Axelrad was professional and thorough, exactly what we needed. The report provided had complete information about all issues and plenty of pictures. The inspectors took the time to answer all of my questions in person.

Very smoothly. The inspectors were competent and courteous. The presence of 2 individuals made it a relatively speedy process. The written report (77 pages) was detailed, accurate and illustrated with pictures that aided in my understanding of the issues.

Both realtors (for seller and buyer) were familiar with Axlerad and respected their work. Inspectors (chris and amelia) were prompt, and took approximately 3 hours to complete the inspection. They provided a pretty thorough report with photos and recommendations in just over 24 hours. Both inspectors answered all my questions, even if when some of my questions went outside the scope of their report.

As a Realtor, I've always found Axelrad to be highly professional, explaining defects with the house to the buyers, and producing a detailed report with many photos. They always arrive on time, and send 2 inspectors, so the inspection takes half the time as other inspectors.

This is the second time I've hired Axelrad and they are prompt, detail oriented and thorough. Also like that they take the time to explain what they are seeing on the spot if asked. Their reports are very detailed with pictures. I also appreciate that they employ several women in their ranks, ensuring gender diversity in a field that is typically dominated by men. Their inspectors know what they are talking about and have a very broad skillset. They do an excellent job and if I need an inspection again in the New Orleans area I will definitely hire them again.

Everything went well. I was a first-time buyer of a relatively old home in NOLA. They had prompt availability due to a cancellation. Two inspectors came to the house on a Friday. I had a 90+ page report with photos my Sunday evening. The report was comprehensive but easy enough for me to understand, even though I had not conversed directly with the inspectors themselves. The price was competitive in comparison to other word-of-mouth inspector recommendations. I called to inquire more details about a few items on the report, and Tom Axelrad called me back promptly (within the hour). I would recommend them to friends and family. I would choose their services again.

I called on Wednesday and they were able to schedule us for the following Wednesday. The young man I spoke to was courteous and professional. I received a reminder email a day or two before. When we got to the house on the scheduled day, the team was already there and had started the inspection. They were fast and thorough, pointing out things they specifically wanted us to be aware of. They were there about 2 hours, and checked with us several times before leaving. We got the 77 page report by noon that Friday. I have a friend who is an inspector in another state help us interpret the information. He was so impressed by the info and format on the report he said he was going to call them and find out what template they used. He said they gave detail, but didn't get wordy by over-exaggerating minor things. There were plenty of pictures. This same house was inspected a month earlier by a different company (for a different buyer) and that report was only about 12 pages long or so. we are very pleased with their professionalism and would recommend to any prospective buyers.

They were incredibly thorough and helpful, providing suggestions for the fixes that needed to be performed as they went through the process. They were punctual, helpful and kind. We have never had such a thorough report done for a home inspection before and highly recommend Axelrad.

I had an appointment scheduled for a Wednesday, but had to change it to an uncertain date. I was able to still get my inspection done on a Friday morning of the same week of the original appointment after rescheduling. The team showed up before the schedule time of arrival and immediately got to work. They checked everything and went everywhere. Total time was probably 1.5 hours. They worked extremely quietly, since the homeowner's baby was taking a nap. After all was said and done, the inspectors gave us a short run down of any major problems they encountered. Two days later, I had the complete 65 page home inspection report with pictures in my inbox. It had recommendations for fixes, approximate costs, and what would happen if left unchecked.

We used Mr. Axelrad's services twice now in less than a month. Unfortunately our first home fell through but when we went to look at a second home, we had no question in requesting Mr. Axelrad's services again. We chose our home inspectors based on other comments provided here in Angies list then narrowed down to Mr. Axelrad when we reviewed several sample reports provided. We are in the military and will not have the opportunity to look at all the specifics before we purchase our house. His reports are very thorough and well organized with pictures on anything that needed attention, was a potential hazard, and even included pictures of all the heating, A/C, water heaters, and pool equipment and their respective service plates which is a huge plus when your researching things from a distance. During the course of our two inspections we have spoken to three separate people and all have been extremely helpful in relaying information that has ultimately helped us purchase our new home sight unseen. The Axelrad team of inspectors arrived as planned and did a very professional job. Both of the inspectors were very knowledgeable and very thorough in their inspection. They explained any problems found and were very gave us remedies for the problems and appoximate cost of the repair. We had an excellent experience with Tom Axelrod. We were moving from the northeast down to the area and did not know any one or any companies to hire so our realtor suggested Mr. Axelrod. We couldn't even be at the inspection but his highly detailed and illustrated report was like being there. He was also very open to giving feedback and I recently asked him some questions when I moved in the house and he got back to me quickly and was very nice to help me out with my inquiries. It's difficult to have a sense of comfort with services when one is new to town but this experience was very comforting and trustworthy.

I have only been practicing real estate sales for about 10-1/2 years, but Tom is one of the very best home inspectors I have found. He is very competent in all areas of home inspection, and has always been very responsive when scheduling an inspection through follow-up with questions. What I look for in a home inspector is not simply price (many cheap guys out there) or competence (all inspectors on my recommended list are competant and knowledgeable) or an inspector who will "help me sell the house." I need an inspector with the ability to professionally and objectively present his findings to a buyer. Buying a home is a big deal for buyers, they are often nervous and the last thing they need is an inspector who will "scare" them - or worse, brush off serious issues. It is a rare talent to be able to explain serious problems in an objective way. His reports are excellent - thorough and exhaustive, which also helps Sellers and their agents understand deficiencies. (He is using a state-of-the art report generation system complete with photos and reference material. This system helps him generate the reports quickly and efficiently - and thoroughly!) His reports generally need no further explanation, but in the event there are questions from buyers, agents or sellers, he is always willing to explain. He is also available after closing for any issues that may arise Tom is one of the best inspectors I have ever encountered and my ONLY hesitation in writing this review is that I am afraid the word will spread and he will get too busy. (just kidding - he truly deserves success and more business!) Of course he has assistants to help balance his workload. You will not be disappointed in his service.
