I have always the found work very professional. Needless to say I find his pricing very good. I am a retired banker who specialized in residential construction lending; therefore, I have some appreciation of construction budgets and quality. I highly recommend MACK's Painting and Carpentry they are professional and take pride in doing things right the first time but most important they stand behind their work.

Wonderful! Mack's carpentry & paintings is a top notch company. Mack was responsive to all of my requests and continued to follow up at each step of the project. The crew was professional and provided quality work. They went above and beyond what was expected. When the job was complete my deck was left immaculate and the furniture was carried back. Mack again followed up to make sure that I was satsfied with my new railings. I have already asked for an estimate on a new project for the springtime. I highly recommend this company.

They arrived a little late but were able to get everything done in one day. They did an excellent job repairing the problem areas on our 1890's house without making it look shabby. We'd definitely hire Mac's Construction again.

Mack and his crew provided high quality workmanship at a fair price. They treated an older apartment with care allowing it to retain its original charm while getting a much needed face lift. In addition they hung cabinets and doors, and trimmed out windows and ledges throughout the apartment. Great work!

I wanted to have the home?s exterior painted, and my back porch and steps were in need of repair. After consulting with different house painters in the area, I decided to go with Mack?s Painting and Carpentry. I found Mack to be frank and forthright in his assessment of what was needed to restore my home?s appearance, while keeping its neoclassical colonial style. Mack described the services that he would perform, which included a power wash of the home?s exterior, application of an oil based stain to home?s cedar shingles and an oil based paint to home?s wood trim, replacement of my old back porch and stairs, and replacement of the home?s gutters. He provided me with estimated costs for these tasks as well as additional cost estimates for repairs that might be required prior to entering into a contract. Mack and his crew worked well together and effectively executed the work described in our contract agreement(s). The men worked continuously from the scheduled start date to the date of completion. I was very pleased with the performance of Mack?s Painting and Carpentry. Mack always handled himself in a professional manner, and he made every effort to meet my expectations. I am very satisfied with both Mack and the work done by Mack?s Painting and Carpentry.

Mack's crew, including Ronny and Terry, tackled framing reinforcement and modifications to our 110 year old apartment. They came focused and prepared from the first day on the job, and were able to get the work done in an expeditious manner over the course of a week. Their price for the work accomplished was on point, but I would say that the most impressive aspect of their team was the level of communication and willingness to make alterations and modifications to the project as it progressed. They didn't nickle and dime me for numerous changes that I requested throughout the project, and from day one were focused on making a quality final product. Additionally, they were accessible by phone or text at every point of the project, which I consider a very positive attribute in a company.

We had a great experience with Mack's Carpentry and Painting. Our front porch was basically falling apart. Like anyone looking for work to be done, we put the project out to bid. Mack responded to a request for an estimate, showed up when he said he would, and had a detailed estimate to us the next day. His price was right in the middle of all the estimates we received. My wife had a few design suggestions she wanted to add to the project. With each request, Mack and the woman who works in his office, Christie, provided us with new estimates, sometimes two a day as we kept changing our minds, in an incredibly timely fashion. When the estimates began to go past our budget, Mack was willing to work with us and get us what we wanted for a price we could afford. Mack's crew got to work a few weeks later (when they were scheduled to start). They were incredibly professional and cleaned up after themselves each day. On the first day, they realized that the original framing, which they had simply intended on reinforcing, was completely rotted and had to be rebuilt from scratch. Mack called me that night to let me know what they had to do, along with some other notes. And the cost of this extra work? Nothing. I could not believe it. The guys did a great job and we are very happy with the finished product. We ran into Mack on a Saturday when they were finishing up for the day. We were with our young son and mentioned to Mack that they did not have to put our porch swing back up because we were going to paint it. When I got home on Monday, the day they finished the work, the swing had been painted! There were a few minor touch ups we requested and they were done before I got home. Mack's Carpentry is very responsive, incredibly professional, and do great work. Mack told me when he came to do the estimate that he really treats every project as if it were his own house. Through this experience, I have found that these words ring true for him. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

Mack's Painting and Carpentry is the definition of professionalism and quality. We had a detached garage that was over 50 years old with rotted out supports and no poured foundation. Before Mack's team began working on it we thought for sure we were looking at a lost cause. The garage leaned so significantly to the back and right that we figured it would collapse with another rough winter. Mack's team was able to straighten the garage to an almost perfect square, pour a foundation on the right side, build up supports, replace rotted wood, insulate, side, replace two windows, redo the roof, and install a brand new garage door all within the contracted rate. We were so impressed! Not only is the quality of their work top notch but Mack's team was always there when they said they would be, explained the work they were doing, and maintained a level of professionalism not easily found in the business. We will definitely be using Mack's Painting and Carpentry for any future projects we have!

The quality of work done by Mack's crew was exceptional and I would absolutely hire them again. Yes, it took a while between getting a quote and getting the work done, but our job was relatively small so I understood being lower on the priority list. The office kept in touch with me while I was waiting and they were totally honest about how long it might take to get me on the schedule. I can't ask for much more than that. Once the date was scheduled, the crew showed up on time, did an outstanding job, and the work was completed for exactly what was quoted. I would hire Mack back in a second. It is clear his team takes pride in what they do.

