Description of Work: Came to my home and opened file cabinet I had locked myself out of (I had purchased used and did not have key) and they replaced the lock. Sadly, the cost to do so was more than I had paid for the file cabinet (university surplus). I had no idea it would cost so much.

+ -1 moreOur house was built in 1938 and we wanted to keep the look and feel of the older looking hardware on the front and kitchen doors. When we bought the house we inherited 3 different keys to get into the various doors and we wanted to simplify our keyrings. Mr. Boss was very professional and punctual and was able to simplify us down to just one key... all while keeping the older/worn looking knobs and handles. He also shared some recommendations for other area businesses (since we're new to the area). Sounds like this is a family owned/operated business in talking with Mr. Boss.
Description of Work: Replaced two cylinders on external doors, replaced two deadbolts and doorknobs on on external doors.

+ -1 moreHave a condo am readying for sale. Wanted to change the master deadbolt and they told me I could bring it in and save the $65 service fee. I did so and changing the keying and getting extra keys only came to $17.42. On returning to the condo with the changed lock I was unable to install it correctly. After much frustation I called them and they came right over and installed the master deadbolt. Bob Boss also check out my doornob at no cost while he was there. They were all very efficient and friendly and I was glad I had chosen them.
Description of Work: Had Combined Lock change the keying on my deadbolt lock. Regretably I couldn't get it reinstalled correctly so had them come out and install it.

+ -1 moreI have a 1928 house, and thought a 1928 lock on the front door. My key got struck in the door,on the outside! I called at 8 am, ( they weren't open until 9). Spoke with Bob who got directions,and TOLD me he had a job ahead of me, but it would take no longer than an hour (Great! Now I can plan aroundthe job). He was at my house in 45 minutes, and out the door in less than 20. I have a new cylinder on the front door, new keys (4), and the back door is keyed same as the front -I'mvery pleased! I would call them again in a heartbeat - in fact, I'm happy to now have a locksmith on my rolodex that I can trust and will recommend.
Description of Work: Replaced an old cylinder, made 4 new keys and rekeyed the back door to be the same as the front.

Description of Work: Can't say enough goods things about this gentleman/owner of Combined Lock Services. This business in very close proximity to our residence but I believe he would have responded just as quickly had he been 30 miles away. The next day after contacting his business he sent one of his tech/ locksmiths out to scope out my problem lock (a multipoint lock). This was no conventional atrium door lock mechanism but rather a German model with less reliability than a BMW. I had spent years of web research to find a replacement to no avail, and had succumbed to my family's constant nagging to have a professional FIX it. It was several days after the visit that I called as I hadn't heard anything. The owner stated he hadn't spoken to the tech but said he would the next day as the tech had gone home for the day. As promised, he called back and reported a litany of dead end research and in the end we conclude that I should switch from the compromised and defective Pozzi door (sweating failure E-glass double pain, and Fuhr lock) When asked what charges for the house call. NOTTA thing. I believe, Bob Boss (owner) would have even walked my dog had I asked. Thanks for the professional efforts Bob! Rich & Kim K

He arrived at 9 as promised and as able to rekey all my locks to one key without having to change out any hardware. They all work great and I don't have so many keys on my keychain. The cost included 6 copies of the key. George was efficient, a very good communicator and pleasant to work with. I would hire these guys again without hesitation.
Description of Work: Needed to have doors to house rekeyed to all match (we had three different keys for the five entrance doors to our home).

I appreciate the fact that he put down a rag below the door so that wood chips would not scatter in my house's entry way. He was courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend Bob to anyone looking for a great locksmiths.

They were very friendly on the phone, took some pertinent information and said they would call me the next day to let me know what time they would be out. The next morning they called to confirm directions and said they would be out as soon as the other employees got in (there was cumulative snow on the ground). A gentleman showed up within the hour and in no time at all had both locks changed. He then made sure I knew how to operate each of them (the locks were original to the house, about 100 years old). The man who came out (I didn't get his name) was very nice and personable, and was even friendly to my dog! He was very efficient and did the job quickly and with a smile. What a pleasant experience!
