"Today I decided that there are a ton of professional AND respectful a/c guys out there and that I just hadn’t found him yet. I’ve used Albee’s services for some years at several of my properties. I’ve not had an issue with the work after it’s completed, but interacting with Albee to setup the work has been a totally different experience. He has THE WORST customer service. Very arrogant and passive aggressive every single time I’ve called. I’ve even addressed it with him and he just framed it as a misunderstanding. One time I greeted him and asked him how he was doing that day ahead of just dumping my issue on him as soon as he answered the phone, and he just ignored me and was like what can I help you with. When I brought it up he just masked it as just trying to get to the job, but he’s really just unnecessarily rude. Every time I extend the grace of saying he must be busy or having a rough day or maybe he’s just hot, but overtime I’ve realized it’s just who he is and how he conducts business. I’ve only used his services when I’ve had issues come up and honestly out of laziness, I just haven’t searched for anyone else. Today I called for an issue and was met with the same gross energy. I felt like I wish I wouldn’t have after the fact. I greeted him and went straight into my issue and he abruptly said, “Let’s try this again. Who am I speaking to? And what’s the property address so I can see if we can come cause we get a lot of calls?” Then he proceeded to ask me to text him everything cause he wasn’t in a position to write anything down. What was the point of the hazing?? So unnecessary! It was as though I wasn’t following some protocol to request his services. I truly wonder if he speaks to all women this way. I think he could benefit from someone else, ANYONE else, answering the phone to schedule appointments other than him. I decided I had a little more time today to search for someone new and found a repair guy that engaged with me as though he was glad I picked him out of all the many options out there. Getting the job done is great, but customer service is also of great value to me. Albee definitely does not have it. My money spends anywhere, but I definitely won’t be spending it with him anymore."

Heating oil services FAQs

To buy heating oil for your house, contact local heating oil companies to compare prices and place an order once you decide on a supplier. The company will have to deliver your heating oil in a truck designed to carry and dispense heating oil safely. Call and order your heating oil early enough to have your oil delivered before you need to start using it for home heating.

On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.

You save money on heating oil in a few ways:

  • Make sure your home is well insulated and sealed against drafts and heat leakage.

  • Use a thermostat that’s working properly and calibrated accurately.

  • Increase energy efficiency by insulating your basement and attic.

  • Turn down your thermostat a few degrees.

  • Program your thermostat to lower the heat when you’re not home.

  • Order heating oil during the off-season when prices are likely to be lower.

Summer months tend to be when heating oil prices are lowest because of decreased demand. Buying heating oil during the off-season also prepares you for when the weather gets cold, and you need to start using the oil to heat your home. Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.

Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
