The gas oven was fixed, This is the third time over several years I have used Accardos, Nick is very efficient. The new ignitor failed after a couple of weeks, this is the first time Nick had experienced that issue. He came back and replaced no charge.

Very prompt and professional. This old dishwasher now had a new life.

I was happy with them. Its working fine. He was very knowledgeable and polite courteous.
Description of Work: They came by and cleaned something on my refrigerator. The refrigerator wasn't cooling properly and so he came out and ran some tests on it and he didn't really repair anything, there was some build up dog hair or something caught up in the filter and was preventing the refrigerator from getting enough air properly.

I called because my washer wasn't working right. The technician came out quickly and diagnosed the problem, and the price was reasonable. He said he needed to order the part and left. I didn't hear anything back until the next day, when they called and said it would be 3 to 5 days before the part came in, at which time they would be calling to come out. The part was ordered on a Tuesday; the following Monday I called to check on it and was told it wasn't in yet. The very next day they called and said it was in -- 7 days later. The man in the office actually argued with me, saying it took exactly 5 days for the part to come in. The only way that could be true is if they didn't order it when they said they did. So he calls and tells me the part is in and that they are going to come out Friday, which was THREE DAYS later. There was already a delay from waiting on the part to come in, and now another delay waiting for them to come out. They gave the impression that when the part was in, they would be coming out right away. Very frustrating. I tell him that I'm going to text my husband and let him know, because on that particular day we would have to coordinate schedules and change plans and move things around and figure out who could take off work. I ended up being the one to take off work that Friday for the repair, got someone set up to pick up both kids at 2 different places. It took some time, but I got things coordinated so that everyone was taken care of. Called Accardo's back the next day to set everything up, and he tells me that he is now booked for Friday and that his technician is on vacation for a week after that, and he cannot come out to fix the washer until Monday after next, which would have been THIRTEEN days later, and THREE WEEKS from the date that the part was (supposedly) ordered! I'm sorry but that's unacceptable. You cannot make your clients wait weeks on end for repairs. Hire another technician; ask your one technician to wait to take vacation - I don't know, something. I was just absolutely shocked at how long it was taking. And the worst part about it is that there is no sympathy whatsoever - the attitude from the guy in the office is like, "that's that; take it or leave it". They do not care at all. I cancelled the service call and called A1 appliance this past Friday. They have the part in stock and don't have to order it, AND it's cheaper than Accardo's price. Today is Monday and the technician is on his way out to fix my washer right now. Three years ago I called Accardo's (after looking on Angie's List) when my refrigerator went out. The technician came out within the hour and helped me take everything out of the fridge, and fixed it in no time at all. From the time I called them to the time my fridge was fixed was probably under 2 hours. This is why I called them to fix my washer. I'm completely disappointed.

In late November, the technician came and told me a rodent had chewed wires and they would have to order new ones...after weeks of checking in about the status of the new wires, I contacted the manufacturer Jenn Air who confirmed that the appliance's electrical board could not be fixed. The model was no longer being produced and parts were no longer available. The manufacturer said Accardo's probably did not want to admit that the appliance could not be fixed. I find the entire situation dishonest, cynical and infuriating. I have been without a working oven since March 2013. I finally contacted the business owner who said - surprise the part(s) to finally repair my range are in. Sadly, however, to add insult to injury, he told me he had no record(s) of my job. After sending over a copy of the initial work order, he has offered to refund me the cost of the part that was originally installed - however they would have to recover the board installation part that is installed on my machine.I have been without a working oven since March 2013. I have spent hours calling, checking in about scheduling, parts, status, etc. The endless phone calls and waiting is beyond comprehension. If I had not called the last time - I would still be waiting for the supposed new wires. The matter is now in the hands of the Better Business Bureau. The owner is in denial about the way this was handled and claims the range was and quot;destroyed by my rodentsand quot;....which is a LIE! They never fixed the electrical board.
Description of Work: In early March 2013, a power surge by Entergy shorted the electrical board in my Jenn Air range. I paid Accardo's $532.02 for assessment and parts. After the initial "repair" - the appliance still would not work - the oven would not heat beyond 100 degrees. Over several months, I would call about the status of ordered parts and inquire about status. The technician came back several times but each time there was yet another issue. At one point, it was a missing wire or missing diagrams. Weeks would go by without contact. I would call every few days for an update to no avail.