This was a big deal purchase. I had to wait about 6 months to get the work done. They did a good job although it took a while to get it done. The price was good. They were responsive; they just kept pushing the date out.

I'd heard nothing by July 16th so I left voice mail. Administrator replied via Angie's List messaging, said Mack was on vacation, but would see, after he returned, if we could schedule something soon. It's now October 20th. If the job was too small I wish he's just said so. I'm moving on. Why a D instead of an F? In person, Mack was a pleasant guy. Unfortunately that isn't enough. I'm disappointed it didn't work out.

Mack and his team are honest, reliable, and truly helpful professionals who really know their craft. Excellent painters and craftsmen, there is no request that they can't handle. They were punctual, very polite and respectful of being in my home. I was impressed by how organized they were... the team was expertly managed and was very efficient with their time. Their communication with me was great and I always understood what was going to happen and what to expect at a particular time or day. This was so important to me, as I work from home and also live with an elderly parent. Like Mack said, they just wanted to be sure I was happy. And I was! I highly recommend Mack's Painting.

Mac was a lifesaver. After a nightmarish experience with a previous contractor who did terrible work and then bailed on the job, we called Mac and he came right away, assessed what could be salvaged, what would have to be scrapped, and how much the whole job would cost. Everything cost exactly what he said it would, no overages, he finished the work quickly and it came out beautiful. He even substituted some more expensive materials at no additional charge in order to expedite the job. He also went the extra mile in helping us deal with the city building inspector, which was not easy.

Kristy mentioned that it may have been possible that Mack may have accidentally deleted it, which I was sympathetic to. During this conversation, my husband re-emailed the design drawings, and I sent another quick email to stress that it was a priority that we have the porch estimate. Very quickly after, my husband was sent an email from Kristy (which I felt was inappropriate and personal), telling us that Mack didn't want the email, and that she'd told Mack about our conversation, and that he was no longer interested in the job. I felt that the tone of this email was highly unprofessional. I forwarded this email back to the company personally, and wanted to let him know that although my phone conversation with Kristy was frustrating at moments, there was never any abusive language or escalation on my part. I also wanted them to know that if the I then received a combative, highly unprofessional, and personal email in reply, which was unnecessary and infuriating.

I can't say enough good things about Mack and his team. My wife and I purchased a summer house in Rockport a few years ago and finally got around to renovating it this spring. The house needed a lot of TLC due to years of neglect. Mack and his crew did a full renovation of the interior, and the house now looks brand new. Mack kept the project on budget, and communication was fantastic throughout the job (thanks Christie!). I work in the apartment management/development business so I have a lot of experience with renovations, and I must say that Mack's workmanship is top notch. His crew did the majority of the work (painting, finish carpentry, etc.), and when subs were necessary, Mack did an excellent job of managing them and making sure they met his exacting standards. I was so happy with the work that my company decided to have Mack bid on some large projects we're doing within our apartment portfolio. His pricing was competitive, and he's about 1/3 of the way through his first major project with us - painting the common hallways in a 100-year-old apartment complex containing 160 units in downtown Boston. Not surprisingly, the hallways are coming out great. Thank you Mack and team!

Overall Mack was a pleasure to work with. He showed up on time for our first meeting and he provided a very candid assessment as to the scope of the work that needed to be done. He promised a quote by the following Monday and delivered on this. Based on our meeting and Mack's professionalism and punctuality I did not bother to get another quote which is why I rated him incomplete in regards to pricing. Most painters I work with do not have any carpentry skills so it was great that Mack could both reconstruct our fence and handle the painting. Upon receipt of a signed contract Mack got to work within a week. The job became much more complicated once they started taking apart our fence and Mack promptly requoted the job accordingly. His crew was on site every day from beginning until completion with the exception of one rainy day and one day when an unexpected family emergency arose. Mack's is a family business and I had no problem with this. Over the course of the week they were performing work on site there were a few other carpentry needs I needed addressed and they took care of just about all of them and added the charges to the final bill. I would highly recommend their service and I would certainly use them again for any carpentry needs.

We got an e-mail response from Mack's, and scheduled an appointment for Mack to come by for an estimate. We accepted the scheduled appointment, and Mack's did not show up or call to re-schedule.

Everything went as planned. Mack arrived promptly to give a free estimate. He returned about a week later when winter weather was favorable for the job. Work was completed in about two days. Both he and his assistant were friendly and professional. They provided quality work and clean-up. Mack also provided me some pointers and assistance on other projects I was working on around the house during this period.

Mack and the guys are very good at what they do. They are all VERY detail oriented and do an awesome job for such a reasonable price!! (They were also very good with our kids asking them questions AND were very attentive to the fact that we had pets roaming around the yard 'investigating' while they were working!) They were wonderful and we cannot recommend them enough!! *We loved having Mack and the crew here so much that we had him come back today (4/3/15) to set him up to fix up our two bathrooms!!

WE discussed the job for some time before committing and getting it done. I think that is the best way to get mutual agreement and an excellent job for me as a customer. I knew what we were going to do in advance, I knew what the colors were going to be by having painted samples, and I knew what risks I was taking in terms of matching colors. In all respects I am completely satisfied with the results.
