of service that I had paid for. And when they were applying the chemicals, this kid just "zoomed" around the front and back lawn, up and down, and missing quite a bit of area. (I could see the tire marks in the lawn, and it basically was "all over the place, but not in a row). I then went with a different lawn service company, and have been happy with them.

It was not all that good. It was bad, I thought. I am not going to go with them anymore. They are not reliable and they actually called and said that they had put something into grass and they were going to come back, this was all a recording, instead of a live person. The price was not good. They were professional.

I'm happy to say that giving them a full season this past summer produced better results. I saw an improvement in my lawn's color and weed control. After each application there's a note hung on your door explaining what was done, any precautions that are needed (usually none) and any tips/pointers to improve you lawn. Could you possibly find someone better? Maybe but these guys are national, they've got a good program and you know what you're getting. Everything happens automatically, you get notice before they do anything and a report after. The only annoyance I've noticed is a few up-sells every summer for additional services but they're never overly pushy about it so it's not a big deal. Overall they a solid option that works well for a reasonable price. I've been happy with them and will use them again next summer.

I found Scotts at the New England Homeshow. They offered a very competitive bid and could complete the service for close to what i could buy the chemicals. The service did a great job on dandelions. Despite assertions that i would have no crab grass, my lawn still has a good amount of it. It required a dissatisfaction call for them to address the large amount of clover, random broadleaf weeds and crab grass. Their response to this call was excellent. A tech came down within the week. Any personal interactions have been pleasant and professional. My lawn does look better, despite the weeds. It is a healthy dark green and survived the hot summer in better condition than several of my neighbors who traditionally have excellent lawns. Insect controll was great. no leaf hoppers! My yard to 'fly away' when walked on. Overall I'm happy, but I did expect a bit more weed control. I cut my grass every 1-2 weeks during peak season. Mower is set to 3.5 inches. I mulch the clippings, excpet when the grass is too long.

My grass looks better than my prior provider.

They are prompt and do a good job on the lawn. We have been using them for two years.

When we initially negotiated I told them to call me and we would go over the price and the service. They ended up coming out and doing the service without confirming with me prior. They ended up not charging for the service. I would have preferred that they did the back yard but they only did the front yard.

I think they do a very good job. They are very consistent. If we need anything extra done they will do it.

I'm finally dropping their service after years of poor results and myriad excuses. On consecutive visits and follow-up conversations, I've been told that I cut the lawn too long and too short, I water too much and too little, I water too early and too late, that I water to frequently and not frequently enough, and so on. Sometimes I think they forgot me as I'd see the truck in our neighborhood but it wouldn't be in our yard until a week or two later and only after I called them. I had better results when I did the work myself.

.We are looking for a company to fertilize the lawn, treat any problems and maintain it on an ongoing basis. We received a promotional offer from Scotts for a "free lawn analysis". After checking out the reviews on Angie's list, I called the 800 number and left my information in the afternoon of 3/29. A person called in the morning of 3/30 and asked how I rated my lawn. I said 7 to 8 out of 10. He immediately said that he had measured my lawn and offered an annual program of 6 applications for $75 each. I said that he couldn't have measured the lawn because I was at home the entire time. Also, they didn't do the free lawn analysis yet and I was more interested in the results of the analysis before working out a plan. It wasn't the price that concerned me; but I had used their service before we moved from a different town. I paid $47 per application for that lawn, which was larger. He then asked whether my property was at the bend of the road across the street from a property with an in-ground pool. I immediately knew he was measuring the lot using zillow, google map, or something similar. I told him that 2/3 of the lot was actually woods and wetland, and was put off by their creative pricing method. Right away, he said his price could come down to $55; but again I was more interested in someone actually visiting the property and having an analysis before proposing a service plan. The interaction led me to believe that they are probably not going to care too much about the lawn but just going through the motions if I actually hired them. I would have paid them a higher price if they put their hearts to what they do.

I hired TruGreen to treat my lawn in 2010. I prepaid approx $3-400 for the season. They performed the work. In 2011 they came to my house and applied chemicals to my lawn without my permission and without being asked to. They are now billing me for this unwanted service and when I disputed the bill by phone I was told that this was done acording to their routine practice and that it is written in their contract. I don't think this a reasonable business practice and they are seriously damaging trust with their customers if they slip such nonsense into their contracts without the customers' request or even knowledge.

I pay for their lawn and tree service. I don’t have a lot of weeds any more. Some other companies that came out to do the lawn earlier, I still had weeds and I pay them the same price. I don’t have that since I started using Scotts Lawn Service. They do not deal well with customers over the phone. They call us for example today, and they are supposed to give us a couple of days to let us know if they are coming, because incase we do not want them to come; we have a chance to cancel their service. They usually just land up here the next morning may be like 7.30 or 8 o’clock. So there’s no chance for us to cancel or anything. I would use their services again in the future.

They come in the spring, check and see how things are doing. They tell us what the lawn needs and how much it will cost. They check in the fall to see what they will need to do throughout the winter to get things ready for the spring. They come when you are gone. They leave flags in the yard to let you know what they have done. My husband used to do this stuff by himself and it was more expensive to do it ourself than to have them do it. They also know that we have pets so everything that they use is pet friendly
