I am pursuing purchasing a home in New Orleans, LA. The home has closed cell spray foam insulation that the inspector insisted that open cell is the proper application. Ira with Sunlight Contractors has been a depth of knowledge that has helped me make informed decisions about how to proceed with the purchase of this home considering this foam issue. From the definition to R-Value, to differences of the foams, to details of the code-Ira has been very helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to speak with. Here's a case where this customer EW was reading so much information he didn't know what was right or wrong concerning insulation. There are 146 insulation contractors within the greater New Orleans area alone all giving different advice. The homeowner talked with so called contractors who lied to him. Our advice is to do your due diligence and by no means jump into any contract with any contractor before you check the BBB, Google reviews, YP.com Reviews, Go to the company's facebook page, never take advice from Contractors who don't specialize in the specific trade you are seeking. Make sure the contractor is certified by the (LSLBC) as an Insulation contractor in their certifications. Make sure the company you decide on, addresses your ventilation, moisture concerns and is a licensed or certified contractor performing the most current and updated door blower testing and written ASHREA 6.2 (ACH) reports to prove that your job was done properly.

We had spray foam insulation applied in our attic and crawl spaces, and we are so happy! The master bedroom is noticeably cooler, and we're excited to see our next power bill. The Sunlight team is fantastic. They are always on time, they have great communication, and they are happy to answer every question and explain all the work being done. Clayton, our point person through much of the project is a great guy!! The spray foam team led by Corey, was quick and tidy. And Mr. Ira Bosh is a tireless captain of the Sunlight ship. He is not happy until you are. If you're thinking about a spray foam insulation project, don't skimp on cost. You will get what you pay for with Sunlight, and you can rest comfortably knowing your project consists of American made, quality open cell foam. You'll be happy with Sunlight!

I can't believe how great everything went. The work was done with minimal interference with are regular routine. The employees were very courteous and concerned about our comfort.
Description of Work: I have had a moisture and mold problem for many years. I just didn’t know how to fix my swelling floors in my tight crawl space. I was searching the internet and came across Sunlight Contractors and decided to call them. After speaking with Ira Bosh I had Sunlight come out and inspect my crawl space. Clayton from Sunlight Suited up with a protective suit, hood, mask, gloves and did a thorough inspection. I was so impressed that after Clayton from Sunlight did the inspection I spoke with Ira Bosh and hired Sunlight Contractors who began work within a week. The first step they did was use foggers with a certified Mold killer on my entire 1800 square foot crawl space. Then 2 days later after the mold was dead and the sub floor scrubbed and disinfected they laid out heavy gauge plastic over my entire sub floor that created a vapor barrier and brought in the heavy air movers with ducting and indirect heaters to bring the moisture levels down from 32% to 17%. During this processes they spray painted a special formulated paint from Sherwin Williams to drive the rest of the moisture through my wooden floors. They came every day for 2 – weeks moving the air blowers and putting fuel every day into the indirect heaters. I nor anyone I know get into such a tight crawl space. It’s amazing. Sunlight was very punctual and worked very hard each day. We had rotted wooden beams under the crawl space that sunlight repaired also. After all this was done their spray foam crew came in and sprayed closed cell foam over every wood beam and all the floors. They covered everything with hard foam 2” in depth. They cleaned up after themselves every day and did a marvelous job. They were so respectful they were like family. I can tell a huge difference in my home now that they are finished. There is no musty mold smell, The floors feel solid like a slab home, my a/c works half the time and my air quality in the house is so much better. No more mold spores being drawn into my home from the crawl space anymore. If I could I would ring everyone’s bell in my neighborhood and tell them how to fix their crawl space now. Sunlight Thank you a thousand times.

We remediated and disinfected all the mold on the sub floor that was being drawn up into the house through air flow. Then we sealed 1800 sq feet with 2LB Closed Cell Spray Foam. We guarantee our work and now that the mold is gone and the sub floor is completely sealed you will have a lifetime of comfort in your home. Thanks again for your comments.

It's in process. This is a two-step job.
Description of Work: After a slightly agonizing process of acquiring a set of four estimates for our attic spray foam insulation project, I wisely chose Sunlight Contractors to do the job and I could not be happier at this point! I am a first time home owner of a mid-century modern home with cathedral ceilings and strange, tight attic spaces. The Sunlight team has done an excellent job of settling my fears about the project and educating me about spray foam insulation in general! Mr. Bosch has been patient with my 20 million questions, and Clayton has been kind, friendly, and efficient during the insulation prep work, which consists of removing the old batt insulation and preparing the attic with a solution of borate. Clayton has his process down to a science, and I almost wouldn't have known there was any work done in my attic space. Sunlight has also been responsive to emails and questions, and they have been on time and ready to roll when arriving. I actually said to my boyfriend this morning that I was excited about the insulation project! Sunlight has made these words possible. Thanks guys :)

