If I could give Relief Windows and A+ rating I would. I called Brandon between Thanksgiving and Christmas to ask some basic questions about windows. He was very helpful and gave me a rough estimate over the phone but wanted to come out and meet with me and see everything for himself. The holiday season became very busy for me and I never go back with him. He called me in early January just to touch base with me. I was glad he did because I was going to be calling him soon anyway. He came by on a Monday and measured my home for replacing the windows. He and his colleague Thomas were very friendly and very professional. He demonstrated the new windows and had a sample piece of the new door. While talking to him I mentioned we were thinking of getting gutters to help with the rainfall near my windows that had caused the old ones to mildew. That is when he informed me he did gutters and vinyl siding also. So while he was there he measured and gave me a quote for gutters and siding along with my windows and door quote. Because we were doing everything with him he was able to make a deal?and what a deal it was. He was extremely fair in his pricing. I told him I would talk to my husband and get back to him later. We decided to go with Relief Windows and in just three days they had started the siding! By Saturday, less than a week since my estimate, I have vinyl siding covering my entire home. Brandon helped me think outside the box on my colors and boy and I glad he did! The following week the gutters were up and a few days after that the window and doors were installed. I had many, many questions through the process and each time I called Brandon he was always patient and professional. It is very obvious that the customer is his most important priority. Brandon?s ?made in the USA? work crew could not have been any more polite and hardworking! Even my 13 yr old son said they were nice b/c the few times they were working on the house and he got off the bus they always made a point to tell him hello. They were EXTREMELY clean?EXTREMELY!! At one point a worker had the shop vac in one hand as he is pulling out the frame with the other. It even started to rain not long before they finished and the men took off their shoes so they wouldn't track in any water. They also replaced all my light fixtures and doorbell buttons after the siding was put up. They even suggested that if I wanted to buy new fixtures just to leave them and they would put them up for us! We are extremely pleased with the outcome and can?t say thanks enough to Brandon and his crew. There were many little extras that Brandon and his crew did that make this experience so wonderful. If you are looking for a honest, hardworking and fair company for windows, gutters and vinyl siding you need to call Relief Windows.

The crew showed up a little early and worked for about 7 hours replacing 12 windows. I was so impressed with the kindness of the workers and how they were so careful not to make a mess inside the house. It was very wet outside and the crew always took their shoes off to come into the house. After replacement of the windows the crew did a fabulous job cleaning up after themselves and even cleaned the new windows a couple of times to make sure their product and installation was professional. I would recommend this company and his crew any time. Our 15 year old house had cheap windows and there was a constant draft when it got cold. After replacement of the windows the temperature dropped to 32 degrees and the house had no draft in it. This is the first time my wife and I actually enjoyed the inside of our house once winter came upon us.

Workers showed up on time, introduced themselves and addressed any question or concerns I might have had prior to installation. Work then began promptly. Work crew kept areas clean as they went. Replacement of windows and doors went great. In kitchen area workers removed three small windows and framed up and installed large picture window. After picture window was installed new siding around the window went up smoothly and looks great. Overall I would highly recommend Relief Windows for anyone needing replacement windows, doors, or siding. Brandon and his team are very professional from the initial estimate to the final install of the products. In the future I will use Relief windows for any window, door, or siding replacement I need.

