Renewal By Andersen

Everything was perfect. They finished sooner than they originally thought. The installers were very professional. They answered all of my questions. They cleaned up immaculately. The house looks the way it did when they arrived both inside and out. They discussed everything with me prior to the work and explained things effectively. The experience was fantastic!

The product is very nice. I enjoy the windows. However, the installation was terrible. I would never recommend their services for anything. The window was ordered wrong twice. When the order came in the second time it did not have all the right parts. Then they rushed the order again. The back windows were installed terribly. They had to return to do more work. It took about two and half months for the windows to come in. I had to choose them because they offer windows with blinds inside.

They came when promised. Their price was as quoted. They showed me how the windows were going to be stained and left a sample behind. They were stained exactly how they said they would be. I used Andersen windows in the past. I called them because the windows we had originally were Andersen windows. About ten years ago the windows started to leak. I called to discuss the leak and they stated those specific windows were on recall. They later came in and replaced all the windows for free.

They did exactly what they said they would do. They completed the work and cleaned up well.

They came almost on the dot that they told us. There were very efficient and neat. Our home was built in the late sixties and they were very careful to keep us safe, They made sure no dust or debris landed in our home. They cautioned us to stay in the lower level while they went about their work, They finished the work in several hours and left everything tidy. We were both very pleased.

We have tried to work with Renewal by Andersen to resolve this matter but the problem still exists. In December of 2010 we had 14 replacement windows installed by Renewal by Andersen. It wasn?t until a few months later when we had a few hard rain showers that we found water pouring in through the window in our kitchen. We notified Renewal by Andersen and after approximately the third try, they sent someone out. Scott caulked the top outside of the window and said that should help. It did slow the amount of water that was getting in. However, the water was still getting in but was behind the woodwork, the wall and under the floor. There is now mold growing behind the woodwork and under the vinyl floor. I went to the Renewal by Andersen showroom and asked again that someone fix this ongoing problem and told them of the damage that has been done. They again sent Scott out who then said that he would come back another day and conduct a water test to see where the water was coming in. Scott and another person (can?t remember his name) came out and witnessed the water coming in between the two windows that they installed. Scott said yes water is coming in but it is from the siding. I told him that we had never had a problem until the window was installed. He asked us to have a siding person check the problem. We had two separate contractors look at the problem and both said that the problem was in the way that the window was installed. They said it was not hard to fix but that a flashing should have been installed above the window to direct water away from it. When I told this to Scott on yet another visit to the showroom, he said that the siding installers should have put the flashing on. I explained that the siding has been up for years and that the previous window did not leak. I told him that I did not feel like it was the window itself but the installation. He said that I shouldn?t have chosen that installation. I found this absurd because I didn?t have a choice in the installation. That was their job! He still insists that it is the siding. There were two windows installed in one large opening in our kitchen. A one inch board was shoved between the two windows to hold them in place and then a piece of wood was placed over that to give it a finished look. The water comes in between the two windows and directly down that piece of wood. I don?t care if the water is coming down the siding or straight at the window, water should not be able to get between the windows. We have no other choice than to have someone out to fix this problem at our expense. Although there is a 2 year warranty on the installation, Renewal by Andersen refuses to honor it.

They were very professional. They did a good job. Their price is a little expensive.

So far, the workmanship and the quality of the product have been very good, if not excellent. However, we were told that if we referred a new customer to them, we’d get a certain amount of money per customer. The amount that my husband and I both understood that they told us was different than what they sent us. We didn’t have anything in writing, so we couldn’t dispute that, but that was the only negative thing about our experience with them. I’d suggest getting that sort of statement in writing.

Overall, the experience was good. The work was done about three years ago, and I haven’t had any problems.

I’ve been very pleased with the windows. I was also pleased with the salesman and his flexibility and creativity that he brought with the solutions we ultimately came up with. The installation went very well, too. There were some warranty issues related to the initial installation, but Renewal by Andersen was good about honoring the terms for their warranty. Two years later, they installed windows on the second floor. I was very satisfied with that entire process too, from the estimate to the installation. I did receive competitive quotes and selected them not because they were the lowest, but because I feel they have they provided the best value for the long-term.

They were great overall! The employee that I worked with was incredibly friendly, responsive, and was able to set up an appointment with me right away. He was able to explain why his product was good, and his prices were competitive. For the quality product, the price was definitely reasonable (and I looked everywhere!) His customer service was phenomenal. The installation went very well and it was a pleasure working with them! I would definitely recommend them.

The experience was great overall. They were willing to work with us and give us the time to do our research on other companies. Once we ordered the windows, they were very professional and installed all 32 windows in one day!

The salespeople at the Louisville office were very professional, courteous, and knowledgable. We chose to go with another company because of the way the window mechanisms worked, and because of the materials used - however, I would completely trust these salespeople had I been comfortable with the products they represented.

