Mike was so easy to work with, reliable, and very professional. He provided my wife and I with a detailed explanation of all the work that would be done. He worked hard in order to stay on schedule and all work was done to a very high degree of quality. Mike went out of his way to make sure that we understood every step of the project and on multiple occasions he helped us avoid unnecessary work and needless expense. When we encountered unexpected issues, Mike was very good at getting us back on track. We are new home owners and without a doubt, Mike will be our go-to plumber going forward.

First, let me just say that finding fair and honest contractors is not all that common these days. If you need plumbing and heating service, Mike is your guy. I talked to Mike about various options to replace my hot water heater and he talked me into the cheapest option. He could have easily let me pay three times the amount that I did to install a high efficiency system but convinced me that in my situation, it wasn't worth the extra cost. He had a job run over the day he was supposed to come out but called to see if the next day was okay, which it was. He came the next day, exactly when he said and in addition to replacing the water heater, he reworked the gas line to simplify the connection, installed a new gas shutoff, put in a water shutoff for just the heater and replace the water heater flue pipe. And with all the extra stuff he did he still charged me less than what was quoted. Thanks again Mike!!

Honest Plumbers do exist :) We've found a good one in Mike Rivers from Rivers Plumbing and Heating in Andover. When he came to the house for a free estimate (another provider on Angie's list wanted to charge $39 just to give me a quote), he was detailed and thorough. He took the time to explain the issues that he had found and provided options for us to consider for the repair. Rather than trying to sell us a new system, he was forthright and stated that he did not believe a system replacement was required. No high pressure sales or scare tactics -- just straightforward, honesty. Nice! His estimate was detailed and thorough. For scheduling, we traded suggested dates and Mike was able to promptly perform the repairs on our agreed upon date. He takes pride in his work and it shows. Mike is a former military serviceman so when given a chance, we always try to support a veteran owned small business over a large corporation. We certainly will be using Rivers again and would recommend him to friends and family.

Mike and I had an appointment scheduled for Thursday 7/17/14. He emailed me that day and said he couldn't come as he had an emergency appointment. No problem. He rescheduled for Saturday 7/19/14. He didn't show and he didn't call. Very disappointing.

|Michael did an excellent job; he explained everything that needed to be done in simple terms. He was remarkably neat, even returning closet shelves (they needed to be removed to access the pipes). I plan to use him again for other updates.

Mike said that he would arrive at 9AM and that the water would be shut off for several hours. He arrived exactly on time and began the work. He cleans up as he goes and is unfailingly polite and pleasant. Work was completed quickly and with no problems. He came in under his quote, as well. I am SO glad to have found Rivers Plumbing. I now have peace of mind about any plumbing needs and know that I have found someone I can trust and someone I am comfortable with having in my home.

My experience with them has been excellent. I've used them several times and they are very easy to deal with. They are very responsive and they do good work. Their prices are reasonable and they are very good. They're easy to reach and they call you back. They come out very quickly.
