PROBLEM WAS.......Installers could not speak ENGLISH...had an underlying problem with one of the existing boards/trim around old window ( under old trimwork ) and walked outside just in time to see him trying to and quot;COVER IT UPand quot; instead of confronting me with the problem and trying to remove the old one and replace it... HAHA-- HE WAS JUST GOING TO COVER IT UP. I tried telling him to put a new board in - I had to call sales rep - OF COURSE, AFTER CONTRACT IS SIGNED - THEY SEEM TO NOT BE MUCH INTERESTED IN ANY SORT OF PROBLEM OR ISSUE...The sales rep talked to the worker and the issue was solved ( with me BIRDEYING HIM ) and other windows were installed semi to my standards.... ON THE UPSIDE - all new windows look a lot nicer than the 15year old windows I had; they appear to be more energy efficient than the original ones ( this summer will tell ) but when you are looking out of and quot;FROSTEDand quot; GLASS that is not suppose to be............anything looks better - ON THE DOWNSIDE - salesman rushes you - just interested in getting a contract signed - not fully ( or actually - at all ) concerned abut the customers overall satisfaction of completed job. As long as they get the money for the glass install - that is the ONLY CONCERN!! INSTALL - BE PREPARED FOR A MESS! The workers really had no concern for the mess they made during the demolition - Of course - My husband and I never had replacements but this was UNBELIEVEABLE! Glass and sheetrock EVERYWHERE! Make sure you request visquine covers or something......... extra dropcloths.....I REALLY HATE TO BADMOUTH a company where I am SEMI pleased with the FINISHED product - NO LEAKS ( YET )... NO FOG ( YET )....SEEMS TO BE HOLDING OUT THE and quot;COLDand quot;...HAVENT TESTED THE FULL SUMMER SUN......... and quot;THAT'S GONNA BE THE KICKERand quot;!! That was one of the main goals also... BUT!!!!!!!!!!! THE SALES REP HAS P***** ME OFF.....THE WORKERS HAVE P***** ME OFF......... and - I HAVENT HAD THE NEED FOR THE 'WARRANTYand quot; TO P*** ME OFF YET - BUT TIME WILL TELL ON THAT ONE ALSO....sooooooooo people - do research!! KEEP ON READING ANGIE'S LIST... AND THE B.B.B. AND ANY OTHER FORMS OF REVIEWS YOU CAN FIND - MIGHT LEAD YOU IN MULTIPLE and quot;DIRECTIONSand quot; ** SPEAKING OF SATISFACTION IN MIND - and quot;ANGIE'S LISTand quot;..........sounds AMERICAN.... I have RE-READ some of the old POSTS ( OR TESTIMONIALS ) I have written and they are WAY........ NOT MY WORDS!!! WHO EDIT'S THESE?? 'TESTIMONIALS SHOULE BE........JUST THAT..... - EXACT WORDSand quot;....... AND THE ONES I HAVE PREVIOUSLY WRITTEN ON HERE ARE NOT MY EXACT WORDS..........and quot; !!! NO CUSSING INVLOVED SO I KNOW THAT IS NOT IT!! WHAT'S U[P WITH THAT?? If I can not get my mind heard - no point in paying for it!!
Description of Work: Installation of 6 windows ; How $1134.00 ( 6 @ 189.00 as ad states ) turns into over 3700.00 amazes me still to this day - but during contract signing ( before measuring by the way ) "this fee and that fee" added up! SMOOTH TALKING salesman - kinda "realed me in" and I "took it - hook, line & sinker".........CONTRACT SIGNED - money distributed - TIME FRAME ON ARRIVAL WAS AS STATED!! No problem with installers/windows being here on schedule -

We had 19 windows replaced with upgraded (premium) windows. Several windows were incorrectly measured, and could not be installed flush with the frame leaving unfinished wood trim exposed. The windows were installed with way too much caulk to cover up the mistakes, and WW did come back and add some trim to cover the caulk. One window screen was the wrong color (don't know how they couldn't tell), and it took 3 different trips to the store and 2 extra months to get it right (we're talking about replacing a beige screen with a white one!). The installers, manager, and sales rep were all very nice, but there were way too many mistakes made.

