They replaced very old skylights.. Showed up when they said they would.. For the first appointment, and for all of the work. And even one day that they didn't have to..(on a Saturday).. Just to beat the rain that was possibly coming on Monday.. I had three estimates, theywere

First, the good-- Magnolia Roofing quickly responded to my request for an estimate, and after I'd narrowed down my list of shingle-colors, gave me the addresses of several homes within driving distance, so I could see what the different-colored installed shingles actually looked like. The owner was very good about quickly answering my emailed questions about the details. I wanted an upgrade to 30-lb felt, and she agreed to do it for an extra $175 (though strangely, she handed me an invoice with her original price of $8,140.00 on May 1. When I pointed the undercharge out to her, she said she'd "split the difference with me," and added $100 to the invoice) . I work two jobs and my wife is a semi-invalid, so my schedule for getting this job done was slightly limited, and Magnolia scheduled my job quickly, which I very much appreciated. I arranged to stay home from my day job on April 30 to make sure things went smoothly. I was warned that a conveyor truck and a refuse trailer would be parked in my driveway all day, so I moved both of my cars out of the carport before 6:30am. The crew did not arrive at 7:00am, which was the plan, and they did not get started until after 9:00am. They impressed me as experienced, hard-working young men, but because they started late, they did not have the job anywhere close to being done by 4:30pm, when I had to leave to work my evening job. Before I left ,the foreman told me they wanted to finish, and would work until dark. When I got home at 8:45pm, the roofers were gone, but the refuse trailer was still parked in my driveway, and it stayed there until about noon on May 1. This was a minor, but noticeable inconvenience for me. The roofing job appears to be OK, but the clean-up was UNACCEPTABLE for the following reasons: 1--As far as I can tell, their entire cleanup consisted of pulling up the tarps they'd placed around my house (in a hurry, in the dark), and blowing off the roof with an electric blower. 2--After the refuse trailer was finally removed, there were several piles of about 45 marble-sized, concrete-encrusted pieces of gravel left in my driveway. I think this debris came from the refuse trailer, but for $8,240, I shouldn't have had to pick it up. 3--LOTS of nails and roofing debris were left adjacent to my house. I found an entire "string" of nails hanging from my philodendron and handed them to the owner when we walked around the house on May 1. She said, "they were supposed to use a machine with magnets to sweep around your house." 4--On the day of the job, my carport was a shady, convenient place, and the crew ate their lunch there (which I have no problem with). Later, in their mad rush to leave in the dark, they spilled a LARGE amount of a sticky-sweet, sugary drink on my carport. It left a truly disgusting, sticky, ant-attracting stain about 3 feet wide and 10 feet long. I showed this stain to Magnolia's owner on May 1, and her exact words were: "I can't believe they didn't get some water and clean this up." I have to admit that while she was in my carport she also spotted and picked up a nail from the center of the parking area. For this, I'm very grateful, because if she hadn't picked it up, I have no doubt that it would have ended up in one of the tires of my Honda Civic. But why didn't her crew clean up the carport where they staged materials and ate lunch? 5--I have a small roofed patio attached to my house, and this 20 x 20 metal patio roof has gutters with downspouts. It had nothing to do with Magnolia's roofing contract. Two days after the roofing job, I climbed up a ladder to look at those gutters, and found them COMPLETELY FILLED with roofing debris, nails, and (this really takes the cake) an un-opened 11.5 oz. container of Core Power Natural High Protein Milk Shake Drink (Strawberry-Banana). I don't think it's possible to blow roofing debris off my roof WITHOUT NOTICING that some of it is landing on the patio roof and gutters, but the crew apparently did (or just didn't care) Quite obviously, no responsible person thoroughly inspected the clean up.. As I said before, the roofing job APPEARS to be acceptable, but the unacceptable clean-up makes me worry about what corners may have been cut during the roofing. I also think the crew was under great pressure to finish my job and move onto the next one on May 1. Because they got started two hours late, they didn't have time to clean-up my house in the daylight. Rather than admit that they were going to have to come back in daylight on May 1, they chose to do a hurried, sloppy, unprofessional clean-up. For this much money, the clean should have been painless, and it wasn't. I suspect it would have been much better if the roofing crew had started at 7:00am, but I was prepared for the job to last at least parts of two days, and it obviously should have. I had a hard time "grading" Magnolia using the above ratings, because EXCEPT for the clean-up, Magnolia seemed like a pretty good, professionally run company. Should I give them an "F" in Punctuality because they started late two hours late? The clean-up lacked both Quality and Professionalism, so should I lower their otherwise earned "A's" and "B's" to "D's"? They obviously cut corners on the clean-up, but does that mean that they also cut corners on the roofing? I think they probably did a good job on the roofing, but I just don't know. That's what causes me the most pain..

