Accardos Appliance Parts & Service

I was told on the phone the day prior to the service day that someone could come out the next day. The cost to come out to look at my dryer would be a minimum of $65 which was 2 hours of work and would go toward the labor to repair my dryer. I was suppose to get a call 30 minutes before coming out. I got a call when the worknam was turning on to my street. I told him I was 30 minutes away. He said he could wait. I madt it back in 20 minutes. It took him about 15 minutes, so in all he was there no more than 45 minutes. He told me the it was a fuse and that the "fuse kit" was $45 and the total was $152.60. I questioned the total and stated what I was told about the labor. He then changed the amount of labor form $95 to $65. Because of this situation with the bill I became suspicious. I paid the bill though. I then wrote down the brand (Roper) and model (REX5634KQ0) and pulled up the parts online. (you could do the same). Three places I found were all less than $10. These were appliance repair copanies not ebay or off the wall parts places. I the called the comany to give them a chance to explain. The man on the phone said he would check in to it and call me back. He called back and tried to say that the $65 was not toward labor. (other Angie's write-ups say the service call charge go towards labor also) He also said he called the Worlpool (Roper) and that the price of the fuse was $45. This is a terrible company. Over charging and telling lies to cover there deceit.

They were listed as one of the top one's on Angie's List. We have used them before. I think they were very honest. The biggest problem was that I called them and they said they would come out. They called and I was still at work. They said they would be at my house next. It came to be 5:30 P.M. and I said to just forget it. They called me the next day and couldn't come out. They finally came out and they tried to fix it, but it didn't work. They had to find another part. It ended up being three trips. It was a major inconvenience. I would probably use them again. UPDATE 10.20.12: I was happy. They are professional. I've used them before, but it took them a long time to come out. Since they've fixed it, they've had to fix it a few more times. I've spent close to $800. I would have been better off just buying a new machine. They weren't very prepared when they arrived-not having parts. He had to leave and come back. The ice machine still makes noises. I don't know that I would call them again.

We called Accardos and scheduled a service call. The repairman canceled once then came out as planned the second time. He inspected and cleaned the burners with a tooth brush to unplug some of the jets then said our burners needed replacing, which would cost approx. $300. Then he looked at the dryer and showed us a belt that needed replacing and quoted $110. We paid $70 for the service call and he said if we wanted the repairs to call and schedule them. He said the $70 would be deducted from the cost of the repairs. The next day I called to say that I wanted to hold off on replacing the burners, but I wanted to go ahead and replace the belt on the dryer. The person I spoke with said he would tell the technition and someone would call us back After a week, I called again and got the same response. After another week, I called again and got the same response. When I asked what phone number he had for me, he had to admit that he did not have my phone number and on further questioning learned that not only did he not have my phone number, but he did not have my job number or anything thing else. I finally gave up as it was clear that they were not interested in doing the repair. In essence, I wasted $70 and 3 weeks for Accardos to tell me what my problem was, but I have to start all over with some one new to actually get the repairs. Technically I guess, he did clean my burners, but that wasn't worth $70. Terrible company!

They are excellent. I give them an "A" overall, and I would use them again if needed.

They took care of the problem and they came out a few times to satsify our tenants concerns. I will use them again and I will recommend them again.

We had a broken oven - we turned on the oven and smelled gas. Since Easter was coming, we really needed it repaired quickly.After reviewing Angie's list, I called Accardo's. They were able to come out the next day. The technician was prompt and courteous. He had the part with him and repaired it quickly, checked to be sure it was working correctly. I felt the price was appropriate. The total included his service call.

He was professional and knew what he was talking about. He was looking out for the customer instead of seeing how much more he could tack on. The price was fine; it was very reasonable and acceptable.

Tech Greg was excellent, if every company had workers like this you would not need Angies list. I was later getting to the house then I told him and he was politely waiting there for me. It took him less time to diagnose and fix my fridge then to wait on me. Excellent service I will call Accardo's from now on.

Overall experience is an A. They had postive ratings.

I feel like I got more than my money worth. They did a good job. They showed us how to prevent the problem again. They cleaned up after themselves and they even put down a pad so they didn't create a mess.

These are the only guys I will call for future appliance repairs.

