Zefferino von Kurnatowski is a true gem in the world of "Tree Men"! He is extremely knowledgeable, highly professional, analytical, conscientious, honest, and overall, a joy to work with. I have used his services in the past several times, even recommended him to our subdivision Civic Association; they chose him. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone, for both residential & commercial tree work in the Baton Rouge area, although he "has truck, will travel" probably appliesto "Zeff". The Biggz team arrived on time and immediately began to work, with no slackers, nor any "wait time". They were extremely safety conscious and efficient in the execution of the large machinery. It was a back-breaking job to prune the canopy of live oaks which were endangering my glass roof. The job was not "rushed", everyone stayed on the job until completion, and Zeff made sure the job was finished to my satisfaction. The debris was removed and the area cleaned. Biggz is the only name in town for trees!

They were very competitively priced and they put in a very good deed and that was one of the reasons I went with them. They were fast, efficient and did everything exactly the way they told me they would. They were less expensive than most tree services that I've come across. The owner came out to do a quote and he's very polite, very professional and very knowledgeable. His communication skills are very good. We had some weather problems so our scheduling kind of got messed up a couple of times but he was very good at contacting me immediately and letting me know and rescheduling with me or telling me what was going on. I highly recommend them.

Zefferino (owner) and his crew were awesome. Extremely professional, punctual, did a great job, cleaned up after themselves. Zefferino, explained exactly what would be done and how it would be done, provided an estimate, and performed the work exactly as proposed. I would not hesitate to recommend him for this service and will when anyone asks who I would recommendation.

Zefferino and his team were great. We received a quote very quickly and it was the lowest of three tree removal companies. They were also available to start work very soon. They showed up on the days scheduled and got the work done quickly. We will definitely use Biggz Professional Tree Care again and will recommend them to our friends.

Zefferino showed up at the appointed time and looked over the trees in my yard, especially those located close to the house and outbuildings. He then provided me with a written proposal for the work, and copies of his license and insurance information. Despite his verbal promise, he did not send any written testimonials from former customers; I assume that this was just an oversight. He later responded promptly to my telephone inquiries about his proposal, and he was willing to modify the cost of the proposal, when I suggested a cheaper way that the work could be carried out.

I had a large water oak limb come down with some rough weather. Zefferino gave a very reasonable quote. Though we had initial communication issues (on both sides) these were quickly resolved. I liked his professionalism and directness. This man knows his stuff, and gave good advice regarding what to prune and what to leave. He could have easily suggested some live oak limbs hanging over my roof be taken out, but he did not. He pointed out they looked healthy and he would leave them alone if they were his own trees. His crew showed up the following week on time, and they were quick. They finished up in a few hours, and removed the remaining debris the following morning. Yard looks good, trees look great. I would very much recommend this company. In fact, I've told a few of my neighbors about Biggz already. Very pleased.

After moving into a new house in Hundred Oaks, we realized we had a dying water oak in our small side yard that hung over our house, our yard, and our neighbors yard. We knew removing the tree would not be easy. After getting multiple quotes and recommendations from neighbors and friends, we had no doubt about using Biggz Tree Service. Zeff and his crew did an amazing job removing the tree and cleaning up. There were no problems and we are so pleased with our service!!

The entire interaction from beginning to end was very positive. He was recommended to me by a friend, and I would definitely use him again and recommend him as well. Easy to work with, personable, knowledgeable, very good communicator, did work when promised, cleaned up well. I checked on his license and he was up to date on everything (license, insurance) including continuing education credits. On the first visit, I liked that he wanted to educate me about the trees, and did not push me about taking down the tree, I came to that conclusion myself. I checked B on the price only because the price he gave me was in the ballpark of what I thought the work would cost, and I liked him - so did not get a second estimate. I did call a second tree person, but he did not do the type of crane work that was needed for the size of the tree.

Everything went very well from the evaluation and bid stage through job completion. Communication was excellent throughout the process. No surprises, no problems. Crews were efficient, professional, and respectful. Owner followed up to ensure satisfaction. Highly recommend Biggz for tree service in the Baton Rouge area.

It could not have been a better experience! Zeff was very professional and a pleasure to work with. His crew was precise, fast, and professional. They left the job-site undamaged and completely clean. I have recommended them to others and will use them again if needed!