It was great. The owner arrived when scheduled and spent a considerable amount of time explaining what needed to be done to replace the roof. I was provided with a couple of different oprtions and estimates, in writing.

Called Magnolia Roofing at 8:30 in the morning. Came out that day and did the repairs. Clean, quick response. Would use again.

She showed up on-time and got to work right away. They were very up-front with the cost. Also, they suggested that I replaced a couple of other vents due to the vagueness of the home inspection report. I consented to the additional repairs just to be safe. Again, very up-front with the cost before they performed the additional repairs. Easy to schedule and great communication. I would use them again.

The gentleman who responded to my call was very prompt, courteous and professional. He inspected the roof and found the cause of my leak. Brought pictures of the problem and gave me the quote for fixing it. He was able to perform the work that day and had the job complete in 3 hours. I would definitely recommend them.

They determined that the roof was not the issue, it is my air conditioning unit. I was very satisfied with their customer service. They were very polite and informative. I would recommend them.

Julie and the gentleman she sent to our house were wonderful. Prompt, courteous and answered all of our questions. We were very happy with our experience and now have a local roofer we can count on in the future.

I called the main office in the morning and someone came the same day in the afternoon. I was very happy with the prompt response. The person who came went up the roof and the attic and spent good time checking everything. He was very professional and provided me with an estimate at that time. We did not use them because his quote was 50% more that another bid we had that also had great reviews. Sometimes I think we get over charged due to where we live... which would be a shame. I really wanted to go with them, since their office is right here in the Northshore.

Took tech 1.5 hours.

Called Magnolia for an appointment, and within an hour to an hour an a half, they were at my home ready to work! Repair took about 30-45 minutes to complete. Roofer was very nice and professional, and seemed very knowledgeable! Will use this company again, if needed! Thanks!

Roofers arrived, examined the roof, figured out why it was leaking (improperly installed valley), and fixed it. He invited me to climb onto the roof so I could see exactly what he was doing, and explained as he worked. Work was performed quickly and to high standards, and we have not had any more leaking. Cost was reasonable for what they did. They were a bit slow responding at first, and it took about a week to get to us. However, it was the first dry period in a while, and I'm sure they had a backlog. Definitely recommend these folks for roof repair.

Everything went very well and we would highly recommend them to anyone.

The vendor arrived when he said he would, performed the work for the estimated cost, and left no mess whatsoever. Was paid by credit card over the phone the next day.

Out of 6 roofers we contacted, Julie at Magnolia Roofing and two others responded. Julie came out at the end of the week to do the estimate. Her estimate was very similar to the others we got. I liked that she was very professional and addressed all of our problem areas. She was able to have her team come out and do the job a week later. She kept in contact throughout the whole project, even though she was busy with jury duty. The first day was delayed due to rain. The second day threatened to rain, but they pushed through and, luckily, it never did rain. The men were very efficient.

Curtis performed the work. He was punctual, professional, and courteous. He arrived when he said he would on both days. He worked steadily until the repairs were completed. He made some temporary repairs when he gave me the estimate since the weather was so bad and he wouldn't be able to return for a week. I have had no problems since the repairs were completed

they came out on Friday like the said and made the diagnosis of the problem. they also gave me three solutions to the problem and three prices on the three approaches to solve the problem. actually all the prices were reasonable. they showed up on Saturday morning 7/27 and started the repair and completed covering the roof with felt and started laying shingles. they were interrupted by thunderstorms and there was no more leaks. they returned promptly Sunday morning 7/28 and completed the job and then cleaned the area. they were very professional, prompt, pleasant to deal with and we were very satisfied with the job they did and the way they did it. it was a very good experience.