The ad gave me all the information I needed to assure me I had selected a top notch contractor. My estimate was done and received in a very timely manner. I was impressed with the time and detail assessing under my raised house. The staff, Corey and Clayton were very professional, to the point of ensuring our dogs didn't get out of my yard. I called a couple of numbers from the Internet search to get an estimate on foam insulation for the attic of my home in Saint Rose, LA. I left a message for one and I got an answer from Sunlight Contractors, YES! I talked to a human! Mr. Ira Bosh who was very knowledgeable of every step of the process and informed me of all his company's licenses and certifications; but what surprised me the most, he was able to schedule "next day" free esimate. The person that came out was on time, and very professional. Mr. Ira answered all my questions and kept me informed. Could not ask for better communication.

This was a big decision and I feel that I made the right choice.
Description of Work: This is a pre-review of attic spray foam insulation. I wanted to get insulation installed before summer arrived. My house just can’t cool off, and my air conditioner breaks once and even twice every summer. I have old blown in insulation. First, I went to Lowes to inquire about installing batt insulation. They don't do that kind of job. So, I went online find other types of insulation. I read about spray foam and felt this was the best way to go. Then I researched contractors. Sunlight Contractors came up on my search and I read about the process and the reviews. All of his reviews were 5 stars. I looked no further. I left my contact information that night and early the next morning Mr. Ira called me. He explained so much to me and e-mailed me lots of information. He called me several times to ask if I had any questions. He made me feel comfortable about my decision. Workers came out quickly and removed the old insulation. Mr. Ira kept in touch with me often. This made me feel comfortable with my decision. Now I'm looking forward to seeing lower electric bills and enjoying a comfortable home. I'll let you all know what happens.

This was a huge job. In addition to the spray foam we had Removal of 1,830 sq. feet of old attic insulation, including a roll off dumpster. After removal of the bug ridden old insulation we installed 3,085 sq. ft.on the underside of the roof sheathing. of Gaco Western Firestop 2 open cell spray foam at an average thickness of 5.5"-6" in attic roof, out to the studs in the walls covering the rafters. We covered the rafters, top plates, eaves and soffits with R-22.5-R-24.5 which is an air sealed barrier. We created an unvented completely conditioned attic system. Before we started the job we performed a door blower test in. On completion a door blower test out with an ASHREA 62.2 (ACH) test. Just the removal of the old insulation and the dumpster was a lot of money to start with. All prep work and clean up was included. This job came out fantastic. Thank you for your business,

I wish getting things done was this easy with every contractor. It was a big decision and I feel like we made the right choice going with Ira at Sunlight. My house feels the way it should now and my AC actually cycles. The crew was helpful, polite, and you couldn't tell they were here after the job was done. The product warranty and contract were legit, while other companies seemed shady. I can't wait to see my energy bill this August. I recommend going with Sunlight if you want it done right the first time.

After 7 months of comparing different companies quotes we are so thrilled that you decided to hire Sunlight Contractors. As you can see we try so hard to give every single one of our customers 100 %+ customer satisfaction. Your air conditioning /HVAC system will last years longer now that it doesn't have to struggle keeping up with hot temperatures in the summer and cold temperatures in the winter. Your comfort level in your home will be unsurpassed due tor having the trust & confidence with us.. . PS: Every homeowner should get this report in writing by a certified licensed contractor by the LSLBC and [Removed Hyperlink] (Gold Star Contractor). Here's the report after the job is completed.... According to ASHREA standards, residential dwellings must have a minimum of 0.35 air changes per hour. This means approximately every 3 hours your home should have a complete new set of outside fresh air. This is important for many reasons to include breathing air, combustion air, diluting indoor pollutants like cleaning solutions. As well as moisture build up concerns. To calculate whether or not a house fits this minimum ventilation requirement we must perform a door blower test to see exactly how much the house is "leaking" to the outside. Once we have this number we must calculate the volume of the house to determine exactly how many cubic feet of air the house contains. This number divided by how much the house "leaks" will tell us how often the air is being changed over. Currently in your home, which is approximately 17,823 cubic feet of air, the air is ventilating at a rate of 0.34 air changes per hour with a test out door blower number of 1,975 cfm50. Which is about as good as it gets. Especially coming from 0.78 air changes per hour, at a test in of 4565 cfm50. We say do your due diligence If you hire a company that's not a certified Bpi.org Gold Star contractor and don't understand your building envelope they can make it a moisture trap or a ventilation nightmare. We can't reiterate how important it is to do your due diligence and know everything about the contractor spray foaming or insulating your home.

