I started the business in 1976 with my son and continue it today with my grandson using the same business location and phone number as on the day I started. I build what I consider to be high quality in-ground swimming pools at affordable prices. The construction time on normal in-ground swimming pools is three weeks in the summer when the weather is good. We try to never have more that two pools under construction at the same time so that we stay on the job till it is finished. We do all pools on a first come first serve basis. We do not require a deposit or advance when the contract is signed unless something is special in the contract. We do require a start payment and other scheduled payments as the job moves along to it;s finish. The customer holds ten percent of the contract price till the pool is finished and operating. We do not offer discounts except for late fall or next year projects. We have a published price list for standard pools and make this available to all who request it. We also offer free site evaluations and and price quotes. We will also provide you with a short list of our customers should you wish to contact some of them. You may request literature on our pools by phone (859/873-9302) or by EMAIL (tgpools@aol.com. The phone also rings into my home so you can call most any time. Should you want to talk to me please call late or leave your number or you can EMAIL with your questions. One tip for all of you who have not owned a pool; talk to as many people who do own a pool and ask them questions. If you decide on a pool and a builder, talk to some of the customers of the builder and ask their opinion of the builder. Better yet, Get on Angies List and read the comments.

Pool constructions and installations FAQs

The average cost of an above-ground pool is between $1,100 and $5,700. Costs will vary depending on the type of pool you install. The low end of the price range includes a DIY kit for around $800 and goes up to about $15,000 for a custom pool with extra features like a deck and water features. Building an above-ground pool is much faster than installing an inground one. The cost tends to be much lower for an above-ground pool than for an inground pool because there’s less labor involved, especially when it comes to excavation and running plumbing and electrical lines.

Installing an inground pool costs around $55,000, on average. The typical price range is between $39,000 and $70,000, depending on the size and type of pool and accessibility of the site. This project requires an experienced pool installation contractor as the project usually involves extensive excavation, plumbing, electrical, concrete, and careful grading of the concrete or pavers around the pool.

Adding a spa to a pool is worth it if you use it enough. Adding a built-in spa to an inground pool can cost between $15,000 and $20,000, on top of installing the pool. A separate hot tub costs between $5,000 and $8,000. These prices will vary depending on the hot tub's size, type, and features. Additional costs include maintenance, electricity, and plumbing.

From start to finish, building an inground pool takes anywhere from two to four months. Factors that impact time to completion include any weather delays, material delays or shortages, scheduling conflicts, and any unforeseen challenges. The project may take most of the pool season, depending on where you live. Because of this, it’s a good idea to start getting estimates and finding a qualified pool company at least a year before your anticipated installation. Spring and summer is the busy season for pool contractors, which impacts their availability as projects are typically booked for several weeks if not months.