Really well. Communication was excellent. Showed up when promised. No hassle local roofer for the Mandeville area. Again, communication was incredible. Would use again in the future.

Curt was very professional and prompt. He oversaw the job and completed it promptly. He also gave me a detailed estimate of exactly what was needed to ensure that my roof would be repaired and would be leak-proof. I was concerned that the company that reroofed our home after Katrina did a poor job and I'd need to replace the whole roof (it's only been 8 years on a 30 year shingled roof), but Curt assured me that the current roof had some more years to it. The two leaks were in common areas for leaks if the roofing isn't done by a competent, conscientious company. I was expecting the worse and was thrilled to solve 2 problems for less than $1200!

During Hurricane Isaac I had damage and leaks on my home's old asphalt roof. After inspecting the damage and discussing with the insurance adjuster, it was obvious that the entire roof needed to be replaced. The thought of having to go through the hassles of locating, qualifying, and ultimately hiring a roofing contractor was something that I dreaded. As most can imagine, in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina/Rita there is no shortage of roofing contractors in SE Louisiana. But that over-abundance of available folks calling themselves "roofers" didn't make the task easier. I'd heard plenty of horror stories about the bad experiences of others. However, I am pleased to share that my experience with Magnolia Roofing and Exteriors was very professional and successful! My specific observations about this company and it's services are as follows - - This firm is very well reviewed on Angie's List. I was also able to obtain a number of personal recommendations and referrals from other individuals and banks in the community. These comments certainly helped me to decide to have them bid on this project. - The owner replied to all of my initial telephone questions in a very straight-forward and professional manner. - Once we set up a time for a site inspection to develop the bid, the owner arrived promptly. The initial site inspection included having me walk the property to point out my specific concerns as well as ask any questions. The detailed inspection was quite thorough and involved investigating all of my concerns and identifying some unique features of my particular roof. - The quote was provided immediately after the end of the inspection - in writing. The owner fully explained the specifics of the quote, including unique features, materials options, estimated time-frame, and pricing. In order to assess work quality and color options, the owner also provided my with locations of previous roofs that the firm had completed. - After reviewing bids from numerous other contractors, I selected Magnolia Roofing and Exteriors. Once again, the owner was very prompt in returning my call and arrived promptly to finalize the contract - in writing. Copies of all applicable insurance policies were provided prior to beginning of the project - this is something that the owner brought up without my having to ask for copies. - Initial scheduling of the project was done with consideration to my personal schedule. And when a change needed to be made due to weather conditions, the owner communicated with me well in advance to re-schedule. I was kept informed throughout the entire project. - The work itself started right on time. The entire crew were courteous and professional during the entire time they were at my home. Daily work site clean up was very thorough. Again, the owner was on-site at various times throughout the project to provide me with work status, discuss issues identified, and to answer my questions. The project was completed in the original estimated time-frame. - Overall, Magnolia Roofing and Exteriors, the owner, and the entire crew earned the ratings that I've noted - straight A's! From start to finish this was a wholly professional and pleasant experience. The pricing was fair and reasonable for the amount of work and quality of materials I chose - certainly well within the range of other quotes that I obtained for this project. The project was completed for the original quoted bid...no hidden surprises. The initial deposit amount (1/3 of quote) is very reasonable - lower than deposit amounts required by some other contractors. This firm has a variety of payment options available and the owner immediately provided written receipts for all payments and an overall invoice at the completion of the project. I will certainly recommend this firm to anyone with similar project needs; and other home owners in our area should include this firm when obtaining competitive bids for their roofing needs.

I'm very satisfied with the service. The good thing was, he came out just to look at the problem and he found out that it was something that he thought he could do right away. It wasn't anything too major so he did it right then and there, I didn't have to get another appointment with him and I liked that. He was very conscientious enough to do it right there. I also liked the fact that it was owned by a woman, it was a positive thing for me. I would definitely use their services again.

They came out on the Feb 13th, 2013 to give me an estimate. They came out on the Feb 21st, 2013 to completed the work. They were on time, they did good work, I had no problems with them.