I feel compelled to write this about a home improvement product that actually saves me a fortune on my energy bills. Sunlight Contractors is a very professional company to work with. The crew was on time and cleaned up very well after they were finished. I had attic and subfloor insulation installed. I've had my spray foam for close to three years now. The difference I see in my energy bill is unbelievable. Last year during the summer months, prior to the install, my bill was right around $250 dollars. This year I did not pay over $140 in the hottest part of the summer. My air condition runs so much less because my home holds the cool air. And during the winter, my home stays warm, and my floors aren't ice cold. The comfort in my home is a difference between night and day. I would highly recommend this company!

Spray foam insulation is a very serious project when you are deciding if a contractor is certified and licensed. Just check with the LSLBC and find out if the company you are considering are licensed residential or building contractors. The person giving you advice too often is a liar and doesn't have the licensing to back up their advise. That's when homeowners make all the wrong mistakes. Google search Gold Star Contractors in your area. Or Google search "Master Spray Foam Installers" in your area. Go to the LSLBC website designed to help homeowners. Find out what type of license your contractor has. Don't let a company with a Home Improvement Contractor registration give you advice. There is absolutely no testing involved and my 21 year old son who is straight out of college with no contracting experience can get the license very easily. Please do your due diligence.

I initially contacted Sunlight because they are the highest rated insulation company on Angies List. After speaking with Ira, I knew I was dealing with a company that cared. Ira not only took the time to talk to me about the process, but also encouraged me to speak with other companies to compare quotes and products. Any company that wants you to speak with competitors is clearly confident that they have the right product and staff. Thanks Ira!

Potential customers want knowledge in order for them to make the right decision, not high pressure sales tactics. Homeowners don't want the slightest chance of their spray foam project turning into a horror story like so many others. I contracted Sunlight to install open-cell spray foam in my attic to control air leaks and extend the climate envelope of my house up to my attic, since my air handler and ducts are up there. Ira from the office stayed in contact with me the morning of my insulation install and gave me a heads up when the crew was arriving. Everyone was super friendly and professional, and they let me watch and ask questions while they performed the pre-install blower test. I left so the crew could start the install, and Ira contacted me less than three hours later to let me know they were done. My house is on the smaller side, but still, for setup, work, and cleanup, that's faster than I expected. Ira followed up with a phone call later in the day to check in and ask if I'd already noticed a difference in how often my AC turned on (unfortunately, I'd spent the afternoon running around and hadn't paid attention – but see below for something great that I later noticed). From the office to the work crew, you can tell these guys are really into what they do. As a single woman, I'm always a bit wary when it comes to letting people into my home, but I felt comfortable with Sunlight during the entire process. And as far as noticing a difference (when I'm paying attention)? Yes! Yesterday, the high was in the upper 70s, so I had the AC on. Last night dipped into the 50s, but I forgot to switch to heat. When this has happened previous to the spray foam install, I'd wake up to a house in the low 60s. This morning? A comfortable 70 degrees. I knew my house used to be pretty leaky, but the before and after blower tests – and what happened last night and this morning – really proved it. I'm so glad I finally got my attic sealed, and I'm very excited to see what happens this summer with the AC.

After years of considering spray foam insulation for my attic, I finally decided to seriously investigate before the next summer strikes. Sunlight was in the list of Google search results, and it caught my attention due to the high ratings and positive reviews. Sunlight's friendly, informative website also impressed me. I filled out the online form to request an estimate, and Ira called to discuss my plans and set up an appointment. He was professional and seemed genuinely interested in helping me make informed choices. The estimate, which took less than fifteen minutes, was conducted by Corey, who was patient and professional as I peppered him with questions. Both Ira and Corey increased my confidence in the decision to get spray insulation and work with Sunlight to make it happen.

Homeowners MUST know which company spray foams their home. There are so many contractors that say they are certified by only the manufacturing company giving them a quiz who they buy materials from... HA HA!!! Some people say they are teachers of spraying foam. The only certification that stands the test of time in our industry is from the" Spay Polyurethane Foam Alliance", SPRAYFOAM.org .Look up the contractor you are considering. Enter their name and on the left side click "VIEW"... Horror stories are RAMPANT in our industry because the homeowner is tricked with a lower price from a "Chuck- in -A -Truck" so called contractor who can ruin your home. This industry must get regulated by the State Legislature ASAP. In the meantime when someone says to you "you don't need a state license to spray foam" then google search "Spray Foam Horror Stories" and see why you have been SUCKER PUNCHED".. This is not meant to scare you only to inform you. The worst thing any homeowner doesn't want is a major home improvement that just doesn't work. We have seen hundreds of jobs gone wrong. The homeowner has responsibility to research the transparency of the Contractor they chose. If not "Caveat Emptor" Buyer Beware. So many companies don't want to ask for reviews because they do a poor job...Sunlight asks everyone for reviews. Many customers don't want to be bothered with writing reviews but the ones that do we are thankful for. Sunlight Contractors always strives to give our potential customers as much information they need to make an informed decision.