Excellent work. My story is above.
Description of Work: Let me tell you all about Relief Windows. If you want really good windows (not the cheap ones), and if you really want the work done right from start to finish by local professionals, and if you don't want to have to replace your siding after another CAT 1 hurricane, then you need to call Brandon at Relief Windows. I live in Metairie, and my best friend and a couple of my neighbors had the company with the CHEAP windows put in ($149 per window), and they complained about the workers (not from the U.S.) and that they made a mess and did not clean up afterwards. Also the windows look cheap, and are really ugly and made cheap. I called Brandon at Relief Windows in Baton Rouge and within 2 days he was at my house, gave me a free written estimate, and on the spot I hired him. I had never met Brandon before that day, but he was sincere and honest (and very cute), and that impressed me. Since Hurricane Katrina I have been burned by contractors who took my money, and did sub-standard work. So I was a little skeptical when I called Brandon. But he came from Baton Rouge without batting an eye, measured, gave me an estimate, ordered my windows and within 2 weeks had my windows in place (done correctly), and also replaced my upstairs siding perfectly! I have had that siding replaced after Katrina, and now after Isaac. Well the contractor after Katrina did not even place the insulation under the siding, and he used big nails and hammered the vinyl siding in place. He did a horrible job, and he is a well know building contractor in Metairie, still building big beautiful houses, and ripping people off. Relief Windows did a beautiful job! You won't have these problems with Relief Windows and the Professional Installers. Brandon has a great team, and really knows how to run a business that keeps the customer not just satisfied.....but truly delighted. They're the best! SJ in Metairie

Brandon arrived on time for the estimate and was very professional. It was obvious he believed in his product. He went out of his way to accommodate my schedule when the windows were installed. His crew was friendly and polite. They took time to demonstrate the working of the window before they left and gave me time to inspect the job. Brandon followed up with a phone call to be sure there were no problems. Great customer service!

The quote was not the lowest but definitely not the highest and they included replacing the aluminum flashings which I had not planned to do but I am glad that I did! The windows look really great from the outside. I am not sure on quality just yet because I have only had them installed a month. So far, no leaks! Of course vinyl windows not same quality as wood but much more affordable and I really like being able to open them from the top and definitely an improvement on previous 30 year old thin aluminum windows. Brandon is obviously an involved and concerned small business owner. His crew is small and local. They were efficient and professional. I was unhappy with the look of the half screens on my downstairs windows (because they didn't line up with center of those larger windows) so they replaced them with full-screens at no additional charge. I was very pleased with the service and would be happy to recommend Relief Windows or to work with them again. They are also registered with the Better Business Bureau with no active complaints.

Pros: The Wincore windows seem to be very good quality. All sashes move smoothly and fit snugly within the frames. Time will tell if the installation process was adequate to prevent any leaks. I don't expect any problems based on what I observed. The windows enhance the appearance of the house. We have already received compliments from many neighbors. Brandon Hollie was enjoyable to work with. I liked his enthusiasm and his interest in making sure that I was pleased with the finished product. I questioned Brandon exhaustively regarding the removal and installation of windows that were surrounded by brick, stucco, and vinyl siding (I have all three). He convinced me that he was prepared for the challenges that each presented and in retrospect he was. The old windows and other construction debris was cleaned up adequately with exception of excess caulk which I later found in my front yard near the street and in my neighbor's front yard. Brandon's crew worked efficiently and steadily thoughout the day. They showed up at 7 am as agreed and they wasted no time as they were being paid by the job. The downside is that by 4pm they were ready to leave and I was ready for them to leave but it would have been nice if one person returned the next day to finish cleaning excess caulk and fingerprints from windows. That took quite a lot of my time. Cons: The work crew helped themselves to multiple bathrooms throughout the house during the day while I thought I had made it clear that they all use the same one. That was disappointing and it extended the cleanup effort for us. I would have appreciated a bit more attention to protecting the wood flooring with drop cloths. While drop cloths were used, there was not a concerted effort to keep them spread out while working. Hence, I now have a few more nicks in my wood floors. Had we known how much sheetrock dust was going to be generated we would have been better prepared with furniture coverings. Every square inch of surface area was coverd with dust. Cleanup took several days. Warning: Brandon will put a sign in your front yard and he's such a nice guy you won't be able to refuse, so make sure that you negotiate something in return. I got 2 free pieces of pizza at lunch time but you should be able to do better with some forethought. Summary: Replacing all windows in an entire house is a major project and all things considered, I think Brandon and his crew did a fine job....but they have opportunities for improvement. I would use them again and I hope that this review helps Relief Windows to improve their service while also attracting new business because they are very good.
Description of Work: I contracted with Relief Windows to replace approximately 30 windows in my 2-story 3300 sq. ft. home located in Mandeville, LA. The 19 year old builder's grade aluminum windows were replaced with Wincore 5400 series vinyl windows. The entire job was completed in 1 day. NOTE: When replacing aluminum frame windows with vinyl, you should consider the fact that vinyl frames are thicker and wider. This is required to provide the needed strenghth. This means that you will be sacrificing some glass for vinyl but the reduction in glass surface area will be hardly noticeable in average to large size windows. It will be more significant in the smaller windows. I recommend that anyone who is making a similar change (alumium frames to vinyl) should consider this factor, especially with respect to any small windows. While the Wincore 7700 series is a more attractive window, the 5400 series has smaller frames (more glass).

