A little over a year ago, my wife and I purchased the home that we hoped to watch our children grow up in. Just recently, however, we noticed kitchen tiles cracking and laminate flooring warping in our living room. After some online research, I discovered the likely problem: subfloor moisture and potentially mold. With such a significant potential problem, my wife and I scoured the internet to find the proper company for the job. We soon discovered that only one company appeared to encompass the expertise needed to solve our problem. That company was Sunlight Contractors. During my initial conversation with Ira, he ensured me that Sunlight would solve our problem. He explained the process needed to remove the moisture and mold from our subfloors so that my family could return to our normal lives. Within two days, Ira sent Clayton to inspect my home. Clayton took moisture readings from under my home and removed insulation to check for moisture and mold on the exterior of the subfloors. His moisture readings were high, very high. Clayton told me that the moisture under my house was the second highest he had ever seen. He also explained to me that my house was covered in mold. Clayton explained his findings to Ira, who warned me that my house was "sick." Despite these scary diagnoses, Clayton and Ira's demeanor kept my wife and I calm and reassured. Although our problems were serious, Ira assured us that our problems would be resolved. Clayton even provided empathy: suggesting that bad things like this unfortunately happen to good people, but health, family, and God trump all. Clayton and Ira, unlike many others in the industry, were not simply looking for another payday, they were compassionate. Since our initial phone conversation, there has been a lot of progress on our home. Ira's crew, including Clayton, have 1) removed all the insulation from under my house, 2) sprayed and killed the mold on the bottom of the subfloors, 3) started the process of drying the subfloors with an indirect heater, 4) demolished the interior floors of our home to assess the damage from the interior, 5) sprayed mold on the interior of our subfloors, 6) checked for mold behind the walls (thankfully there was none), and 7) arranged for interior dehumidifiers to dry the interior of the subfloors. We are still towards the beginning stages of our process, but so far I cannot be any more pleased than I am with Sunlight Contractors. The upcoming work schedule includes continued drying and mold remediation, application of closed-cell spray foam insulation on the exterior of our subfloors, and installing new tile and laminate flooring throughout the house. Thus far, Ira and his crew have done amazing work and have the unique characteristics to keep you calm during dark days. I cannot recommend this company enough. If you have subfloor moisture problems, you do not need to think twice about calling Sunlight Contractors. They will get the job done, and will do so with unparalleled professionalism, courtesy, and compassion.

The past few months have probably been the most difficult and stressful time of my life. My youngest son was born with a rare congenital disorder called agenesis of the corpus callosum. The affects of this disorder can range from virtually asymptomatic to severe neurological disabilities. The last thing I needed was to discover an extensive moisture and mold problem growing under the subfloor of my home. My husband searched for a company with stellar reviews and decided upon Sunlight Contractors. After dealing with this company I can understand why they have so many rave reviews. Clayton and his crew were out the next day pulling down insulation, remediating the mold and drying out the subfloor. Unfortunately, because the mold and moisture problem had been neglected for so long by the previous owner, all our flooring would need to be replaced. The flooring expert came out that night measuring how much we’d need and began demo within 3 days of his initial visit. Sunlight Contractors have been professional, fast and fairly priced. They have made what is a very stressful time in my life so much easier and I am very grateful. They’ve allowed me to focus on my family and not have to worry about my house. I know my house is in good hands.

Sunlight Contractors did my spray foam insulation for my attic. Ever since, my house has been set at 75 degrees and I'm COMFORTABLE! Sometimes, I'm even COLD! Before having my insulation done, my thermostat was never set above 69 degrees and I was paying for that heavily in my energy bill. I can't wait to see how much lower my energy bill is after Sunlight Contractors. Their professional attitude, genuine concern, and knowledgeable approach to my insulation needs played a large part in my selection of this company and I will recommend this company to anyone looking for insulation work.

Sunlight Contractors just finished work on my daughter's house and the difference is immediately noticeable. Her house is cooler and more comfortable and I can tell she is very happy with the work done. The company's employees were trustworthy, competent, and the type of people you can feel comfortable working on your house when you aren't there.

My issues started when we noticed our original floor boards in our 100 year old house started cupping on the edges. With the amount of humidity and rain that we get I had moisture problems under my house. My initial online research led me to another company that told me about their fancy elaborate system that would take care of all of my problems. Evidently they were in over their head because they stopped returning my calls and emails about the quote that was promised to me the next day. One week later I called Sunlight Contractors. I received a call from Ira that same day. He knew what my problem was and how to fix it before laying eyes on it. Someone came by the house the next morning and I had the quote that same day. Three days later they showed up to my house and went to work. They sealed off the underside of the house and used an indirect heater and duct work to dry out the wood. Four days later the closed cell spray foam was installed. That was yesterday, so far so good. My floors have mostly returned to original state and the entire down stairs feels more stable. Time will tell on the energy savings but I am sure it will be significant. The entire crew was professional and seems to have eliminated our problems and helped us preserve our home. I needed my insulation redone in my attic and did quite a bit of research into who I would like to do the work. When I got to Sunlight Contractors, I left a message asking for a quick quote and more information. Mr. Ira at Sunlight Contractors got back to me that night, well past business hours. He gave me every amount of information you could wish to have when selecting a company to do work on your home. He told me to make sure that whomever I got to do the work was a licensed contractor, to check with mastersprayfoam.com to make sure that I was getting a quality company to do the work, to check out the Better Business Bureau to look into reviews left by people who had hired different companies. Thank goodness he did, because of the 4 different companies I was looking at, Sunlight Contractors was the only business that was a licensed contractor, a master spray foam insulator, and the reviews on the BBB were outstanding. His men were punctual and efficient, getting out the loose insulation in my attic in just a few hours, with only two men working. And they kept the whole work site clean and organized. There was nothing for me to do except let them in! He answered any questions I had, no matter the time of night, was extremely knowledgeable, willing to accommodate my busy schedule, and I never felt pressured to chose his company over another. He was honest about what specs were required for code and I really felt like he was personally looking out for my best interests. These attributes of Mr. Ira are the reason I chose Sunlight Contractors to work on my home and are the reason I will recommend this company to any person looking for insulation installation.