Salesperson came out and survey job and gave price. I anticipated that the well-advertised price of $189 per window was a come-on, but based on comments from prior customers I decided to go with Window World. I also decided to add the trim work. The salesperson stated the windows would be assembled and shipped to Baton Rouge within 2-3 weeks and I would then be contacted to arrange an installation date. I confirmed that arrangement by email. After 3 weeks I called and the salesman claimed he said 3-4 weeks. He asked that I contact him again the following business day, which I did. He then checked and determined that the windows should arrive in a day or two. They did and an installation date was arranged. The installer was a contract person and he and his helper were very professional and proficient. They seemed to have done an excellent job inside, although I was a little disappointed that the outside trim relied so much on caulk to fill in holes and seal the joints.
Description of Work: Removed 8 old wooden windows and replaced them with vinyl double paned windows; also covered wooden outside trim with aluminum trim.

Cliff Holland the salesperson came to measure and order the windows. A subcontractor Buddy Roussel removed and installed the old windows. I noticed that Mr Holland made an error in his addition and did not charge me enough. I contacted the company and when asked to pay the difference I was honest enough to say okay and not hold them to the amount on the contracat. I ordered 8 windows total, 6 were ordered and installed. 2 of the windows were not the correct style ordered but had to be installed because the contractors had already ripped out and destroyed the old ones before the new ones were pulled out of the box. According to the and quot;Quality Control Sheetand quot; that Cliff Holland filled out, I ordered 2 and quot;Oriel styleand quot; windows. Another style was installed. Buddy Roussel the installer informed the company of the error and the correct style was ordered. About 2 weeks later I was called by the company and informed that they do not sell that style window. I spoke to Christian Parks and asked for some sort of compensation since I was stuck with a window style I did not order. She was polite and agreed and would speak to the manager. I called again and Tara answered and I asked her if the and quot;Quality Control Sheetand quot; was part of the contract and she definitively said and quot;YESand quot;. The manager Jason Gant called me and was VERY RUDE, extremely unprofessional and kept cutting me off saying and quot;there is nothing to say, you have to pay what was orderedand quot;. I then referred to the and quot;order sheetand quot; and told him one style was ordered and another was installed. Mr. Gant has 2 pages to his contract, one page is with the series of windows(i.e. series 4000 or series 6000) and the other page with the drawings(to make sure there is no mistake) has the style of window (this page defines whether you want no panes, or panes(also referred to as lites or grids) and if so how many) He informed me that the correct series of windows was ordered and the fact that the incorrect style was ordered was not his responsibility. The Quality Control Sheet is not part of the contract. I was flabbergasted!!!! However you do have to sign it, in order for them to order the windows. In fact above your signature it reads and quot;I certify the salesperson has explained and identified each and every abbreviation, term, and drawing on this page, the order form and the Comfortworld brocure pages 1-16 to my full and complete understanding including how each and every window is removed, installed, trimmed, accessorized, and warranted.and quot; So when I contacted Jason Gant, he could have cared less that the drawing the salesperson gave me did not match my windows. He even went so far as to say and quot;that partand quot; of the contract was not part of the contract. I told him he was dishonest, misleading and was deceiving his customers. This means you are helpless if they order the wrong size, color or grid pattern as long as the correct series of window is ordered. He flat out refused to do anything and I was forced to pay Window World. I had paid for all of the windows except for the incorrect ones. When I asked for some sort of compensation he refused, was completely unwilling to compromise and turned me over to a collection agency, forcing me to pay. It was not worth ruining my credit. My house has a lot of traffic and my neighbors to this day ask of my experience. I, without any hesitation will tell of the horrific and dishonest experience I had with Window World.

