Several phone calls were made to both the office and technician.

Company came out right away, did a survey of the plumbing problem, etc. and quickly followed up with the exact cost which was $4800.00. I had to move a computer to the other side of the room that was under the leak coming from the bathroom above it and he had his electrician put in another outlet which added $200.00 to the cost. Portion of the floor was repaired and the tile in the floor in the bathroom was removed and covered with new tile and parts of the ceiling below the bathroom were patched/floated and painted. The toilet, which had a hairline crack in it, causing it to leak water on the floor was replaced which added $182.00 to the total cost. The workers came every weekday and job was done as quickly as it could be. They did a good job I thought. Only problem was that the price was too high but my back was against the wall as I needed work done immediately and there was no time to shop around for a better price.

I was given an arrival time of between 8 - 11am. The boss and one helper arrived at 11am. When I showed them the bathtub, the response was "that's sewage, you need to clean it up. Use a wet/dry vac" (Apart from being told the obvious, I also don't own a shop vac). That was the only time they spent in the bathroom. Even though numerous plumbing sites on the Internet had mentioned that Drum Traps are notoriously prone to clogging and flooding, there was no effort made to open the trap and look at it. The only work recommended was snaking out the external cleanout pipe that runs directly from my bathroom to the city sewer, followed by high-pressure water, at a cost of $275. When my son mentioned using a camera to look for a break because of the presence of gravel, the price quoted was an additional $350. The following morning, another plumber began snaking the cleanout pipe. He did find numerous pieces of old, blackened fibrous material, but could not explain why gravel - which my son and I strongly believed was an indication of a break somewhere - was backing up into my bathtub together with sewage. When I asked him if he could snake the pipe from my bathtub drain to the Drum Trap, he didn't seem very interested and said it needed a different machine. He left after about two hours, saying that they couldn't use a camera because there was water in the pipe. The standing water in the bathtub had not decreased at all and the toilet was still flushing very poorly. He offered no insights into what else might be wrong, provided no "next steps", and there was no follow-up phone call from the company, not even to see if we were satisfied with the work that was done. We felt that we were no better off! That afternoon, my son did what I would have expected an experienced plumber to do when evaluating this kind of obvious symptom - he looked in the crawl space under the house ..... and there he found a plumbing nightmare. A large pit filled with water and sewage, at the bottom of which was a clay pipe broken below the Y junction carrying wastewater from both the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. Three days of very hard work followed: pumping out sewage, sawing off the broken part of the pipe, installing flexible Fernco couplings and rejoining the two ends with PVC pipe. The bathtub now drains normally, there is no backup into my tub when the upstairs bathtub is emptied, the Drum Trap no longer floods the bathroom floor, the toilet no longer burps sewer gas and clears on the first flush. I would never recommend Pete's Plumbing: poor professionalism, shallow evaluation and no follow-up.

Pete came out to look at the job and provide an estimate. He was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done, and why. He described the problems that people have with tankless water heaters when they do not have a large enough gas line or do not have the water heater serviced. My husband met with Pete; I travel for work, so when I came home I had questions, I called Pete and he very patiently explained everything to me. We purchased the water heater and installation from Home Depot and the plumbers from Pete's Plumbing did the installation. The only reason we did not give them an "A" rating on Responsiveness, is because we have had problems calling the office and the appointment we made was not recorded by the office staff, so the plumber did not show up, and we had to schedule again. My advice would be, if you have an appointment, call them the day before to reconfirm. Pete's Plumbing did a great job installing our tankless water heater and explaining how to get the best performance from it! We were so happy with them, that we are now using them to do the plumbing as we remodel our kitchen.

The repair man was very helpful. He did the job efficiently. I would defiantly use them again.

It went well, I had no problems. He is punctual, friendly, and professional.

I was called on the ninth as I was told. We set the appointment time, and promptly at that time, he arrived. I showed the toilets and the leaking sink to the repairman, and he examined them before reporting the situation to me. He was able to repair both toilets after a quick trip to the supply house. The kitchen sink faucets still leak, but more slowly. A stripped screw prevented access to repair the problem. Anybody know how to remove a stripped screw? I have not given up on this.

I had purchased a Big Deal coupon for $39 Service Call and Whole House Inspection. At first the plumber tried to charge me 150 for unstopping the drain and then when I asked what my $39 was for, he took off $25.00. I explained when I made the appt that it was for my coupon but he acted like he had no idea what it was about. He was in quite a hurry to finish up and not very keen on giving me my Whole House Inspection. I showed him one thing I wanted to do in my shower and he gave me an estimate then left. He did unstop the drain, but I did not feel like I got what I was expecting and the whole thing was very rushed. It seems like he had no idea what the promotion offered was about, not communicated by his office or dispatcher.