The technician was excellent, asked about my model beforehand and knew that it was slightly different than the other models so that he could bring the proper with him for the repair. After the repair was complete, he offered some advice on that type of refrigerator and what to expect in the future. I would definitely use them again.

Overall it was a good experience, except for the fact that the technician was more than an hour late. But, once he did arrive he quickly diagnosed the problem, explaining what he was looking for. He worked quickly and resolved the problem. The price was reasonable. I'd definitely use Accardo's again, and hope next time they're on time.

On Monday 20 June 2011, I scheduled an appointment with Accardo's for a home dishwasher repair. I set up an app't for 22 June 2011, for 0800-0830. At 0900, I called the company office, and the phone was answered by a woman who said " I just got here, let me check out the delay, and I'll call you back". At 1000, having still received no phone call or explanation of the delay, I left the house to run errands. At 1230-ish, the prospective repairman called and said he was on the way, offering no explanation as to why he wasn't at my home for the prescribed time. I told him I got tired of waiting and left the house, to which he replied "sorry", and hung up. So much for the "perfect" Angie's list score, eh??

Our washing machine decided to fill the room with smoke and a "burnt" smell. After taking out the clothes and bailing the water, I checked 'the list' and found Accardos (note: there are 2 Accardoes. The same family, but this one only does appliances, not plumbing). I actually talked to a real person and got an appointment for the next day; plus, the person showed up early, was friendly, described what he was doing (!), and overall, was great. I think 'great' is perhaps too tame - I was amazed and would trust them with anything in the future.

We called Accardo's as we'd heard good things about them both from Angie's List and friends. They came out the same day, within hours. The problem was diagnosed quickly and repaired just as fast.

I had tenants, who were friends, and told me all appliances were in working condition when they moved out. After getting the house cleaned, painted and rented, I found out neither the over-the-range microwave nor refrigerator were working properly. After reading the reviews on Angie’s list, I decided to call Accardo’s, instead of the repair service that the dealer recommended. Juanita is terrific – she helped me by getting Neal out quickly since I was returning to Austin later in the week and needed to get everything fixed or replaced for the new tenants before I left. Neal was super. He is very professional and so knowledgeable. Since I had seen the tear in the gasket, Juanita had already ordered and gotten the part, so Neal was able to replace it when he came. He also explained the reason why the door seal had torn – for my model (Frigidaire), if sticky stuff (soda, juice, etc.) is spilled and not wiped off, then, when the door is closed and opened multiple times, it tears the gasket. He explained his trouble shooting approach to determine why neither water nor ice was dispensed through the door of the refrigerator. He also recommended, because of the overall labor and parts cost, it would be better to get a new microwave, since the circuit board was broken. Accardo’s does not sell appliances and they believe in giving you the information so that the customer can make an informed decision. Neal was very helpful in educating me about availability/unavailability of parts for certain brands. Accardo's has a customer for life!

My refrigerator was not cooling properly even though the freezer was working OK. Several home appliance blogs had articles that said this was a common problem. I called Accardo's Appliance Parts and Service at 11am. The technician arrived before noon. The job was completed in less than 2 hours. I am highly pleased with Accardo's and would recommend them.

I am thrilled to have this repair completed and my experience with Accardo's was exceptional. I don't hesitate to recommend them to others.

Excellent. Came at time requested, worked quickly and efficiently.

He showed up on time and noticed what type of detergent we were using and diagnosed the problem immediately, but the part had to be ordered and would take from one to seven days. He returned five days later and replaced the part, so everything is back to normal

Two different dishwashers stopped working. Accardos came out quickly. Called me to discuss their findings before proceeding. In both cases the repairs would have been relatively costly and I decided to replace the units. Accardos was honest in the diagnosis and discussion so that I could make the decision to replace. They did not attempt to sell me something I did not need...

Neal came very promptly after his call to let us know he was coming, told me what was wrong and how to fix it again (ice dispenser motor axle(?) freezes up, that the patches that the mfr have come up with don't work, but to warm it up with a hairdryer, and it will be fine again...). He explained to me how the igniter works in the gas oven and showed me the difference between the old igniter glow (dull orange) and the new (bright yellowy-orange). I picked Accardo's b/c of their ratings on Angie's List and I can see why they had As for their rating!

Very helpful--I was out of town and they took my info over the phone and fixed the fridge right away.

They discovered the problem rapidly and then repaired it instantly.