Please see the comments above. I REALLY APPRECIATE Brandon's HONESTY! As soon as he knew what our goal was - he told me that it would be more expensive to replace the entire window than to just fix the broken seals. Brandon told me to contact a glass company. I RECOMMEND Relief Windows to anyone who wants an honest window replacement company!
Description of Work: I called Relief Windows to fix the broken seals in eight windows. Brandon Hollie was VERY HONEST with me. I explained that we are trying to sell the house and we just wanted the broken seals fixed. He told me that he replaces the entire window, he does not fix broken seals, and that we should call a glass company to only replace the broken seals. Brandon said that a glass company would be less expensive.

If there was a higher rating than A, we would give it! First off, Brandon rearranged his schedule so both my husband and I could be there for the appointment even though I told him it wasn't necessary. He was more than prompt for the appointment, friendly and outgoing and very knowledgeable. He went over everything we were interested in and gave us pricing right then after taking measurements (btw, we had previously checked out his products and already knew they were quality and what warranties were). There was no hype or pressure; pricing was fair so we decided to trust Angie's List reviews and our instincts and go with Brandon's company. They started the job less than 2 wks after we first met with him and were finished within, I think, 4 days total. Brandon kept us informed every step of the way. He has a great work crew and were very impressed that they TOTALLY cleaned up. With the work schedules that we have and other things going on, having Brandon and his crew come in to do these renovations was a God-send! They do excellent work, pricing was excellent and most of all, they were trustworthy. Need we say more.

Overall, my experience with Relief Windows was great.
Description of Work: My recent experience with Relief Windows proved to be beyond my expectation. First, the enhanced look of our house was more than I expected. Next, the efficiency and thoroughness of the crew was excellent. Many people complemented us on the new windows, which I have to say was well worth it. I had a question about the operation of the windows after installation and Brandon was quick to respond. Replacement windows had been lingering on our list of home improvements for a while and proved to be well worth it.

The salesman took his time with me and gave me great recommendations as to which type of products to go with. He was very professional and they did exactly what he said they would do. When he told me they would be there at 7:30am, they were driving in at 7:30 on the dot. They put in long days and were always active and working hard. They were very professional and accomodating. Any question I had, they answered very well and did not look down their noses at me. I cannot say enough good things about them. I am extremely pleased with the outcome. Everything is spot on. The doors and windows hang, close and seal properly. They went above and beyond in anything they did. If there was a soft spot in the wood, they didn't just patch over, they fixed and re-inforced before finalizing the work.

They even located the peep hole so it was at my height. Brandon, the supervisor, even came out three times that day to see where they were at on the project and to make sure everything was okay. All the workers were respectful. Brandon was very friendly. He made the whole experience just right. I've recommended them to everyone I know.
Description of Work: I called them for an estimate in April. I met with them and they explained to me everything in detail and once we had our finances together we contacted them again and their estimate was the exact same. We had them replace 15 windows and remove 12 window panes. They removed them without making a mess and without breaking any glass in our yard. They also had a special where you could get a door for half off so we also had them replace our door.