Everything went well. Zefferino was very knowledgeable, and advised us which trees should be trimmed to protect our home. A red oak had recently snapped and landed on our home, which raised our commitment level to trim our trees from "it's on the list" to "top priority". He came in when he said he would and completed the job as scheduled. He and his team did an excellent job. They were extremely careful and removed all debris. We are very happy with the work and would definitely recommend him and have recommended him to neighbors.

It could not have been better. This is the second time I have used Biggz. It was good last time and better today. Crew was efficient, safe and professional. Don't get in their way, they have a system and are moving to get the job done. They were very careful around the house. I can't think of anything they could have done to make it better.

Zefferino came and did an estimate for trimming several trees in my yard. I have three "old" water oaks, two of which were threatening the house. His crew did above and beyond cleaning up the oaks plus some pines, the big dead branches plus all small suckers. Trees look great and I feel a lot safer. They were quick and did a good job cleaning up.

This is the second time that I have used Biggz. The first time I needed tree work I shopped around and Biggz was the best offer. For this project, they were the only ones I called. Zefferino came to meet me and give a quote. He showed up early, knows a ton about trees and offers detailed advice. His crew happened to be in the nighborhood and they showed the same day since as it was a smaller job. Zefferino came out and showed the foreman exactly what was supposed to be done. They did exactly what they said they would without damaging anything. They also checked at the end to ensure that their work met my specifications once they were done, but before they packed up their gear. They came later that afternoon and hauled off everything that they had cut down. Another wonderful job by Biggz.

I located Zeff on Angies List and was impressed with reviews. I actually had trees cut years ago with a competitor and called him. He promised to come on a Saturday morning and never showed or called. I immediately called and said forget it, I'm getting other estimates. Zeff came in a little higher but came down to within $250 and included a stump that wasn't in his first bid he gave me. I had to wait several weeks for scheduling, but he had the equipment and was professional. Showed up on time, did the job. He got the crew started and then left for another job prep. That did cause some concern as the crew was large and his supervisor was busy and could not be communicated with. I kept up running around ensuring all areas were as stated. Three live oaks were trimmed off my roof, I thought one could have been pruned a little more. As they left with the large truck, it now had more weight and left some good ruts in an area I am to build a shop and will do dirt work anyway. They also took out a gum tree. Zeff called to check and I stated my concerns, he showed up with some topsoil bags and filled in some of the ruts, we spoke of the tree and he took off $150. Bottom line, professional, showed up on time, was quick, cleaned up and within three hours you couldn't tell anyone had been around. Another truck showed up as stated and took the large gum tree trunk pieces that had been placed by the road. Bottom line, satisfied, I'd recommend and will use again.

We made the decision that it was time to cut down an extremely tall, 100 foot red oak in our backyard (sad and difficult to decide, but it had been struck by lightning and one of the branches almost took out part of the house). We proceeded cautiously, as the tree was so big and located very close to our house. We talked with a lot of tree experts, received three estimates from three different companies, and ultimately decided to go with Biggz based on there estimate which we felt was very fair, and Zeffrino's professionalism and knowledge. The removal went extremely smoothly. We watched the whole process from our front yard- along with some of our neighbors- and it was an amazing sight to see. The crew protected out lawn with sheets of plywood, and took the tree was removed in about half a day. The stump was ground up, and all of the debris was hauled away by the following day. We could not be happier with how the process went, and with the results.

Looked my trees. I told Zeff what I wanted . He sent me quote by email. His employees did a perfect job on the trees. No problems. I had them do work in the past and will use them again.

Zefferino with Biggz Tree Service arrived in early August to give me an estimate on extracting 3 trees and trimming approximately 7 others. He showed up on time and was professional/courteous from the get-go. He offered me an estimate of $3900 which included the use of a crane, bucket truck, stump grinding, wood chipper and large debris truck. He told me that his rates are competitive and if another tree company had a lower rate, he would want to know and to give him the chance to compete. By happenstance, another tree company showed up a week later looking for work to do in the neighborhood. I had him give me an estimate for the same work and it was $3400. I emailed Zeff back to see if he would be true to his word, and he was. Since I had an Angie's list coupon for 5% off, he was able to to it for ~$3575 and the coupon brought it down to $3400. Even though other tree companies were available to do the work immediately, I couldn't book Zeff for about 3 weeks and the wait was well worth it. Also, his price included more workers and equipment than I probably would've received from the other tree company. On the day of the work, again, they were punctual. The job started at about 6:45AM. He had about 10 workers on the job, give or take, and they came in and attacked all the trees. There was a climber/cutter in each of the trees simultaneously while others were hauling the debris as it was being cut. After each tree was done, a worker cleaned the area under it by raking up leaves and other small limbs. The trees that were extracted were very close to the house and they used utmost care (crane) and safety in removing them. I have a lot of gum trees in the yard, and Zeff also can chemically treat trees. He informed me that if I don't want to remove some of my other gums, he can inject a chemical into them each year to stop them from producing those awful gum balls. I didn't have this done at the time, as it can only be done near spring. No other tree professional has ever informed me of this option. Not to stereotype, but most tree guys I've run into in the past are usually very rough around the edges and sometimes are grumpy, etc. They have tough jobs. Zeff is not like that at all and will give you the utmost courtesy and respect that one should have when hiring a professional. I plan to have Biggz Tree Service here in the spring for the tree injection treatment and for any future tree service needs!

