Jake & Son Plaster & Drywall

They arrived on time. They do like to start early. Everything went well. My ceiling looks perfect.

Jake was very pleasant, easy to deal with and a genuine nice guy. For the work that was contracted, I believed the price was more than fair and reasonable for the 3 areas that needed work. I've attempted DIY in this area before and I am familiar with the cost of materials. However, what you pay for is your time and a professional finish that Jake and Sons delivered. Jake and his son Rocky arrived right on time, moving quickly and efficiently while protecting the home as best they could from the debris created. They even marked my ceiling joists for another project I'll be doing myself as a favor. There were no added charges after their initial walk through and quote. Absolutely would deal with them again. Great job!

Jake and his son Rocky were very friendly and informative. They showed up precisely on time and covered the areas they were working on so the work wouldn't make a mess. I was comfortable enough with them to leave them with a key, and they knocked out the work over 3 days while I was working. I had lots of questions, like I always do when doing a project, and Jake was very nice about answering and you could just tell he knew exactly what he was talking about. The walls came out great, and in a few days time I will need to prime and paint. I would highly recommend these guys!

JAKE AND ROCKY ARRIVED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD AND DID ALL THAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO AND MORE. BOTH WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING AND PROFICIENT. THE WORK WAS DONE WITH MINIMAL DISRUPTION AND MESS. THE END RESULTS TURNED OUT GREAT. THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF WORKING UP A PROPOSAL TO DO ANOTHER JOB FOR ME. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANY ONE.

Did such a great job, wanted to let members know, i will definitely use him again and refer to family and friends. Showed up early, he did what he said he would do, and did an excellent job! For making me look like a superstar, I even paid extra.

They did a pretty nice job. I would say excellent except that after they left, while I was admiring their work, I realized the left side was 1/4 " shorter than the right side (they should have been symmetrical) and the right side was a little rough along the front edge. To be fair, I am a graphic designer, so proportions are maybe a little more important to me than someone else. I am withholding judgement until my vent goes in to see how obvious it appears, and I can patch the rough front edge, it is fairly small. But I had a brand new granite countertop, newly refaced cabinets and a new wood floor and Jake promised me they would cover everything. He was true to his word and things came through without a mark. Jake and his son were right on time, quick at their work and easy to talk to about everything. He even patched a hole in the living room wall for no charge. Like I said, I wish I could say excellent work, but have to knock a few points off. I know he would have fixed things if I had noticed them before they left. So I would use them again and just stress how important getting things straight and square are to me. I'm sure they would focus a little more on that. Good work.

Can't enough good things about Jake & sons. They are the clear choice for anything involving plaster. They are awesome to deal with and their workmanship is second to none. It was a big investment for me, but I'll be having him back for future renovations. Thanks, guys.

A ceiling in my den had a crack extending about 3 feet long. Jake & Son nailed the ceiling to the floor joice, patch the crack, and blew popcorn onto the ceiling. Did the same in my bedroom due to a foot coming through my ceiling. Everything was done to my satisfaction - quality work

They were very good at providing the quote. They quoted $3000 for the job. I would recommend them.

I couldnt be happier with the work they did. They even removed ceiling fan & reinstalled it. They did the work in 2 days & were so nice. I would highly recommend them to everyone who needs plaster work of any kind.

They did a good job and I had no problems with them. They did what they said that they would do and they were on time. I spent about $450 to $500 for the work that they did. Their company is a small family owned company. They did the work and they were punctual. If needed, I would use them again in the future if the price is right.

These guys are very good at their trade. If you want quality you need Jake & Rocky to finish your sheetrock. Zero dust since they don't need to sand their work. Perfection!

The ceiling plaster was badly cracked in my kitchen. Jake and his son came in and totally replaced the ceiling in an amazingly short amount of time. It looked wonderful when they were done and they cleaned up everything beautifully. I would definitely recommend their services.

Jake & Sons are very professional. They did a fantastic job and threw in a little extra work, fixing the area underneath my window that had gotten moisture damage.

Thanksgiving. Jake and his son adjusted their work schedule to ensure the work was completed to my schedule despite my last minute request. Additionally, they did a very professional and complete job with a very positive and polite attitude. I will be using them in the future for other small and large projects as I continue to remodel my 1970's house.

Went very well. Jake was able to give me an estimate over the phone. He & his son arrived on time, protected the area in which they were working, and worked quickly and professionally. They did a good job matching the texture of the ceiling, which apparently is not a common texture. Jake even took the time (after being paid) to give us advice on painting a small spot elsewhere where the roof had leaked, and dabbed it with Kilz for us. He was a little more expensive than others we had consulted but I feel I was paying for his expertise. (We had another company come out, they gave us an estimate but when they arrived to do the work, the workman did not feel he could match the existing texture. I haven't reviewed them because I appreciate the workman's honesty in declining to do something he could not handle even though the company would have liked him to try)

Went great! Jake and I go back to post Katrina 2005 when I used him to install 2 new ceilings after I lost a partial roof in the storm. I was extremely happy with his work back then and the ease of dealing with him. No mail or telephone service after the storm, we did the whole job via email and credit cards because I live out of state. I was happy to see Jake was still in business this year when I needed him again. Same old Jake, always answers the phone, gave me an estimate within one week, even found additional work that needed done (the walls) making it easier to all do it all at the same time. I always appreciate his thoroughness. Was easy to communicate with via email, always responds to communications. Was willing to work within a 3 week time-frame of when the tenant would be out of town and before I would arrive in town, exceptional customer service! Callled me when he had any questions about the job ie paint colors. Was very accommodating about payment. He even re-plastered a small landing area that needed it but was outside of our contract. Oh did I mention that all of the tenants furniture and belongs were still in the apartment when the work was performed? I love working with people like Jake and would highly recommend him to anybody.

Jake was very easy to work with. He responded quickly to requests for an estimate. As the work became more extensive (!) he decided to review the job in person, rather than giving me a telephone estimate. He was very flexible about when he could attend - there were some scheduling issues with the other trades working on the job and my own travel plans. He was on time for every appointment. They worked efficiently and did provide drop cloths to protect the wood floors and furniture. I shall certainly use them again.

Jake and his son were very knowledgeble and eager to share ideas. I originally toought that I would have to tear out a large portion of plaster and redo. This would have been a large expensive and messy proposition. He came up with the alternative explained in this review.

Very good experience. Jake and Sons returned my calls promptly, explained what needed to be done, and completed the jobs quickly and expertly. All work was completed within the time frame specified. Good clean up after. I highly recommend and will use them again in the future.

Called Jake and Son for estimate. Was very pleased with his response and assured me that there would be a limited amount of mess. He completed the job in 3 days and kept his work. There was very little mess and he cleaned up after he was finished. Was very respectful of my belongings and removed all items that were adjacent to the room where the repairs were needed. He offered to put everything back for me but I felt that he had done enough and I could easily put everything back. I would highly recommend him for all sheetrock and plaster work. Nice man...family owned, he and his son do all of the work. I would not hesitate to use him again.

Overall a great experience. Explained in detail what would be done and how long it would take. The paint is mixed with the plaster so once it is done, you won't have to paint it. Even left me a little of the plaster to wipe on in case I get handprints on the ceiling changing lightbulbs, etc. Took about a week.