I called Brandon, the owner of Relief Windows in late August to bid on replacing 30 windows for me. Initially, I was only going to replace about 5 windows and he was not competitive with the other bids. When I increased the job to 30 windows he came out to bid it. When he came out, I l found him friendly and he appeared competent. I hired him to do the job. On September 4th, he began the work. The job was difficult. I was not prepared for all the mess that comes with removing and replacing 30 windows and that caused problems. I felt I should have been better informed and he claimed he did inform me. While it's true his paperwork recommends moving furniture and blinds, his men splattered glass shards onto my tenants bed while removing the windows and neither Brandon nor his paperwork prepared me for that situation. The next day after they finished one of my windows leaked. It was apparent because I was renovating this apartment and the window sills were out. If the sills had been in, I would not have known that I had a leak. It makes me wonder about all the other windows with the sills in. I called Brandon and he was indignant claiming his windows did not leak. They do. As a result, Brandon had Jimmie Daniels, a Senior Design Engineer with Wincore Windows contact me. I explained that I believed the window was fine, but it was Brandon's installation that caused the leaking window. Brandon installed my windows by screwing through the bottom corners rather than preexisting side screwholes. Jimmie Daniels requested that I send him pictures of the installation. I did and when he returned my call he said that the installation method concerned him too. Brandon came out the next day and saw the leaking window. He claimed the onlty problem was that he punctured the corner joint, but I believe that any screw through the bottom portion of the window compromises the weeping system, in effect creating a new weephole to the system. It's like I had new gutters installed and they screwed through the bottom of the gutter and then plugged the hole with caulk. Brandon's solution was to caulk at the corners, which he did. I suggested removing the screw and caulking under it, because the screw is at an angle, but he did not do this. I have concerns about the stability of the windows too. He installed large windows into brick walls with 3 screws on top and 2 at the bottom corners. The bottom screws were visible with the sills out and are not shimmed ( Wincore's window installation instructions recommend shimming) and don't go into wood, or eventually into rotten wood. Brandon claims that caulk secures the window. Branbon says his screws are galvanized, but they look like regular screws to my carpenter. I have concerns about eventual rust, especially at the bottom corners in the track that holds water. Brandon claimed that the prefabricated screwholes could not be used, but in the Wincore installation instructions it recommends using them and provides the srews to use with them. The installation was very sloppy in many areas and as many as 6-8 weepholes were caulked shut, including one entire double window. One window was 1 1/8' short and he simply trimmed out the top to fill the bad fit. There was no foam, used anywhere, no insulation, no waterproofing which Brandon claimed was the correct fix. However, according to Wincore's installation instructions, if there is a gap greater than an 1/8 of an inch the installer should place insulation around the perimeter of the window. One of the most worrisome aspects of this entire experience was Brandon's attitude. Brandon was very angry about the windows complaint, he insisted they do not leak and he could prove this. (It only took a few ounces of water poured in the corner of the window to make it leak). Then when he saw they leaked, he insisted they only leaked because he split the corner weld, not because he screwed into the weeping system. He threatened to leave because we didn't believe him, yet repeatedly told us things that were not true, such as that the windows did not leak, the screws were gavanized and the 11/8' gap didn't need to be insulated. He did not bring basic tools and borrowed a knife, caulking gun and extension cord which did not seem very professional. The only reason I purchased new windows was that my old windows leaked causing water and termite damage which required expensive repairs. It seems my new windows are compromised due to their installation and I am not confident that they don't leak.
Description of Work: I hired Brandon with Relief Windows to remove and replace 30 single hung Wincore Series 5400 windows which he did on September 4, 2012.

After Hurricane Isaac, I needed 7 windows replaced on the side of a building that received the brunt of the storm. Although they were very busy in the aftermath of the storm, Brandon scheduled me for an estimate promptly and he and his team completed the installation ahead of schedule (thanks to an early delivery of the windows). Brandon and Relief were on time, no nonsense, performed the switchout of all of the windows in the course of a morning. They were friendly and professional in all aspects of the job, and I will definitely use them again if the need arises

