 + -1 moreCheerful hard worker, took our ideas and incorporated into design, added as we went at our request, keep place clean as he went. I was very happy with how he and his assistants worked and with the end product. He was superb and very reasonable!
Description of Work: Removeded all plants, etc in large beds in front of house, put in drain, watering system, deer repellent and replanted with flowers, fruit trees, borders. Desighned. Took out large hypermarureazaleas,preserved what we liked.

 + -1 moreIt went very very well. The yard was beautiful by the time of the First Communion and flourished during the summer. The only real casualties were these very pretty but apparently fragile red leafed azaleas (3 out of 4 died). But the rest is absolutely gorgeous, even now (late September). I would definitely use his company again and recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: My husband was working in South Korea and we had to get the yard ready for our youngest daughter's first communion. Raymond came over and discussed what might work and how we could clean up and add interest to the backyard and some items in the front. He cleaned the beds, planted a variety of new plants, trimmed the crazy azaleas and camelias.

 + 0 moreMy husband usually maintains our rental property when there is no tennant, but he was injured and required knee surgery and months of physical therapy so I turned to Angie's list to find someone to do yard makntanence for us. i called several different companies, but Raymond was the first to respond and was very professional and seemed perfect for the job. Raymond does a good job when he does show up, but with no set schedule and rarely any notice before he shows up, it's difficult to give him a better rating. There was an incident when he claims he mowed the property, but it clearly had not been attended to judging from the knee-high grass in the backyard. He claims I will not be billed for that week, but I have yet to see an invoice for services. Overall I will continue to use him until I get a new tenant, but the lack regular contact would keep me from recommending him to friends.

Description of Work: First date of service was April 27th; agreed to pay him $45 to cut, edge, weed eat. Paid him $60, to do extra weed eating on a small patch of ground cover next to the back deck. As he was leaving, he said he forgot to do the extra weed eating on ground cover, but had to go, and would come back on Sunday. He never showed up. I should have fired him right then, but tried to give him another chance, but had to track him down. He would never committ to a schedule. My son (who lives in N.O.) cut the yard in May, and only until June 6, did Raymond Forrest come back to do my yard. I still gave him an extra $10 (why?). He never came back. . . . finally, I called Raymond, as a courtesy call, and fired him. He was replace by Dukes Lawn Service, my neighbors lawn maintance crew. They are totally pro's at what they do, dependable, efficient , get in and out in a timly fashion, and do an outstanding job.

Ray has been cutting my grass for a few months now and does a good job, and responds to all of my requests. Very nice guy, and has other landscaping skills which I plan to use.
Description of Work: Ray cuts my grass about every week or two, depending on need.

 + 0 moreHe came to inspect the property and discuss the details of what we wanted together with a time deadline by which we needed the landscaping finished. He spent about two hours with us, taking notes and measurements. He made a point of telling us his qualifications and how professional and diligent he was. He told us that he would get back to us with a price for the yard and bed maintenance in 2 or 3 days, but it would take a couple of weeks to work up a plan and an estimate for the landscaping. Over two weeks passed and we hadn't heard from him, so we called. He didn't even remember us. After stuttering and stammering a bit, he told us how very busy he had been and that other people had been waiting longer. He was somewhat rude but promised to get back to us in a few days. We haven't heard from him since.
Description of Work: Discuss doing lawn and bed maintenance as well as a landccaping project.

He kept us informed as to when he would arrive, and if there was a delay due to weather or circumstance, he would inform us. He was knowledgeable and meticulous about the completion of the job to our satisfaction. We were confident that he was honest. We would use him again.
Description of Work: Raymond Forrest and his crew did an excellent job. He cleaned out flower beds and added mulch and fertilized the plants. He pruned our shrubs. He put in an irrigation system for the flower beds. He added decorative brick around the edge of the flower beds. He dug 4 french drains in the back yard.

 + -1 moreI had a design in mind for raised planter boxes. Raymond discussed them with me and we agreed upon a price. As he was buying the materials he redesigned the boxes to be less costly while more attractive. He built them within the time frame he had agreed upon and charged me about 20% less than he quoted me because of the material savings. I was very pleased with his service.
Description of Work: I had Raymond remove some shrubbery and build three raised planter boxes. He did an excellent job below budget. Will defintely use him again.

Description of Work: He laid out some Pavers and Crushed Limestone. He had to start by removing dirt from the area and actually took the time to put it in some holes that our dog made in back yard. He really took the time to make sure everything was done as perfect as it can be.

Description of Work: He built trenches for water flow, and also put in rocks. He also reconnected my sprinkling system. He also was able to locate a drain that was under a tree. He transplanted the tree, and brought the drain up higher.