Work was done in a timely and professional manner. This was not the first appliance repair experience with Accardo's. Will definitely call again if needed and would recommend to others without hesitation.
Description of Work: Sheet of ice had formed in bottom of freezer blocking the drain. Allowed the ice to melt and checked all parts to insure they were in proper working order. Explained that this was a common occurrence giving reasons why and offered suggestions as to how to handle in the future.

They were supposed to repair my dishwasher. The repair man said that he needed different tools and would come back the following week. I organized an appointment. They didn't show. I called again was told they had tried to call me and cancel. There was no record of any call. I organized another appointment. again they didn't show.

I called twice. First time I left a message but never got a call back. But I had heard good things about this company so I called back. Spoke with someone who said the technician would be out the next day between 8am and 1pm. He apologized for not giving me a closer time but said sometimes jobs run over and did not want to disappoint anyone. Since I live and work at home this was not a problem for me. I made sure I was ready at 8am. I was in all morning. At 2:30p I finally called to ask what had happened. The man who answered said the technician had come by but I was not home. This was in no way true. They had my phone number and address and I never left my condo all morning. But whomever I was speaking to sounded dubious. He did say he would and quot;get to the bottom of this.and quot; Then he finally told me they were no longer at the address listed on Angies List. I had told him initially I was using him in part because he is in the neighborhood but he did not tell me until pressed that they had moved some time ago. I have never heard from this company again. I suspect he never even spoke with the technician. I was ready to give them the benefit of the doubt because I had been told this was a good company but I have not heard from them at all so I will look for help elsewhere.

Technician arrived within specified timeframe and performed work in friendly professional manner. He showed the damaged part and replaced it. It only took about 15 minutes to complete the repair. We were very happy with the service and would use Accordo's again.

I was trying to get my fridge/freezer fixed before hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house. After the technician came out about two weeks before the holiday, he said it would take 3-5 days to get the part and then he'd be back to replace it. I called 3 days later, and they said they had received the wrong part and would need to reorder. I called yet again 3 days later and then twice more, the last time being 2 days before Thanksgiving. Each time they were non-committal about coming out. After Thanksgiving, I gave up on this company.
Description of Work: The provider dispatched a technician to investigate my fridge/freezer appliance that was not cooling properly. They determined a sensor was needed and that they would have to order it. They promised to be in touch once it arrived to schedule a time to replace the sensor. Despite repeated phone calls to line up the appointment, all I received were excuses and poor service, and they never actually came out to do the work.

I read all the good reviews and dismissed the few bad ones. When I called I got a prompt response and was told that the part would be ordered and they'd call early the next week for an appointment. When I received no call in a week I called back only to be told they didn't know what had happened with the order but they'd check and call me back. After another week I called again and they at least did know that the part had been ordered. They said they'd call me - never did. After another 10 days or so I called and they said, and quot;Oh yes your part is in. Do you want to set up an appointment?and quot; I definitely did not. Any company that shows no more courtesy than to never return my calls is not going to get my money.
Description of Work: A prompt appointment was made for an estimate. That was followed through in a timely manner. My credit card number was taken.

I accidentally washed and dried an adult diaper in a load of clothes. I needed the dryer examined to make sure there was no material/fluff in the machine. Luckily there wasn't any. The serviceman was on time, worked efficiently, and was pleasant. I will continue to use Accardo's as my first choice for appliance repairs.

I have never known a more honest, funny, and helpful service professional. My father started using Accardo's in the '70's, and my husband and I are continuing the family tradition. The business was recently sold to the service man, who had worked for the old couple for a long time, and obviously enjoyed the work.
Description of Work: Our dishwasher had been making some horrible noise when washing, and we called Accardo's to come evaluate the problem. He told us that our water pump was going out, and that it might last another 6 months or more, or it could give in and quit working the next day. He said that we COULD replace the water pump, for almost as much as it would cost to replace the dishwasher, or we could just wait until it quit and buy a new dishwasher.

