They removed the trees without damaging the surrounding homes. They have also provided a free service to our home owners association. They identify all the trees that have problems with emerald green borer. I found their service to be excellent! I have used many other companies and they are not comparable to Limbwalker.
Description of Work: They removed seven trees. They have treated several of my Ash trees for emerald green borer. They have also trimmed several of my trees and treated a couple of tree for root problems.

These guys are great. They got here early on 2/14 and began the task of taking down a beautiful but, unfortunately, large dying oak tree. I asked them for some of the wood to use for the fireplace and to make carvings and they left a lot of beautiful wood. They were done later that afternoon and I had two large piles of wood, including the main trunk. A few days later they came back and ground the stump and a few days after that they were back, again, and removed the chips, replaced it with topsoil and planted grass seed in areas where their equipment had been. I always use them for any tree service and will highly recommend them to anyone that may need their service.
Description of Work: Removed 30" declining Oak tree. Ground the remaining stump. Hauled away the chips and replaced with topsoil.

When they came out to give up our estimate, they broke it down by tree and gave their recommendations. We thought we had to have a tree removed, but Limbwalkers informed us that it just needed to be trimmed back. They came out the first day to just trim the trees in the backyard. A couple weeks later after the crane operator was back from vacation, they brought the crane to remove the tree from the front yard. About two days later the stump was ground with the grindings left for us. At the end of each day everything was cleaned up.
Description of Work: We had one tree removed from the front yard with the stump ground. We also had 3 trees in the backyard trimmed up to 12 feet, including one that was very close to the house.

Excellent experience. Responded to our request for service promptly. Sent estimator to house on time, with advance call as to arrival. Listened to what we needed. Offered counseling on what we should and should not do, with clear answers to our follow up questions. Provided an itemized proposal from which we could choose services to be performed. Communicated promptly via email. Work crews arrived as scheduled and as promised. Work performed efficiently. Excellent clean up afterwards (holes filled - heavy debris raked - lighter debris blown).
Description of Work: Removal of one 40 foot mulberry, with stump ground out, and hole then filled. One 40 foot river birch (four leads) trimmed away from house (and dead wood removed). Thirty foot of honey suckle, etc. cleared from fence line.

Tree planting: The tree planting services were carried out by the ever professional staff at LW. All of their staff are very knowledgeable about trees and shrubs and they have degrees to prove it. Stephan was assigned as the project manager for both of our projects. He surveyed the yard and recommended appropriate trees based on the needs we expressed as well as the soil condition and KY climate. We had no idea that so many factors dictated the right tree for a given area. He gave us several choices and had us pick what we liked. Stephan explained their sourcing process as well as their planting procedures which is unique in that they use an air gun to plant trees as opposed to the traditional digging. When the trees were planted they secured them and provided watering bags and instructed us on watering procedure. It was a pleasant experience working with Stephan and his crew. All but one tree have done well. This fall, LW will replace the tree which did not make it. Organic Lawncare service: Our yard is on a slope and the grass gets the brunt of the heat from the sun and the street. Since our house was one of the last ones to be built, we pretty much got all the garbage as fill-in for the yard. Given the poor condition of the soil, the grass was in poor state. We had previously tried several traditional lawn care companies and were not happy because the grass condition did not improve and we always smelled the chemicals for several days after the lawn treatment. When Stephan mentioned about a new organic lawn care program they were considering offering, we decided to try it out for 2012. It has made a big difference to the grass. Mid-year we also installed a sprinkler system to compensate for the watering deficiencies and it has enhanced the look of the yard. The organic lawn care is a unique program and LW employs Bio-T coupled with environmentally-friendly control agents to keep weeds at bay and provide nutrition to grass. This has proven very effective on our yard. Our grass looks greener and fuller compared to the previous two seasons. Needless to say we are continuing with the program. Overall, Limbwalker is a great service organization. The staff are heavily invested in the trade and are highly professional. It does translate to a slightly higher cost in service but it is justified considering the staff that does the work. I prefer giving an A- if possible for price.
Description of Work: There were two separate services included in the work 1) We had LW plant five trees on our property between 2011-2012 and 2) We elected to try their organic lawn care program starting January 2012.

During a storm earlier this week we had a very tall tree fall down in our back yard. Limbwalker came and did an estimate the day after I called. Then they did the service within another 4 days. We had them remove the fallen tree and then also haul away a large amount of old logs that a previous owner had thrown down our hillside. The work was done quickly and there remains almost no evidence that they did the work other than the tree and logs are gone. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. I absolutely will use their services again when we need tree work.

Appointment was made in timely manner; work accomplished morning of appointment; 3 men, drizzly day, working dilegently. They do not use crane trucks, but do pruning by climbing. The path between downed trees to chipper and truck was laid with large padding squares. This also served to prevent any lawn damage from the small tractor that was needed to haul the large cut pieces of the trees. Everything went smoothly. Everything was totally tidied up when the work was done, not a twig left lying on the ground from the pruning. This is one absolutely fantastic outfit!! We have used Limbwalkers on several occassions in the past and would NEVER think of calling anybody else for advice or help with a tree problem. Their deep appreciation of trees is so evident. Truly a super team, a super business.
Description of Work: After a storm with high winds, we had a huge old wild cherry tree that fell, taking out another tree and a section of our fence. We also needed some broken hanging branches pruned out of another tree in another area of our yard. At our request, Limbwalkers cut and stacked some decent sized pieces of wood for firewood for us.