The service begins with in-home consultation where the salesperson reviews your project and explains the various types of products they offer. Next, they walk through, in detail, the installation process; from the multiple measurements they take to ensure proper fit, to the clean up and finish of the job. I can confidently state the experience was exactly as described. Our home is a builder spec home built in mid-2000's, and where the builders typically use the least expensive windows they can get away with. Windows are one of the most expensive items when building a home; I know from when I built my own home years ago and had 31 windows installed. Process started within initial measurements by salesperson, and our selection of window type, screening, hardware, glass type and mullion design (grill design). They offer many options depending on the style you want or the style of your home. Next, within a day you receive a quote for the windows. Once you decide to purchase, RBA will send another person out to take exact measurements - remembering the old saying...'measure twice, cut once". Their install timeline runs about 4-6 weeks depending on time of year and how much work you have done. RAB's install crews are all company employees - no outside contractors. Once the crew arrived (4 men), first thing done was to measure the window openings again to confirm they had the correct windows before beginning the installation process. Anytime they were inside they wore those foot coverings. Once confirmed, the crew split into 2 crews of 2 and worked separately. They were clean, efficient, polite, and somewhat humorous between themselves and my wife and I; made the work more fun for them I suppose - was ok with us. They do a nice job of removing your window hardware (blind mounts for us) as well as taking great care of trim work. For these installs no inside moldings were removed; left it in great untouched state. On the outside they do a thorough job of calking and replacing any siding trim around window if needed. In our case most windows replaced in brick openings, but one was in a vinyl siding opening, and they trim work completed was well done. They look great installed. Once complete, they go around and do a thorough clean up. That includes removing any debris from inside and outside the home. Remove window protection film, and clean windows inside and out; install screens. Last step was to give us a demo of opening and closing the window, locking mechanism, as well as how to flip them in for cleaning. Perfect! We had previous had two sets of French doors installed by RAB, and since they did such a great job we decided to go with them again. Understand, however, that the windows are not inexpensive. They have various grades of windows, so you can likely find something within your budget. I believe the quality is there to justify the expense. I've, also, noticed these windows make the house quieter.

We were very pleased with their response and the fix so far.

I rate them high overall. They were very good and prompt. Their price was right. The windows they put were oriel type instead of sliding doors. The price was for removal of the yellow pane and installing new one. I think they were reasonable for the work they did. These windows were very large. I would recommend them to others. They were professional and punctual.

Contacted this company and the saleman kept his appointment. During his visit with me he asked to see the bids I had obtained from the other companies, gave very disparaging remarks about them and even went so far as to allege the owner of one of his competitors had used their company when they bought replacement windows. He did not bring a sample of the window so I made an appointment to go to the showroom on Friday and met him there. I was impressed with the product but another company gave me a much more competitive bid so I decided to go with them. The next week (Tuesday) the salesman called and I was in the middle of getting ready to go out of town and when he identified who he was, I knew he was calling to see if I had made a decision. I quickly told him that I had decided to go with someone else. He then said, "Thanks for calling" in a very sarcastic manner and hung up. While I did like their ;product, I found this man to be very rude and thought his tactics were a little over the top. When he called and acted the way he did when he found out he did not get the sale, I knew that I had made the right decision.

I had the company out to replace my windows in four individual jobs due to the size of the project and cost. Each project went off without a hitch. No surprises, no problems, and the delivered exactly what was promised. The work crews were all professional, friendly, and courteous. They left my house and yard clean and the window look great. The cost was on par with the other higher-end window companies.

They did the work all in one day. They didn’t cover up all of the furniture and they didn’t move it all away from the windows like they said they were going to. Things got saw dust and I had to go back and clean once they were done. They were responsive and they answered all of my questions while they were working. I guess I should have asked them to put down drop clothes but I didn’t. I think they were in a hurry to get it done.

The owner Jay is very knowledgeable and they provide a quality product.

We spent $6,000 on that work. They were wonderful and did an excellent job. The gentleman who installed the windows was just excellent and I can’t say enough about them. They were very good, prompt and did not make a big mess or anything. I was expecting to see a huge mess, but there was nothing at all. They were expensive, but were good.

I did not choose this company to install my replacement windows, but I had a very good experience with them and would recommend their consideration for anyone searching for a contractor in this category. I met with their sales representative, who was very thorough, thoughtful, and patient. He provided an estimate that was comparable to others' estimates in price. I think they would have done a good job. I chose another company based on the length of warranty of the replacement windows compared to that offered by Andersen.

This is a house that was built in 1913. It is frame with aluminum siding. The windows were measured and ordered with a time frame of 4 weeks for manufacture and delivery. The windows were ordered and installed on 2 dates in the Fall of 2009. Eight were installed on Dec 7, 2009. We ordered 3 in Sept 2009 and liked them so much we ordered 8 more which were installed on Dec 7, 2009. The work was well done. New aluminum frame wrap was installed on the outside that matched the original. These are expensive windows but are priced competively with Pella and Marvin who make similar fiberglass composite windows. We plan to order several more to complete the house in early 2010. I watched enough of the installation that I was satisfied that they were doing quality work. I read about installation prior and was satisfied that proper caulking and insulation of the window frame was being done. watched