Pete's failed to call the day before to confirm the appointment. Instead I was called the morning of the job. By that time I had called the big box store the night before and notified them of Pete's failure to call me. I rescheduled the appointment since I didn't want to waste taking a day off and find out that Pete's wasn't coming. Pete's blamed their failure to call me on the big box store. So several days later we rescheduled. This time Pete's called and confirmed a day ahead. Pete's was supposed to pick up the heaters and drain pans and then come to my house. When they arrived we discovered they had forgotten to bring the new drain pans that we had already paid for. This arrangement with the big box store does not involve a prejob inspection. You pay the big box store in advance for all the parts and the permit. The big box store states that "any additional parts and labor required to bring the heaters up to current plumbing code are to be agreed between the homeowner and the contractor prior to the start of the job." Pete's quoted $850 in additional charges to bring the two new heaters up to code. Knowing that this is how the big box store operates this business, I had checked out in advance from other reliable sources what the additional parts and labor would be to bring the installation up to code. The amount was about $300 including parts and labor. So Pete's Plumbing was using the opportunity to see if we were stupid enough to pay them $550 MORE than the job was worth. I had taken a day off for this, so they knew this was a big inconvenience for me that they might use to their advantage. I cancelled the job on the spot. The service man said, "No problem, it happens all the time." So apparently this approach to business is typical of Pete's Plumbing and Heating. I have seen similar accounts about them on Angie's List. I would never use this company for anything. I have since bought two new heaters and drip pans and had them installed by another company. The price to bring them up to code confirmed that Pete's was going to be $550 higher for what cost us only $300.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service. The first time he came out he surveyed what needed to be done and then I had him come back and do the faucet at a different time. I was very pleased with their services.

The technician was on time, Confute the job quickly & heath.

The inspector came to the house unaware of the Angie's List deal, even though that is what initiated the visit. So, the person who came wasn't prepared to do the inspection and someone else had to come out later. They had a nice manner and did try to make good on the deal.

I purchased a $35 Angie's List special for Pete's and scheduled them for a Friday afternoon when I could take off of work for a clogged drain. They never showed up and never called. I finally started calling them mid-afternoon. They first said that they could not find the appointment, and then admitted that it was on the schedule. They then said that they could not get anyone over on Friday or Saturday, which necessitated my calling another plumber to schedule a very expensive weekend service call. I am still out of pocket the $35, but will not ever let them work at my home given their complete lack of responsiveness and professionalism. Buyer beware!

Ray came to the house on time, was very courteous, professional, helpful and knowledgeable. He and his crew came again to my home on the date determined, on time, were efficient, cleaned up after themselves,and explained everything that was done. The work was done correctly, and I am very pleased that I now have an honest plumber that I can trust to do the work properly and not charge an exorbitant rate.

It took quite a while to schedule the visits. This may be the tenants fault. The owner was not present ...only the tenants. This was probably a mistake. The work was completed on the two units at different times due to scheduling difficulties. The inspections were carried out as promised but part of the contract was not fulfilled since the HWH's were not flushed

Excellent, patient and reliable crew. They even helped out with another plumbing issue and repaired some kitchen tile at no extra cost.

I was very dissatified with the work that they did. They came out to my house, and I felt like they were going to charge me more because I live in a nicer home. I am also a widow, and feel like they took advantage of me because of that. The first guy that came took a quick look at the pipes and said that he just want going to be able to fix the problem at all! He didnt even hardly look! He said that he could get a total replacement part that would cost over $1000! After he left, another guy came on a different day and he put in a new handle on the leaking faucet and he installed a handle that was so small I could hardly use it! I dont understand why couldn't have put my original handle back on after fixing the leaking pipe! This was not worht my money at all!

He was very prompt. When I called, I got an appointment for the following day. He looked around the areas in the home that had faucets. He gave me a very high estimate ($1400.00) to replace a water heater and raise a part under the sink. He was very prompt and loaded with information but the price is utterly ridiculous. He said he uses ream water heaters. I would like to know what is so special about those water heaters that makes them so expensive. I would have loved to have had the work done by him but not at that price.

They were able to get it done quickly. Every winter they came out to clean it and turn it on. They were prompt and professional. They were really reasonable and affordable. The guys really do know their business.

I bought a coupon to have a plumbing inspection. On the scheduled date the company arrived timely, explained that they would look at all faucets and drains, check toilets and washer and dryer, hotwater heater. Upon arrival I gave a tour of the house where all water lines could be found. I was told that my hot water heater was rotten and needed to be replaced and that lent and dust has accumulated in the dryer exhaust. which was a fire hazard. I agreed to replace the hot water heater and have the dryer exhaust cleaned. A price was given and a date set up. Two men arrived the day of the appointment. They drained the hotwater heater, while that was going on the cleaned the dryer line. They removed the old heater and replaced it with a new one. Provided me the warranty papers when the job was complete and an invoice which I paid to them directly. All and all the service was good. i however found in my attic upon getting my Christmas decorations out, a couple of items that appear to have been from the old heater. I would have liked all of that to have been removed with the old heater. I also think the inspection should have had more questions asked by the plumber since I am not sure of all that can be an issue with plumbing.