Focusing on installation - not estimate. Crew showed up on time, quickly moved around the house removing the old windows and setting the new windows. Very quick - 19 windows start to finish in 5 hours. Windows installed very well, job looks good. Only complaint was the cleanup was a little less than concerted. Thought I did a good job walking around the house at the end for the final inspection, but found a lot of small pieces (and some large) behind the bushes and in the yard afterwards that really should have been picked up in a final go-around before they left. That aside, however, very happy with the responsiveness of the company during the estimate process, and again, very impressed how quickly it took only 2 guys to do 19 windows. Another estimate (won't name names, but a big box home center) estimated 3 days.

Terrible. The first installation date set, I took off work for it. They called about 10:30 am to tell me they did not have all the parts and would not be coming. Waited several more weeks. They called and said all the parts were in. Took off another day and they did not show up. Said they would be here Saturday at eight am. Showed up at 9:45 am. The installer, Andrew, was mad he had to work on Saturday and went on rants, using the F work in front of my wife and I. He went on that the door was too heavy and he did not know what all the parts were for. Contacted a supervisor, as Andrew said he was leaving, with no door in the opening. Robert came just long enough to tell him what to do and left. They job could not be completed, as they did not have all the parts. The workmanship was terrible and they left with openings to the outside. The supervisor told me they would be back Monday to fix it. No one showed up. Tuesday morning I called the supervisor cell phone at six am to find out what was going on. He did not have a clue. He called back later and stated some one would be there to finish the install. They showed up, but could not finish the install as they did not have all the parts. The work on the door is horrible, the frame is scratched up very bad and they left blue tape all around it. The door is not square with the frame and if you do not push hard to close it there is an opening at the bottom. I purchased a storm proof door. In the installation there are only six screws attaching the frame to a one inch piece of pine on the sides. There is no mechanical connection at the top and bottom. This is not a storm proof installation. Would never use them for anything. I plan to find another vendor to replace it.

A's across the board for this company. Once our income tax money comes in, we will do the rest of the house, that's because we are so satisfied with them. I am taking the time to report this because Low E, Argon filled, double insulated energy efficient windows can be ordered from Picou Supply for under $200 in 3' x 5' sizes (much much less for smaller windows) and come with their own lifetime warranty. Installation by a trust worthy carpenter would make more sense and could avoid an installation dilemma if problems are found. Also, a competent carpenter would secure the window better and probably caulk better. The Window World installation is to simply set the ordered window in the opening, secure with four (4) screws and then use caulking to hold it firmly. Do some homework and THINK before you jump into replacing windows.
Description of Work: BEWARE of Window World advertising. I responded to their popular TV ad claiming that they would replace an old window with their life-time warranted new double insulated vinyl window for $189. NOT TRUE. When the salesman came by he spent much of the time qualifying the price with mandatory add ons. We have a ranch style home with 50's era aluminum single layer glass windows, many of which are in pairs or more. The Window World salesman avoided talking about money initially and I had to direct the conversation to cost. Here are the UNADVERTISED add-ons: (1) There is a $100 "set up" fee, (2) there is a $30 fee for each window removed; (3) There is another $30 fee for putting an "H" shaped extrusion between any set of two windows sitting together. So if you have three windows joined there is a $60 fee for the new joints; (4) there is a $50 fee per window edge that has aluminum siding or flashing along it on the outside. So a pair of windows originally bordered by aluminum siding would add $200 to replace that outside trim; (5) Energy efficiency is EXTRA: a $79 PER WINDOW fee to add the argon filled, Low-E filmed glass: the stock windows are NOT energy efficient; they are air filled between two layers of simple glass. So there is a minimum of $140 PER window before the cost of the window PLUS the set up fee. The estimated PER window cost is $189 plus $140 which is $320 per window MINIMUM before taxes plus the set up fee. Disappointing is the fact that if there are any structural problems uncovered during installation, the consumer would have to call in a carpenter to address them. And what is further disappointing is their claimed lifetime warranty only covers the glass itself. The frame is not covered, the screen is not covered and the caulking is not covered. Again, should the window frame or track ever become damaged, THERE IS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE. I initially wanted to change out 7 windows and what should have been in the $1400 range easily exceeded $2300 before taxes. I would feel quite differently if their TV advertising gave the facts and did not bait the consumer. This is classic bate & switch and predatorial in my opinion. While your mileage may vary, I do believe most people would rather here the truth up front.

