Mack's Painting & Carpentry

I cannot say enough compliments about Mack and his guys! From the first meet until the project was over, they were courteous, respectful of our space, and responsive. I hired them to expand a closet and turn it into a pantry and create a multi-purpose sink/dog wash and install a barn door. I'm so happy with how it all turned out. Bill was our main Jack of All Trades, and he was amazing! Wayne was our plumber, Tommy was our painter, etc. etc. They were all great guys. Definitely will call them again for future projects.

They are by far the best company to work with. Mack/ Mack's is the only person/ company I will ever have paint again for me. He is so thorough, clean and fast. I can't wait to have him paint some more rooms ASAP. Thank you Mack!!!

It took them a while to get to the job because they're busy but once they got to it, the work was top quality and the crew hard-working and trustworthy. While on site, they discovered rot in our recently-rebuilt front porch. We received an amendment to the original proposal, agreed to the additional cost, and they took the rotting sections down, treated for carpenter ants, and rebuilt and painted it. They were very neat, cleaning up the debris from cutting the Azek each day when they were done. Very happy with the result. Would definitely hire them again.

I contacted Mack's at the beginning of the summer (June) for a quote. I received the quote on 7/3/2018. On 7/31/2018 I sent the signed (scanned/emailed) to the company accepting the proposal. I was told the usual turn around time would be 3-4 weeks. After a month I still hadn't heard anything. I called and got Mack and was told that I was on the calendar for the early October. It's now December and no word from them! I read the other "F" ratings and this appears to be a common theme - no communication! I agree with one of the reviews that if this job was too small for you to bother with then it is only courteous to contact your customers and decline the business.

The end results are amazing! Mack and his team were on-time, professional and provided stupendous results. Also the turnaround time was immediate.

I have used Mack for a few projects on my houses in Lynn. He sanded and stained the outside of one house and it came out beautifully. He is very busy and it did take him a little while to get to the job, but once he got to work, it was completed in a neat and professional manner. We had to hang a storm door and the company sent out 3 broken doors and then the door swung the wrong way. I was a little frustrated because I didn't want to settle for a wrong swinging door and Mack made sure to correct it. The new door looks great and was worth the wait. Mack has always communicated well with me. I know he's a busy guy but he has never led me on to believe he could get the job done sooner than he could. If he ever had to miss a day due to a customer emergency or bad weather, he would always let me know which I truly appreciate. While Mack might be a little more expensive than some of the people you will get quotes from, his work really does speak for itself. I have been very happy with all the work Mack has done for me an will continue to use him for exterior work on my homes. Thank you Mack.

It took a while to schedual the first meet, he is super busy. He was 15 minutes early and was irritated that I pulled up right after I pulled in. He started out the conversation with lets not waste each others time. I can't do the job until the winter. He clearly was knowledgable and I believe he would be honest. I didn't choose him because I got a good quote for another company who could start right away and treated me in a smoother maner.

Our project involved prepping and painting a 3 story home which included pressure wash, sanding and exterior painting. Communication from the time we requested a quote and throughout the project was excellent. Mack's crew is very pleasant and hardworking. They clean up at the end of every day. We were asked every day if we were happy with their work and were given many opportunities to ask about anything that came to mind. We felt completely at ease asking questions. Mack and his crew are experts in several crafts like masonry and carpentry, not just painting and were able to repair places where rot had settled in over the years. We are happy customers and highly recommend Mack and his team.

Called them twice. Office person assured me twice that Mack would call to discuss the job. Never heard back.

We are very satisfied with this company. We had several stair treads that had been badly gnawed by our litter of puppies and needed repair/ replacement. We were dreading the though of having to move out of the house for several days with our dogs while the work and polyurethane finishes were done. Mack came out and took a look, then sent his floor specialist out to look. No problem! They did all the measuring and then cut and finished the treads offsite, so that they were able to do the demolition and installation of the new, pre-finished treads all in one day. This was a big relief for us, with a busy house full of dogs, kids, grandkids, having to leave for several days while the polyurethane coats were done would have been a huge inconvenience. The workers got the job done in one day, and they were friendly, professional, and cleaned the job site completely before they left. The price was reasonable and we're so happy with the quality of the work. We'll definitely call them again for future projects.

Mack and his team took on a small but challenging basement project. We purchased a house with a small finished basement that we knew was in need of work. We knew the floors were uneven, but the severity was masked by a carpet put down by the old home owners. I'm still amazed at the finished product and how nice the new flooring looks. Mack was communicative throughout the project and very professional. His pricing was extremely fair. Highly recommended!

Great work, Everything looks great. The bay window looks really nice. He will be doing more work in my house such as gutters and door frames. Highly recommend.

Mack did an excellent job on my house which is situated on the ocean in Nahant. What is particularly impressive with Mack and all his crew is their dedication to top quality painting and carpentry and their sense of pride and commitment to excellent workmanship. They also stuck to their schedule even when it meant bringing in extra workers on the final afternoon of completion. All in all I highly recommend Mack and his hard working, courteous and professional team.

This gentleman was professional, caring and left our property after finishing the job in impeccable condition. We had a physical therapy visit and we felt extremely comfortable to leave our home with he and his employee behind. He called us to let us know that he would be 20 minutes later than planned due to traffic. He was true to his word. As the project progressed he made us aware of the situation at different times. We need more work on our property this summer such as painting, replacing rotted siding etc. and we have already make arrangements for him to do the work.He called us the next day to make sure that everything was in tact. We are extremely happy with this company.

It exceeded expectations. If I would build a new house, they'd be the first I'd call. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and helped make this old home look new. Very pleased with the results.

The experience was bittersweet at best. I think it would have been a better experience if I did not get a window replaced. They were already back ordered 3-4 weeks which was fine with me. However, after that time period the project was delayed for another 4 weeks just because of the one window. After exchanging E-mails back and forth. We agreed to start the work minus the window. And do the window separately when it comes in. I was satisfied with the quality of the work one the siding and the window repairs. I had enough time to paint the siding before it got too cold. When the window came in and finally replaced, they addressed and fixed a few more rotting issues with the window. The contractor did not charge for the extra work because of the delays.

Mack and his team went above and beyond. The total commitment to making this project look like new is what sets Mack apart and why I would trust him to work on all my projects. I strongly recommend Mack, he won't steer you wrong and he will treat your project like it is his own, this is just what you want when you want the project done right the first time, do yourself a favor and hire Mack.

Mack provided an estimate for various work needed for a condo. He arrived on time, the estimate was reasonable, and Mack was very personable, communicative and professional. The only reason why we did not have the work done by Mack is that we changed the scope of what we needed done. If we need anything else done in the future, we would not hesitate to call Mack.

He, along with his assistant, did an outstanding job. Before starting the job, he made sure that everything in the room, including the floor, was protected with a cover. When they finished the job they cleaned up everything, not only sweeping the floor, but washing it as well. I have used Mack's Painting and Carpentry years ago do do work in my kitchen. Again, I was not disappointed with his work! He, along with his employee, were prompt, polite, and very thorough. I would highly recommend them and plan on using them again in the future!

They did a great job. They left the place cleaner than when they came in. They took really good care of me. I recommend them highly.

Mack's team was very professional, courteous and cleaned up after themselves on a daily basis. All of the windows fit perfectly and are very professionally installed. The interior and exterior paint job looks fantastic!! My friends and neighbors have all commented on the excellent job that was done. Based on my satisfaction of this work, I have also gotten quotes from Mack's for a new storm door and a replacement bulkhead. I am sure they will be installed with the same craftsmanship as were the windows. I would be very happy to recommend this company to anyone.
