National Air

Josh, the service tech, was very informative and very nice. He answered all my questions completely. This is the second time I have used National Air for my annual inspection and cleaning. The service was scheduled on June 8th and it was completed at the time stated.

They are wonderful! They are very honest, dependable, and do a great job.

I purchased the A/C tune up deal. After the service technician looked at one of my units he said it was low on freon and it would be better to save the A/C tune up for a later date and change it to a service call because there may be a leak. A 75$ service call and freon charge, and a total of $344 later all was good with a recommendation to use my tune up in a few weeks to see if there was a leak. I schedule the tune up and the technician says I am completely out of freon and my coils are bad. Why was i not informed of that before being charged $344 to have freon if the coils were bad? The technician took down the information of my equipment and informed me someone would contact me for an estimate and he was sure they would give me some credit for the freon which I payed for but should not have been used if my coils were bad. Have called for days and it goes to an answering service who can only take messages. Received one voice mail stating all the phones are down at the office and that is the last I have heard. It is hot as **** in New Orleans right now and I do not have A/C and I am getting ready to transfer, National has wasted my time and my money.

When they finally got here, it turned out okay. It took them three times. We had weather issues. They only come to my area two days a week. It took some time. When they got here, the technician was very good. They cancelled three times before they were able to get out here. They were on time.

Called National Air to return to our home after semi-annual A/C inspection. The A/C unit wouldn't turn-on. Josh came at the set appointment right and ran a complete check of the A/C's electrical set-up inside and outside. After a thorough check of the A/C unit's power system, he determined the ISUF capacitor needed replacement. He didn't have the appropriate one on his truck, so, rather than just put a capacitor on that would only provide a short-term fix, he went to an electrical supply store, got the right capacitor for our A/C unit and installed it. Before leaving, he ran a series of tests to make sure our air conditioning was operating as it should. Very professional and efficient. We'll continue to use this top flight company for our heating and air conditioning needs.

It went good. I liked them and I used them again. They came out the same day. I had them do something for the same thing. They could explain more of what they were doing as they were doing it. I was asking what he was doing and why he was doing it, before he did something. If they had said what they were doing and why they were doing it, I would have felt more comfortable. He seemed knowledgeable, it just seemed that he had his plan on what he wanted to do, and he didn't show that he was taking my consideration into account.

They arrived at the same time to do both jobs. I wish they explained more of what they were trying to do before they started doing something. I asked them to clean the condenser unit, he cut a piece of sheet metal that was in place, and I felt that there could have been a way of doing it without cutting that. He cut it before saying that he would do it, and I would have felt more comfortable if he would have told me that he would do that.

They did goo work but charged me the regular rate per additional item that needed to get done. Especially since they were already there for the tune up.They should be more flexible with the prices when they are already there.

The local representatives and service people are nice, but their answering system is AWFUL. It's exceedingly hard to get the local office on the phone, and the service seems completely baffled by everything. I have had to deal with their answering service three or four times over the past two years, and they always seem incredulous that someone is calling to schedule an a/c maintenance. They make you repeat why you're calling several times, they insist on taking an extremely long and irrelevant list of information from you and just make doing business with National simply too difficult. I won't work with them ever again, which is too bad because they do a good job and have good prices, but they desperately need a new answering solution.

It did not turn out so hot. They were suppose to inspect and clean my machine. They inspected it fine but when he took the cover off the electronic area it was all dusty and took a picture and showed me. He said they did not teach them how to clean the dust off. I was going to give him my can of air but thought better of it. They did not do the work, they were suppose to clean. It was a new system. I would not recommend them to anyone. They were not trained.

The service was fine. They came out pretty quickly.

In addition to the inspection/tune-up I asked for a new thermostat to be installed when I called to make the appointment. Ismel spent at least an hour trying to replace the ancient thermostat but was unable to do so because of the jerry-rigged "fix" of the heater/blower. I had my checkbook ready to pay for the additional time but he didn't charge a penny, which I greatly appreciated. I will definitely call National Air again when needed and they will be the first company I contact for an estimate to replace the HVAC system.

We had a $600 electric bill one month last summer and our home was still hot, Several other A/C companies had been here and never solved the issue. We came to the conclusion ourselves that the ductwork should be replaced as it was almost 40 years old and had been pieced together through two additions. What could it hurt? Brian came out, as scheduled, surveyed the job, and gave us a quote. While he was here, he pointed out that the vents in some rooms were installed in the wrong direction. No one before had even bothered to glance at that! We scheduled the job, Brian and Randall arrived as scheduled, and did an awesome job. We were consistently informed of any expectations and all commitments were met as promised. They even uncovered a "hidden" filter that hadn't been changed since the system was installed 10 years ago. Again, no one before had ever noticed that. This is what we call extremely thorough!! $5500 isn't a small amount of money, but we consider it well spent. , We will be contacting National (Maria and Priscilla in the office are excellent too) for an annual maintenance agreement.

It went well. This is a two furnace home and I had them both done. They did a nice job. My furnace is working properly. This is the second time I've used National Air and I'm satisfied with them. I used them also to do the maintenance on my air conditioning. They provided that service too. It was $59 for each furnace.

After inspection, my valve actuator needed replacement. Nowadays, this is a fairly common event with the quality of units on the market now. My house is 10 years old and the unit is about 5. Things break but I highly advise anyone reading this review to have your AC inspected each spring and fall. One of many things my father taught me and the GE unit is over 25 years old and still cools as well as it did when it was new. I was very pleased with the service and intend to have a service agreement in place so I can avoid big bills later.

Other than the A/C tune up, we were able to install a shut off switch if the attic unit were to leak beyond the drip pan, preventing a roof leak.

Roy came out and seemed more knowledgeable and detail oriented than most other sellers. Price was higher than most, but Roy assured me he would take care of everything, and he told me they could could be finished in a couple weeks so I went with national air. I took off a star because it took them much longer to complete work, than I was told. But, overall, it was a good experience. Their installers are good, hard working guys.

The tech arrived on time and spent approximately 30 minutes here. I seriously doubt he was able to perform every task on the tune up in 30 minutes. He stated everything was functioning properly. I had some additional items that I needed done as a result of a home inspection on my heating and ac. The tech seemed bewildered by what I was asking to be done, even though I had a printed copy of the items that needed to be done. He stated that someone would contact me with an estimate for the additional items. That was 4 business days ago. I have not received any further communication from National Air. The tech seemed to be inexperienced and had poor communication skills. I would not use their services again, and I do not feel that the items on the tune up were actually done. I called another AC company to come and do the items that needed to be performed. They came, saw, and took care of everything in about 2 hours.

Brian discussed our problem with the company owner and they decided to treat the service as a warranty replacement since the previously installed capacitor failed after only 3 months of service. I admire Brian's honesty, sincere care for us as a customer and his professionalism. He has been doing this work for over 20 years and knows the HVAC equipment inside and out. I am so happy that we chose National Air for our service and I commend Brian and the company for its high-ethical standards and service. I wish to thank Brian for providing our family such excellent service and consideration.

As I said, he not only helped us get rid of a major problem, but saved us money this year and in years to come.

The man who came was very professional and took my husband all around the house, showing him the various parts and functions of our central A/C. He provided in-depth information as well as tips on how to maintain the unit and all the duct work and pipes around it. This was extremely helpful to us as first-time homeowners. We know have a better understanding of how to care for one of the most expensive parts of our house. The service was most appreciated!
