Description of Work: They performed the original inspection as outlined in the deal purchased. Because I had an are of concern outside the original purchase I had them come back and run a video camera on the outgoing sewage line to ensure tree roots were not encroaching. All work was performed as requested and either on or ahead of schedule. I will defientely being using them the next time I have a plumbing issue. They were professional, polite, engaging, and informative. I could not have asked for their 2 visits to go any smoother than they did. A+++++++++++

This is the last day of my service window--don't they realize that some people work and have to plan to take time off? Not worth my time to be a member of Angies List if people they recommend never show.

Description of Work: The problem was that the deal that I got for Pete's Plumbing & Heating wasn't explained on the coupon. It was a coupon for a whole home inspection and a water heater flush and they couldn't flush my water heater because it was tankless, so I paid for the flush but didn't get it because I had a tankless water heater. They gave me a quote for setting up a flush system to put on there and then to do a chemical flush of the tankless water heater.

My dishwasher door screws that held the door was replaced with new screws and was ready to clean dishes that afternoon,

Description of Work: My 50 gallon water heater failed, flooding the house. Having been in the house for 40 years I knew that the height of the water heater would be a problem so I shopped on line to find a 50 gallon heater with a 12 year warranty that was the shortest available (tight fit but would work OK). I bought the heater from Sears and they wanted to sell me the installation by Pete's Plumbing. However, I declined to let Sears charge me anything for the installion which would have locked me in with Pete's and called Pete's myself to handle the communication and pricing directly. They came out promptly and got all of the information needed, including that I already had the hot water heater, the required pan to go under it, etc. However, they person (would rather not mention names) that came to provide the estimate (and was supposed to be able to do the job at that time if I accepted the price) said that he could not give me the price but would have to meet at 2:15 that afternoon to come up with the price and I could call him after that. When I called I was told that the total cost to install the water heater that I provided, change the gas valves (including the gas valve on the on the clothes dryer) was $1,145. This price included $35 if I wanted them to pull a permit for the work as a plus for documentation for the future. I was shocked by the price and got another price and had the work done by another Master Plumber for a little over $600 and the work was started immediately after he gave me the price and I accepted it. It appears to me that the meeting was simply so judge how big a bind did I appear to be in and how much money they could get out of me. If you are considering Pete's Plumbing you owe it to yourself to get at least another price.

Description of Work: The company grossly overcharges for its services. I had to replace a hot water heater in a rental property and purchased the heater and the installation services through Home Depot. Pete's Plumbing contracts with Home Depot for the installation. The estimated amount for the water heater installation and necessary permits from the City of New Orleans was about $300. This is a little higher than the going rate but was close enough to warrant using Home Depot (and Pete's) for the entire purchase and installation since I live out of town. The office at Pete's contacted me to schedule a time on the day of installation. The technician contacted me later that day and wanted to go to the job site to inspect the arrangement before the installation was to begin. When he arrived at the job site, the tech told me he would have to replace the roof vent and re-route the emergency relief line in order to bring the installation to within the appropriate building code. Otherwise he would not be able to install the water heater. The cost to do this would be an additional $450. This would have been over the estimated $300 I already paid for the water heater installation. This is extremely overpriced for the work involved not to mention I am skeptical that it was actually necessary. The heater installation was in an outdoor shed at the rear of the property. The roof jack was replaced only a few years ago and it was done according to building code. Re-routing the relief line involved drilling a hole in an exterior wall and putting an elbow connection on the existing line to route it to the exterior wall. When the tech told me the additional cost, I told him I would not proceed and asked him to leave the job site. The owner of the company contacted me later. He told me that he supported his tech's estimate and that the work was necessary and the price was fair in his opinion. I disagreed and told the owner that I was cancelling the order. The additional fees amounted to gouging. I do not trust Pete's and will never use them again. I would NOT recommend this provider and would strongly urge others to seek services elsewhere.

Description of Work: They installed a new toilet. (I supplied the toilet.) The old toilet was cleaned out and water shut off, ready for them.

Description of Work: I used Pete's Plumbing & Heating to bring our garbage disposal up to code and to fix a sewage problem. They also set up my gas fireplace insert.
