Terminix - Alexandria -Termite & Pest Control

The spray they use doesn't have a strong aroma. They are very thorough when they are spraying for pests and do a good job. They have also placed traps for me with no additional charges when I suspected other pests outside my home. I have a contract with this company.

They show up on time and call to confirm their visit. We've only had a problem with them showing up unannounced one time.

Our biggest complaint about Terminix is that they do not call ahead and notify us when they are going to check our house. This deficiency causes a lot of headaches and rescheduling of their appointments.

Their work went very well. I've not had any problems since. They came back and did a follow up treatment just like they said they would.

They do a pretty good job. It's great that they always send the same guy out who knows where to spray for problem areas that you've had in the past. It's nice to know you have the same guy to count on that you've used before. We will continue to use them for future service. The approximate cost listed is for the year. I actually pay them in $90 increments per month for about four or five months.

We orginally had a bad case of termites and they came and did a treatment. We then got the yearly contract with them, that way if there are anymore problems you won't have to pay any more than what we paid for that contract. When they come now they look inside and outside for any termite activity. The way they check for temite activity is by placing pegs and then checking then yearly.

They are unreliable because they don't do the work that they are supposed to. They said that they would schedule a meeting to do the work and then not show up occasionally. They were to spray along the exterior of the house and dweeb where the insects build nests, but they never did that. When they came out one time to do the spray they had about 100 gallon tank in the back of their truck that had a mixture in it that they needed to add water to and they used our water to do it.

We have had to call them between sprays because of bees or ants and they have been very responsive to our needs. They do a good job at keeping the bugs at bay. They show up every month; I do not have to call them. They leave a detailed report when they complete the work.

We have been using this company since about 1995 and are very happy with them. The thing we like the most, is that the same guy has been taking care of our termite control the whole time. We are very comfortable with him, and will probably always used them.

I wouldn t recommend them at all. They charged me $100.00 more than they charged my neighbors! I got my hundred dollars back after going to the better business bureau. I don t like anything about them. I no longer have a service agreement with them. I would like to warn people about them.

They had come out without making an appointment and I was not home. They had stated that the block was working and in good shape however since I was not home, they did not have access to the block. How would they have known that? I am very leery of their practices now.

Terminix International is very dependable and professional. They come when they say they will and get the job done quickly and efficiently. They have always been successful in exterminating all of the bugs. They are in and out without any problems. We pay a monthly fee.

I called for a free inspection and estimate. I was given a two hour window, and no one showed up. I called back and they claimed the appointment was messed up in their system because they had associated our appointment with the previous owners' inspection from a year ago when we bought the house. I don't know how they did that, but I rescheduled the inspection. The inspector came to our house the second time, and quoted us $700 for the initial treatment and $150 every year thereafter for them to inspect and keep the warranty valid. The inspector offered us a 20%-off coupon if we could schedule by the end of the month, reducing the price to $560, so we agreed and signed the contract. Again no one showed up at the appointment time. When I called, I was told they would look into what happened and call right back. By the end of the day I still did not get a call back and they weren't answering their phone, so I decided to cancel my contract and take my business elsewhere.

They did not show up at all. When I called I got routed to several different people. Finally after 2 and a half weeks someone showed up for the job. The job was done alright but it took too much effort to actually get them out here.

NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND I WILL REPORT THEIR MISCONDUCT TO BBB.

They were great and took care of the bees.

Thus far, no termite activity has been reported, and we have not noticed any activity or damage on our house. We are satisfied with Terminix.

The inspector arrived on time and briefly sprayed the outside of the front and back of the house (while talking on his cell phone the whole time). He did not inspect any of the house and sprayed only under the sinks in the kitchen and bathroom. When I asked him if he could look to see where the ants were entering the house, he said, "they usually come in through the pipes". After several days, there was no decrease in ants and I called for them to come re-service my home (included free with the yearly contract). I was told my call would be returned in 24 hours. It was not, I continued to call over the next several days (4 to 5 times) and no one returned my call. Each call went to the national communications center, no one ever answered at our local branch. I have canceled my contract and asked for a refund. That took several unreturned calls to get taken care of as well. The entire experience was extremely frustrating and I still have ants.

My problem with Terminix is not so much the service they actually performed, as with their business practices and accounting. At the time of the initial service, I gave the exterminator a check made out to Terminix for the service per the quote I was given over the phone and what the exterminator had on his call sheet. The check was deposited by Terminix the same day, and I verified this with my bank and was given the deposit account numbers. Since that time (the end of June 2006), I have received bills from Terminix for the service each month. I have called them and faxed them proof of payment 3 times. Each time I was told the account was corrected and sorry for the inconvenience. Then I receive another bill. The latest was a notice of collection for the payment. Terminix is completely incompetent - this problem is a HUGE inconvenience and is now affecting my credit, even though I have proof of payment. On top of this, I've had a lot of bugs in my house! Don't use them!

When the Terminix staff failed to show at the appointed time of 8:00am, I called the contact number at 8:30am. They apologized and rescheduled the appointment for the following week. At 9:30am, the neighbors reported that the Terminix van arrived. The company clearly has no accurate method of appointment scheduling or tracking staff. I will take my business elsewhere.

Abhorrent. Not only was the service completely ineffective, they would not return phone calls. I called at least 5 times in a 4 week period and not once did I receive a call back. Also, they do not honor their guarantee, well, I'm assuming they don't since they will not return your calls. My next step is the Better Business Bureau and then a lawyer. Stay away from this company and this branch. I will be contacting a local, non chain, provider that hopefully has ethics they stand by.

The work was satisfactory, however, I will NEVER EVER use this company again. I sent them proof that I had paid the total amount with my last check of $150 & copies of previous checks; however, I kept get repeatedly phone calls about my last payment of $50. This happened several, & I do mean several, times & it also happened last year. No matter how many times I sent them copies of my checks, I was still harassed about the last payment of $50. My last check in February was for $150. Thus, I have decided to cancel my service with them immediately. I also was able to find companies that were much cheaper than them for treatments of a townhouse.

Their ad says a free estimate. Their estimate was over the phone and no value whatsoever. How can you estimate the job without seeing it? I did not use them and I never will.

THEY GOT RID OF THE MICE BUT THEY KEPT TRYING TO COME OUT AND SPRAY THE EXTERIOR OF OUR HOME WHEN I TOLD THEM NOT TO. WHEN THEY DID SLIP BY THEY TRIED TO CHARGE US FOR THE SPRAYING.

THEY DO A GOOD JOB. I'VE NOT NOTICED ANY PESTS SO WHAT THEY DO MUST BE WORKING. THEY AREN'T REALLY THAT PUNCTUAL OR RESPONSIVE. LIKE MY LAWN CARE COMPANY THEY PRETTY MUCH COME OUT ON THEIR OWN SCHEDULE.
