Description of Work: Installed a privacy fence in our backyard. There were numerous miscommunications between the quoted work and getting the job done. They had to come out several times to 'fix' shortcomings in the work and we were to have a metal framed gate and it took at least a month to get that hung. The work was finally done satisfactorily, but would not recommend due to the communication difficulty between the quote person, workers and ultimately someone to take ownership of installation issues. It's a lot of money to have to argue over workmanship.

Description of Work: Had a chain link fence replaced.They were supposed to come Friday May 29th, they showed up, but they were supposed to call us two days in advance so we could ask our neighbor to put his dog up for the day. The office said it was their fault, they forgot to call. Rescheduled for Monday June 1st, and the installers were on time, it was raining when they started. I figured they would quit when it rained harder, but they kept working! They did stop for an hour or so, but when the rain stopped they started working again. The installers did a wonderful job, and I do appreciate them doing the side (where the dog was contained in a cage)first. They also cleaned up, and hauled off the old fence, poles, etc. Great job! |

Description of Work: I had three contractors bid on this job, 1 local and two from Angie's List. Metro was extremely flexible and very responsive. They provided a quote in a timely manner and it was detailed. I chose to use the middle bid, Metro was the highest. I would definitely recommend them and will contact them again if a need arises.

+ -1 moreThey gave a very competitive quote for the work and their salesman was much more detailed and helpful in describing the work than the other companies from whom I solicited quotes. Similarly the workmen who removed the old fence and installed the posts were courteous, did a good job and explained things carefully. There was then a long delay before the work was completed due to bad weather and the holiday and I was out of town when the job was completed. But the work looks excellent and the garden was left in good condition.
Description of Work: Removed an old fence and installed a new "dog ear" treated pine fence and posts at the end of my garden and a small section of fence between my house and an adjoining property.

They were very reliable and I checked with them again and it could not be waived. They were very responsive. Definitely, I probably would go to them first if I needed to get an estimate again.
Description of Work: I used the services of Metro Fence Industries Inc. to get a quote to put up fence in the backyard. I did not go with them but I would have. The price was like a $200 difference that was why I did not use them. Had I used them I would have had the fence a lot sooner. They came out on the 6th of September to provide the estimate. The quote was for $2220.

+ -1 moreI was very impressed with the work performed. The fencing was surrounding a courtyard with underground electric and irrigation. The workers went to great length not to damage anything, including the landscaping. Having used another local fence company previously and being extremely disappointed, it was so nice to hire real professionals this time. I was so impressed with the supervisor, who wouldn't leave until practically every piece of dirt had been raked up. I was also impressed when the owner came out after completion to inspect the work. Great company!

They were perfectionists and always asked if we were happy with everything every step of the way during construction. We have since hired them again (Jan '11) to build another fenced enclosure for our dogs. We would highly recommend Metro Fence to anyone!

+ -1 moreOverall experience was very good. The removal of the chainlink fence and installation of the posts was done in about 4 hours. They used 4x4 posts for the fence and a couple of impressive 6x6 posts for the gate (very solid!). Getting the actual rails and pickets started took longer than we had hoped, but we believe Metro was very busy at the time which is understandable. We are very happy with our new fence and would definitely recommend Metro to anyone!
Description of Work: We solicited 3 fence companies for quotes and chose Metro. We needed to have about 30' of chainlink fence removed and replaced with a wood, 4' picket fence. We also needed another approx. 30' of picket fence and a gate installed on the opposite side of the yard. Metro was in the middle on pricing, but came out on top for overall experience and expected quality, so we went with them.

+ -1 moreI was pretty pleased with what they did. It took them a couple of days to get out here and get started but overall they did a pretty good job. I have noticed a couple of boards are not spaced quite evenly. Overall I think the fence looks good. They had the best price.

+ -1 moreJim Parrish described exactly what they would do, how fence would be built, gave very good advice on how to incorporate the existing chain link fence on the backside. I needed 24 hrs notice because neighbor's dogs needed to be put inside and that was messed up, but they went the extra mile by putting up temporary chain link fencing to accomodate those dogs at no extra charge to me. I was very impressed with the way they built the main gate. I've had several comments from others as to how well it was constructed.

I need my fence up by a certain date and they had it up in time. They were very nice to work with. I would recommend them to anyone. Great job and the fence looks great!

I MET WITH ONE OF THE OWNERS THAT CAME OUT BEFORE TO TALK TO US, HE WAS GREAT. I DIDN'T MEET THE WORKERS BUT MY HUSBAND DIDN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT THEM. THEY DID A GOOD JOB.