Darryl was great to work with during the consultation phase. Likewise, Brandon and his team were great to work with during the actual installation. The house had been staying very HOT following the removal of a tree from our front yard, and we needed to get the windows installed quick. Relief got us worked into their schedule without delay ... which was greatly appreciated. One might say that they lived up to their namesake. Brandon even took time out to explain what he was doing to our 7 year old son ... who can be very inquisitive/talkative. That was going beyond the call of duty, and speaks highly of their bed side manner ... in addition to their technical ability. The work was completed quickly, done well, and they even took the time to clean up the window we had re-used from the back of the house. Good attention to detail. Since they closed up the old opening for me, and picked up my new window from the distributor (so that I didn't have to worry about it getting damaged) ... I felt the price was very reasonable. Will use Relief again for other window projects I have coming up in the future. The other thing that impressed me about Relief was that they sell and install Wincore windows. That's a manufacturer that was started by the former owners of Simonton ... which itself is ranked tops by JD Power. I stayed with Simonton because that's what I already have ... and I didn't want to mix and match ... but both brands are very similar and you can't go wrong with either. The fact that Relief sells Wincore, as opposed to something like Anderson or Pella (heavy marketing, but poor quality/warranty) clued me in early on that the guys knew what they were doing. The install confirmed this, and I was not disappointed.
Description of Work: Installed two Simonton Prism Platinum 3-lite sliders on the front of our home. One was a removal and reinstall, from a soon to be demo'ed wall on the back of our house, and Relief was nice enough to close in and caulk the space that the window was removed from. I was planning to utilize common plywood for this, but Brandon suggested and installed an insulative panel instead ... which turned out to be a much better solution. Good call.

Relief Windows delivers what they promise, they are efficient, professional and courteous from the beginning estimate until the end of the job. Truly a company that cares about your satisfaction.
Description of Work: I called Relief Windows and spoke to Darryl about getting an estimate. He was at my house within 2 days with a reasonable price for windows that are insulated. Our house is very hot in the evenings and we had single pane windows. Darryl was very professional, he did not pressure me like other window sales staff have done. He went over the types of windows that are available and then I chose a window that is insulated to keep the evening sun and heat out. Within 2 weeks our window order came in. The following day a crew of 3 arrived in the morning. They were professional and courteous, they installed 11 windows in about 4 hours. They cleaned up all of the old windows. I will use this company and recommend Relief Windows for anyone that wants a reasonable price, a no-pressure estimate, professional service and a cooler house. This company is A++ in my book. Choosing anyone else will only mean higher prices and cheaper windows...

Overall went well. Windows took a little longer then estimated to manufacture. Job was more messy then client had understood. Client had to ask contractor to clean the new windows.

Let me put it this way, when they came back to remove all the trash after they installed my door I noticed a big gap in me screen door and I didn't think anything about it because they were coming back in a couple weeks to fix the windows. So what they did was that they hurried out and said they could not fix my door. They came back later and told me it was my problem and that they couldn't fix it. They could have fixed it and if they had told me in the beginning that it wouldn't fit I would have just had it taken off. I bought the doors and for installation alone was $600. They should not do doors or tell people they can do doors. They also broke a screw on the lock on my front door. They cut off a screw that they couldn't get to screw in rite. My back door got replaced and they had to make three trips to Home Depot and every time they brought a door in it was broken. I finally called Home Depot and they said to go ahead and have them install the door and they would send someone from the factory to replace the window in the door. It's one with the blinds in it that opens and closes. The service was not good on the doors. The windows were fine though. I only want this report to be about the doors adn not the windows.

Response from Relief Windows LLC
I am a little confused about this report, previously Member gave a great review on 09/13/2010 and now a year later this negative review is posted. The doors that she purchased were from a home improvement store, and not from us. We picked the doors up for her and attempted to install them, however, we had to return to the home improvement store on at least three separate occasions that day because of manufacturing issues w/ the doors. The issues never related to the quality of our installation, but the quality of the doors that the owner picked out and purchased herself. It boils down to you get what you pay for and the customer bought lower quality doors from a home improvement store and as installers (not associated with that store) only so much can be done. In this instance we went out off our way several times and we were able to achieve a successful installation. Our company does offer a High Quality Fiberglass Series Entry Door manufactured by Wincore Windows & Doors, unfortunately that is not the series that Member chose to purchase.
