Description of Work: Although I didn't use this company for moving services I was thoroughly impressed by their professional services during their on site visit for the estimate. My move was different as there is a 2-week gap between homes but they made every effort to get the price down. In the end I had to move into storage but I would not hesitate to consider working with them for my next move.

Description of Work: Was fine. Not great, not bad. Would have got a similar experience for cheaper if i got a truck and people from uhaul.

Description of Work: We called them to get a quote to move us from our town house to a new house we had just purchased. A representative was sent to the town house and took meticulous notes on all of our furniture, etc to enable him to give us a quote for the move. The quote that he gave us was for $2,100. We got quotes from three other companies and selected Palmer based on the number they gave us. | |The move took much longer than anticipated. The three "workers" who were moving our things out of the house complained incessantly about the foreman in the truck, saying he was lazy, not much help and he slowed the whole process down. Throughout a good portion of the day our front lawn looked like we were having a garage sale, there were so many pieces of furniture waiting to be loaded onto the truck. |At the conclusion of the move, the foreman came in off the truck and presented me with a bill for $3,300, more than 60% over the quote we were given. I refused to pay the bill and told him to get whoever he needs to on the phone to discuss this. After calling a few people, he told me I would get a call the next day. |The person who gave us the quote in the first place gave me a call the next day and defended the bill by telling me that moving some of the furniture pieces was harder than they thought it would be. I reminded him that this was all the same furniture that he had seen on his walk through so there should not have been any surprises. I still refused to pay the bill. |After a few more phone calls and the rep speaking with his "boss" they offered to take $600 off the bill. I was tired of their irrational arguments about why the bill was so high so I accepted the offer to make the whole thing go away. |If their quote had been in the range of what they charged me, they would not have gotten the job, I had other offers that were better. This is what I would call a bait and switch - get the job with a low ball offer and then make up a bunch of reasons as to why it came in 60% higher. |I will never use this company again. |

Description of Work: They moved a large desk and filing cabinets from an upstairs room to the ground floor and moved some other furniture upstairs. They were accommodating and professional in their work.

Description of Work: Excellent move no problems. I had problems with other movers but this was by far the best.

Description of Work: John Palmer did an estimate on two moves and long-term storage. They were highly professional and, because of their attention to quality and competitive bid, got our business for one of the moves ($3k) plus long-term storage ($175/month). They will also be moving our things out of storage this spring. They provided detailed information that was useful to us in the move (ie, what to pack in what kind of boxes, checklists for a move, etc and were very detailed in their inventory and careful in their loading. Excellent job. We are using them again.

Description of Work: I orchestrated a move for an elderly friend. She moved from a two bedroom house to a one bedroom condo. John Palmer gave the most reasonable quote and were very helpful on the phone. I packed for her and moved delicate things myself. The movers took all the furniture and boxes. They set evrything up at the new house and were very friendly and respectful.