I called to make an appointment to have someone come out to the house and look over what we are trying to do in the way of window replacements. The representative (Joseph Lockwood) arrived on time. He was very professional. He gave us a price for vinyl replacement windows. We are debating about whether to go with wood windows or vinyl, and Window World offers only vinyl. A wood-looking vinyl is available, and we will have to go to the showroom to see examples of it. The price for the wood-looking vinyl seemed unreasonably high, and it wasn't clear from the "color chips" how good the wood grain vinyl would look and how long it would stay in like-new condition.
Description of Work: So far we have only received an estimate from a Window World representative. He was on time, very professional, polite, and respectful of our time. The price wasn't the lowest we have gotten, but it seemed the product quality is in line with the price. It would have been good to have more samples of the available products, especially a "real life" example of wood-looking vinyl windows. I would also have appreciated a clearer breakdown (a table, perhaps) of what various color & design choices are available and how they would affect the final cost.

The company representative came out promptly to measure my windows and give me a price. He also went over the tax credit for installing the energy efficient windows. They had an interest free finance plan which I took advantage of. I did not have to wait long for the job to begin. The installers were wonderful. They worked very quickly and neatly. They came as a crew and finished all windows in one day. I have 17 windows and could not believe they finished in such a short amount of time. They cleaned up after themselves. They had dropcloths to catch the glass from the old windows. Very friendly and polite. I have recommended them to friends and would use them again.

They never contacted me back after they gave the estimate. First they advertised a $189 and then when they came out and did the estimate, it was over $200 for a window. I felt that their price was high. They called me after I had someone come out to do the job, which was almost a month later. They taught me a lot about what to look for in windows. These people are amazing! They came out for an estimate quickly, very professional, pointed out every feature right in front of us with a sample window, and we were sold! They ordered the windows which take a month to come in. A month to the day they called and set up the appointment for installation the very next day! Incredible! 2 men showed up and went to work. Within a matter of hours my windows were installed and the quality and beauty of them make it a fabulous experience to look out now! Thank you Window World!!

We contracted Window World to replace 6 windows and repair one rotted window sill. It took almost 2 months for them to get the custom windows from the manufacturer. They asked me to remove my window mounted air conditioning unit and any curtains or hangings, and move the furniture out of the way so they could work. They agreed to come out on Monday, so my father and I spent Father's Day removing the air conditioner. I took a vacation day from work to wait for them. No one showed up. I called several times and was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. Once, the receptionist hung up on me. No one ever called back. Finally, around 4 pm, I got in touch with someone named "Robert" who said that the installers could not come out that day. I could not take another day off of work, since it was hard enough to schedule vacation time on short notice, so he said that the job would be given to another crew and he promised that they would come out that evening. They never came. One day of vacation spent waiting in the 90 degree heat for no reason. At 7 pm someone called and said they could come out the next morning, at 7:30. They arrived at 6:45 the next morning and, in one hour, hastily installed 6 windows. The neighbors complained about the noise so early in the morning. They left glass and debris inside and outside the house. They claimed to know nothing about the window sill repair job they were contracted to do. After calling in to his supervisor, he said he would come back out at 4 that afternoon to repair the window sill. He never showed up. He never called. The next day, Wednesday, we called again and they promised to fix the window sill that day. They never showed up. They never called. It is Thursday and still no one has shown up to complete the contracted work. The window sill they have neglected to repair is the one that supports my Air Conditioning unit. For the last 4 days I have been without air conditioning in the 90+ degree heat, waiting for them to finish the job. It is miserable. My experience with Window World has been a series of broken promises and lies. Their customer service people are rude, unprofessional, and unsympathetic. They seem to not care about their customers at all. I would have been easier and cheaper to buy the windows from another company and install them myself, since all they did was pop out the old windows and stick in the new ones with a caulking gun.