From calling for an estimate to take down a huge oak, to hauling off the tree debris, Zefferino's team came in here as he said they would and did what he said they would do. The name of his company is correct: Professional Tree Care....we've never dealt with such a quick, efficient and professional team of tree service men in over thirty years of having tree work done (commercical & residential) in Baton Rouge. He is a licensed, insured LOUISIANA contractor with very competitive pricing. In the future, I will only consider using his company and will not hesitate, as I've already done, to refer his services to my circle of family and friends. Once again, Angie's List came through for us!

I contacted Zeff to get an estimate after finding his company on Angie's List. He came to my house to view the work needed and later that night sent me an email with an estimate of cost. After we agreed on a price, he gave me a range of dates when the work would be performed. I contacted Zeff when it got close to the dates we agreed upon and set up a specific date for the work. On the day of the work, Zeff called me about an hour before the crew showed up. I went home and they showed up and began the work. Zeff was there when they began. The work took around 3 hours. There were lots of trucks and lots of workers. I stayed inside as it was pretty loud, which is to be expected. After they were done, one of the guys had me review the work to make sure it was OK and I was satisfied. Later that afternoon Zeff called to make sure I was satisfied with the work too. I was satisfied with the work. They cleaned everything up very well, including my neighbor's driveway. Zeff communicated with me every step of the way. The work and cost matched his estimate. I would use this service again.

They were able to work me into their schedule on short notice (but that won't always be possible, I'm sure). Early in the morning they showed up with crew of 9 or 10, chain saws, crane, and chipper, started around 7 AM and were done (except for stump grinding) 3.5 hours later. The stumps were ground several days later. ... Very relieved to have the threat to our house removed, and happy with the performance of Biggz.

Their work was performed approximately on schedule. The scope of work as originally bid was met plus they did a little extra at no added cost. Zefferino, the owner, is very professional and committed to doing the best work. Biggz was lowest bid of 3 contractors by 10% plus the 5% Angie's List discount for a total savings of about $220. The only negative and the reason for awarding a B for Quality was that general site cleanup upon completion was short of expectations. I had to pickup a large trash bag of branches plus a few branches too large to put into the bag. I discussed this with Zefferino after the fact and he apologized. He offered to discount the price by $100 (not reflected in the estimated job cost) to compensate me for my work. He faulted a new supervisor for this shortcoming. However, he was at the site intermittently and at completion so he had the presence to correct if the cleanup was not up to his standards. In any case, I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. But at the beginning of work, be sure to discuss your cleanup expectations, which I failed to do.

Mr. Zefferino and his crew are remarkable. Mr. Zefferino was always in contact, via email or phone, always explaining the procedures and was very patient in addressing my concerns, especially the financial ones. The final invoice was even less than he quoted, which was a most generous gesture and a lovely surprise. His crew were punctual, arriving on the date and the time agreed upon. They were extremely professional very courteous, and polite. They did a remarkable job and my husband and I are very pleased with the work. I would recommend Mr. Zeff and company to anyone needing trees trimmed or removed. Thanks.

Zefferino was very knowledgeable on how to properly trim back a large water oak very near our home. Using a laser light to point to the limbs he wanted to remove I clearly understood what work would be done beforehand. He was very professional, courteous and timely. Once he had done the initial work on the water oak, I asked him to take out some high limbs hanging in pine trees in the back yard. He did this work also at a very reasonable charge. His knowledge, work ethic and price were first rate. I intend to call on him in the future when any of my trees need work.