Absolutely by far the best! Over the past 50 years of haveing had many workers come and go, Ira, Allen, and team of Sunlight Contactors are at the top of my list. Not only professional and hard working, but always had time to let me know what was going on in each stage of the job. They are also aware of keeping things clean along the way. I called on a Wednesday and Mr. Ira called me back immediately. He answered many of my questions over the phone. We set up an appointment for an estimate on the Friday of the same week. Corey, one of his employees, finished up a job early and was able to come out on that Thursday to take all his measurements and answered all the questions that had occurred to me since my conversation with Ira. We received and accepted the quote on the next day. There was a crew at my house the Saturday of the same week to remove the old insulation. The crew that came out was awesome; they were very friendly and cleaned up the house very well. The foam crew came in that following Monday and did great job. They were prompt courteous and also cleaned up well. It's been 2 weeks now of 90° + temperatures and the 20 year old AC unit in the house isn't struggling to keep up anymore. We had a wonderful experience with Mr. Ira and his crew of professional and hardworking individuals. This company delivers exceptional professional service fueled by deep expertise. Perfect. First contact with Ira of Sunlight was pleasant, informative, honest, polite, and very professional. The man he sent out, Allen, was equally professional in addition to being expertly qualified to find the leak and repair it. In all aspects I felt completely comfortable and confident of his skill and ability. Ira was careful to explain some of the difficulties of actually finding a leak in a roof and I appreciated his honesty. I was very pleased, however, when Allen was able to find it and fix it in a very short time. He also saved me money off of the estimated cost by discovering there was a heater jack in the attic which had just not been installed. So, that was a pleasant surprise. To sum up, My pre-construction contact with Sunlight was prompt, friendly and clear. They answered all my questions with clear concise answers and were able to schedule a visit quickly. When Allen came to do the work, he arrived just when he said he would, did expert professional work, fixed the problem and was friendly and fun to talk to. Ira the owner operator was very easy to talk with and time was a bit important as my great tenant was getting warm once June came along. The AC is just fine but this house needed just what Sunlight Contractors provided, some good quality foam insulation in the attic. I did some looking around online and am happy I went with this company.

I cannot tell you what an awesome job they did for me. I bought an old shot gun house in New Orleans. It was new remodeled but not summer was approaching the i realized not so well remodeled. The air conditioning was never stopping. I reached out to Sunlight Contractors. From the beginning they treated me like I was #1. They also treated my pet like he was important. they actually looked after him one day. When they said they will call, they called. when they say they will be there, they will be there. Ok, that is nice but how was the work. OMG!! Amazing. The work looks so great. They insulated under my house and the attic. The job they did changed the entire temperature of my house. Today New Orleans reached record temperatures but my house was perfect and the AC was not even running. I can't wait to see how low my next electric bill will be. I hired Sunlight Contractors a year and a half ago to install spray foam in my attic, and they did such a good job that I hired them again to install spray foam in the attic of a rental property this week. Ira is professional and responsive, and I had the pleasure of speaking with him in person at the job site. This company is all about customer satisfaction, and I really appreciate that. The crew was polite, professional, on-time, and didn't try to rush through the job. They took their time to do the job correctly, and my tenants have already seen great results. I would hire Sunlight again in a heartbeat.

Our 80 year old home was in significant need of insulation to keep a reasonable temperature in the winter and summer months. I called Sunlight Contractors, and they were able to meet with us very quickly to take a look at the house and offer advise. Later that day, I received a quote (which was very reasonable!) and LOTS of information about spray foam insulation and its benefits. He answered all of my questions and explained the entire process. When he arrived at the job site, he went over the process once again. As a customer of sunlight contractors I’ve been working with them for a year to prepare for insulating my new home. I must say that my husband and I are very impressed with the job they did. Their knowledge of the materials and their professionalism while working with us during this time goes above and beyond. We absolutely feel it will be worth every penny spent to conserve energy in our home and keep our indoor air cool in the summer and warm in the winter!! Sunlight sprayed the subfloor of my c. 1890 raised house with closed-cell foam. The house is noticeably more comfortable and somewhat quieter now, with less creaking from the wood floors. I feel fewer drafts, and the house is holding a temperature better. We had this done after the sub-freezing weather in January, so it's hard to know how it will handle extreme temps, but the recent cool snaps have had lows in the 40's -- more typical for a New Orleans winter -- and the house was definitely more comfortable, especially overnight when we used to lose a lot of heat from cold air intrusion through the floors. Based on my experience, I would definitely spray-foam the attic also, but that would make the house so sealed and efficient that I'd need to replace my central a/c with smaller units, and I'm not ready to do that just yet. Owners Ira and Corey were both present for the work, which I appreciated on a relatively small job. There were a few spots where the insulation was missing when we did the walk-through -- this old house has a hodgepodge foundation with a lot of nooks and crannies -- and they went back under and sprayed those spots to my satisfaction. Their prices were competitive and they worked quickly. If I ever do the attic, I'll hire them again.
