They used a good product as a sealer and gave us instructions on the best time to wait before driving on the newly sealed area. It has been a month and so far so good. It was a fair price for a good job. |

Description of Work: When Down to Earth came to bid the job after I purchased the deal, he didn't specifically talk to me about cracks over 1/4", and I didn't realize I had to ask. (This is the first time I've had the asphalt sealed by someone else.) When the bid came in at $600 in addition to the $89 I'd already paid for the deal, I naively assumed that it must include filling the bigger cracks. My copy of the bid had gotten wet, making the details illegible, before I had a chance to read it all. I should have asked for another. My fault! | |DtE was very easy to schedule with and accommodated my requested timing. On the day of service, the guys blew off the driveway surface, spread the sealer, and were finished in less than 30 minutes. I can't understand how, if it took that little work, the cost was so high. I believe that it is a high-quality sealer, but that's a high price for so little time and effort. | |They left my driveway gates open, letting my dog out. Once I got her back, I had to figure out how to close the gates without walking on the fresh sealer. | |When it was dry enough to walk on and examine, I noticed the bigger cracks had not been filled. I contacted DtE, and he said I had declined to have them filled. I told him I hadn't thought to ask him about it, and he hadn't asked me. He offered to come back and fill the cracks for an additional $400 and then to recoat the driveway at no additional cost. I thought this was a nice offer, but that would total over $1000 to seal a driveway that was not in bad shape to begin with. | |Down to Earth was responsive and punctual, and I believe they used a top-quality product, but I wish he had talked specifics with me about the cracks, and I believe the cost was out of line with what I got for the money.

Description of Work: Total cost was 200 dollars more than my usual contractor. Down to Earth was prompt and professional. Just too expensive.

Description of Work: We give Tim and Down to Earth the highest rating for their excellent service a month ago. We took it upon ourselves to ask them to return a few wks. later for second sealer because we had not had anything done for several years. We have already recommended Down to Earth to friends.

Description of Work: pretty good job , but basically I make mistake about the resurface . I do have lot of small+big cracks, The owner came to explain me when I have concerns, that's pretty good. He also give me a price to resurface it. But it thousands of dollars, we can not do right now. The service is good and quick, it at least looks prettier.

Description of Work: I don't think it is their problem but the work was done on a day when the temp was over 100 degrees. My neighbor said they did one coat (Down to Earth said two and I was not there to make sure) and due to the heat the asphalt ran and spooled in various areas of the driveway leaving some with no asphalt. The last time I did my driveway myself it lasted 4 years. This didn't even make it one year.

Description of Work: This isn't really a review as much as a news report. I never heard from the provider I purchased the driveway sealing service from. I still need my driveway sealed though so am happy to give them another shot if they are still in business.

Description of Work: Minor topping on part of drive. Responded quickly to the request phone call but did take a bit to get the job done. Prompt on service day and did what was contracted for.

Description of Work: Prior to resealing my driveway, there were numerous fine cracks in need of attention and which were individually hand repaired by Tim Gadjen of "Down to Earth," Also the apron which was in much worse condition, needed even greater preparatory repairs. Driveway resealing was carried out using their standard ashphalt sealant. Two coats were applied, the first of which was brushed on, but the second coat had to be sprayed on because, due to other job scheduling requirements, sufficient drying time had not been allowed to elapse since the first application. Although while still wet, the finished appearance was good, upon drying most of the fine cracks reappeared. An attempt was made to patch the worst areas, but this not only failed to fix the cracks, it also spoiled the overall finished appearance. Subsequently, an application of a more expensive polymerised sealant was brushed on by Tim himself. It did a much better job of covering the cracks and I would suggest that it is worth paying extra for, although in this case it was done free of charge. I very much appreciate the efforts made by Tim and his team for their punctuality and their willingness to please - Many thanks guys!

Description of Work: Our experience was very good. They arrived as promised, completed the job in a timely manner, cleaned up well after themselves. I thought that a few areas needed better coverage and they provided that. The job survived the (mild) winter well.
