Description of Work: I was super nervous about moving from a 2700 sq ft home with large, heavy furniture to a 750 sq foot condo. Mainly it was because I have never hired movers, and I was nervous about my expensive furniture getting messed up. I fully expected for this to be a stressful day and for something to get broken. But Arthur Perez Moving put me at ease. These guys showed up bright and early, packed everything securely and carefully, then made two stops to unload everything. NOTHING got scratched, chipped, or broken. They knew exactly what they were doing and needed no instruction from me. Once we were in the new place, they moved my furniture around until I was completely satisfied with its placement. I never even saw these guys take a break, and they worked for six hours in the New Orleans August heat. I can't say enough about Arthur Perez. I highly recommend them to any and every one.

Description of Work: The movers packed and moved all of my furniture and mattresses. They wrapped everything in blankets and disassembled pieces that had to be taken apart and moved and unpacked everything at my new address.

Description of Work: Perez moved our entire 3-bedroom household, plus my husband's workshop, to the home we'd recently bought. The crew showed up right on time and couldn't have worked harder or faster, even through the hottest part of the day. They were extremely careful with all our furnishings and very patient as we changed our minds a couple of times on some of the furniture placement in our new home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone scheduling a move.

 + -1 moreI had a question prior to moving about the mover's insurance, and they did not call me back with the answer, which I should have followed up on. I was told prior to the move that all furniture would be moved. The movers get to my house, tell me all of the times they would not move, and really did not pack up what they did move, which I was told they would do. In short, two large items were damaged, they left a very heavy box behind, and the movers did not put the boxes in the rooms that they boxes were labed to go to. They put them all in the front room. The office said it would take two hours and it took about 4, but I think it hsoudl have taken about three. They did have three guys and one was a supervisor/mover. It may have gone faster with a 4th person. I was too tired to push them, so I would suggest that you be ready to supervise all aspects of the move.
Description of Work: I hired this company to move me approximately 4 miles to my new place.

 + -1 moreChris, Chris, Joseph and Junius came promptly. They worked hard, took good care of the antiques, disassembled my son's bunk bed (and reassembled it correctly this time, unlike the North American Van Lines people who put it together wrong). They did not get everything out of the house, but only b/c it started to rain heavily...(I used David and Michael from University Movers from Craig's List to finish the job by taking what was left to storage--they were very good too---but wouldn't use for antiques). My only carp was that they stacked books on top of an antique cherry dresser (padded, but even so...NO!) They did not stack on top of any other antique pieces, so just be sure you say something to them before they get started. They padded the furniture well and there were no (new) scratches on the furniture for which I was very happy!
Description of Work: 6 hours for 4 movers from raised basement house to 2 story house with lots of books and antiques at $140/hour. Truck was plenty big enough. Used them b/c of the reviews on Angie's List. A lot of shady moving companies on Craig's List!

Description of Work: We had to move an old upright piano from the second floor of the house to the outside garage - through the kitchen, down iron stairs with one landing and some tight turns.

 + -1 moreWhen I called to make the appointment for the movers, I was told there would be three guys. However, on the day of the move, I was sure there were four guys there. About an hour into the move I thought the guys might want some water, so I grabbed four bottles to pass out. It wasn't until this moment that I realized there were only three men. That's how quick and efficient these guys were-- I truly believed there were four when there were only three!
Description of Work: This company moved furniture out of my third floor apartment into my new two-story home. None of the furniture was damaged, and there were no scrapes, scratches, or scuffs on walls or floors. Also worth noting: I had to change the location of where I was moving to (same neighborhood, but a different address) about two days before the move. This was no problem for Arthur Perez moving.

 + -1 moreThe Perez family has been in the moving business in New Orleans for at least two generations and, in my experience, their work was excellent and priced extremely reasonably on the two occasions I used them. The only problem I had during my first move was a simple but thick glass table top being broken, but the very next day a perfect replacement was brought to my home. I did not hire them for packing, so the breakage was partly my fault, since I should have wrapped it securely in bubble wrap. This company will be the one I ll call should I ever need a mover again.
Description of Work: Several years ago they moved a full van of furniture from my previous two-bedroom apartment to my current apartment within the same city. The items did not include kitchen appliances, but there were quite a few large pieces of furniture. I did not use them for packing; I did this myself.

 + -1 moreThey sent over a team of three men, and they worked fast and well. They were careful with my stuff and did not damage anything. Also, they were the best value I could find. I do not have a lot of furniture, and most companies were not willing to do the work for less than it would cost to move a full house of stuff. They saved me a lot of stress. I would recommend them to anyone.