When the washing machine first stopped working, we called to have a technician come out for an estimate. He was supposed to show up during the day, but didn't arrive until nearly 7:00 p.m. His estimate was quick and reasonable though. It took several days for the part to arrive and for the technician to come back to install it. The repair was made, but the technician left very quickly without testing it. The repair did not work. It took another few days for someone to come back and take another look at it. It was determined that a new part had to be ordered and installed, which took another week. The new repair did not work. A final, most senior technician was called out, he spent a lot of time on the phone with the manufacturer and really took his time with the washing machine. It was finally determined that the machine simply could not be repaired due to a manufacturer flaw. The manager of Accardo's refunded the money I spent on the parts that did not fix the problem. Since the problem was due to the manufacturer and not Accardo's inability to repair it, I don't blame Accardo's for the service. You can't fix bad luck. In the end they did right by me by refunding my money for parts and some of the labor time. They were professional, but time managment was a problem since the whole ordeal was nearly a month in the making. I would give them one more chance should I need appliance repair work in the future. However, if their time management and punctuality were not spot on, I would not give them a third call.

Called Accardo's for the first time, based on favorable reviews on Angies list. They negotiated an appt, first thing in the morning, promised that the technician would call when he was en route. On the day of the appointment, received a polite call from Neal the tech, who arrived as promised and diagnosed the problem with our dryer in less than 30 sec's. Opened the dryer up, confirmed the faulty part, gave us an estimate for parts and labor. We OK'd the repair which was accomplished in about 30 minutes. Told us there was a one year warranty on his repair. Polite, professional, and fast. The only way this could have been better is if it was free! Excellent experience, recommend Accardo without reservation.

Accardo's Appliance was a family owned business since 1957. The original owners Mr. Peter and Mrs. Juanita Accardo retired two years ago and one of their service men has taken over the business. The Accardo's are honest, hard working folks that ran their business with integrity and knew their customers by their first names. I am sorry to see them go. The Accardo's have repaired every appliance in my home to my complete satisfaction and when something was not worth repairing they would tell me to put my money into a new appliance. Their prices were always reasonable, especially compared to some companies in my area and their service without question was second to none. I hope the new owner keeps up the great work. With regards to the service, the serviceman would always explain what he was doing/checking and why. He would show me the old parts being replaced as well as the new parts he was installing and explained why they were being replaced. I always received an itemized bill. No complaints ever with this company.
Description of Work: My refrigerator was not cooling and I even contemplated buying a new one at the price of $2,500. Accardo's Appliance repaired the problem in one visit for $150 and it is still running like new!

I called and made an appointment to have my stove looked at - three of the burners weren't lighting. I specifically made the appointment for noon or later because I was in Baton Rouge that morning. Someone called at 10am to say they were on the way. I informed them that I would not be there, and that the appointment was not until noon. He said he would call back. He never did. I called the number on my cell and left a message. I also left a message at the business number. No one ever returned my call. Very unprofessional, and a waste of a Friday afternoon waiting for someone who didn't show up. In the end, I'm glad they didn't come. I did some troubleshooting on the internet and fixed the problem myself. But I definitely won't call these guys with any other problems in the future.

I called Mondy morning and got n the list for service on Tuesday morning. The service tech came about noon and within 30 minutes had the washer fixed without parts. He also showed me 2 inexpensive tub damping straps that I could pick up and replace. The parts cost me $8.00 each and took about 15 minutes to replace. I'm sure that saved me probably another $70.00 if he would have had to go get the part and return to replace. I'll definitely keep them in mind for all appliance repair needs in the future.

Friendly, efficient and professional.
Description of Work: Great job on my GE under counter ice machine. Returned call left on answering machine first thing on a Monday morning and was on site by 10:30am. Diagnosed pump issue and showed me exactly why and what was not working. Made appointment for next morning. Called shortly after 8am to let me know he was five minutes away and had it up and fixed within 45 minutes. Technician was Mike who was very professional and courteous. Call Sears to fix machine - wouldn't work on it but said a valve was problem. I replaced valve didn't help. Called Accardo's - sent Mike out same day told us it was a pump that really needed replacing. I ordewred on Internet and Mike replaced it a few days later. Worked perfectly for about a week until we evacuated for Isaac. Mike came back out and plugged it in better for no charge - working perfectly now.
Description of Work: Fixed my GE Monogram under counter ice machine - Sears guy couldn't do it. Will call Mike again in future - have recommended him to friends.