Although I never set eyes on anyone, the work was done very well. They came out and took a look, and sent me an estimate via email. They followed up to confirm that the quote described the work that I wanted to have done. They came to do the work during the day while I was at work, and when I got home you would never have known anyone was there except that the tree looked much better. I felt like the price was fair (not a steal, but a good price for the quality of work that I received). Thanks!

Went great, did what we agreeded to and the price was more than fair. Their customer service is outstanding.
Description of Work: Asked Limbwalker to consult and provide care/service for 4 Bradford Pear trees. They sent an Arborist out to discuss all issues with me. They spent over an hour at my home going over in detail the particulars with my trees, how they "interact" with my house and other surroundings, landscaping, etc. I asked 2 other tree service companies to come out and give estimates and discuss their recommendations, and just got phone meetings. Limbwalker provided the best options and price to actually do what's best for the trees and not do a "slash and burn" like at least one company recommended. They were prompt, professional and even stopped to help with a FedEx delivery! I highly recommend Limbwalker.. They know their stuff.

They were actually arborist. They do tree and lawn work. They make their own variety. So I do not have unnatural things in their yard. They were after wind storms and things. People go to them in the neighborhood to cut down all the trees. They literally would do anything to save the tree. They were actual arborist. They treat things naturally and holistically as well. They were just fabulous. We have an older tree that was just lovely and so beautiful and they have worked with those too, to maintain that tree. They do repeated lawn treatments of their bio tech. As we have dogs and grandchildren we do not want nasty things on our property. They do not like to put a lot of chemicals, like things that actual harm the environment. They were very green. They were very well educated and they were wonderful to deal with. They listen to what my issues were and try to address those issues as best they can without hurting the bush or tree or whatever it was. They literally trimmed our old tree and took out the damaged parts and know what to do. We appreciate their effort.

I called shortly after the Courier-Journal reported on emerald ash borer. They were swamped, so it took a few days for someone to come out. However, when they did come, Gary took plenty of time (more than an hour) to walk around my property, look at all my trees, and offer advice. He suggested that one tulip poplar needed to come out but that the rest looked good. He identified six ash trees, measured them, and quoted a price. When I said I wanted all six treated--a couple could have been sacrificed--he offered a discount. He also told me that I could get the tulip poplar removed for a little less money if I waited until winter, which is their slow season. By the way, I liked that he is a certified arborist, not just someone who cuts down trees for a living. A technician came out a couple of weeks later and treated the ash trees with Tree-Age, which I've since learned is the best treatment on the market (99%+ effective, according to one extension service report I read). Tree-Age is injected into the base of each tree. The only indication is a ring of tiny plugs, smaller than a pencil eraser, around the base of each tree. The trees will need to be treated again every two years until the emerald ash borer infestation dies down (10-15 years, I think I heard). A side note: If you have ash trees, get them treated! From what I've read, emerald ash borer is basically 100% fatal, and home remedies are far less effective than having a professional do the job. Although treating trees can be expensive, removing them will cost you a lot more.
Description of Work: I had Limbwalker survey all my trees (about 30 of them) for any issues and treat six ash trees for emerald ash borer.

They are highly competent. They use a professional arborist. a certified arborist evaluates the trees. Because they use them they are competitive with others that use them also. Not all tree services have that. hey may have tree trimmers but not certified arborists. They are just excellent. I will use them again. They are amazing.

Outstanding! They were very professional and made sure you were completely happy with the work and that it is what was best for the tree's health/ Very green operating practices. No cherry pickers here. They truly are limbwalkers as they climb the trees and cut a lot of branches with a handsaw. They do use chainsaws for the bigger branches and of course the chipper, but I was very impressed. They will be my first choice for any tree work without a doubt!

I was most impressed with the workers, who came out and did the work. They were very and unfailingly nice. They did an excellent job. They gave me some good advice on the tree. Gary gave us an estimate of the cost to do the work we were requiring and did not pressure us into any unnecessary additional work. He gave us suggestions as to things that we could do and about how much it would cost. He estimated time and materials for a two man crew as he felt that would be the most cost effective way for us to have the work done. Our two man crew (Greg and Greg) called us when they were on the way to our home. They were friendly, courteous and did a fabulous job! We had asked that they only trim a certain amount before proceeding and they respected our wishes and our trees looks fabulous! Greg was kind and had a great attitude and we could not have been more pleased with the work that both Gregs did! Our yard is beautiful because our trees look amazing! We built our home 14 years ago and this was the first time we needed a service like Limbwalkers as our trees were in need of trimming and had grown to large for us to do it ourselves. I went to Angie's List to find a reputable company and Limbwalkers had a great rating and the reviews were great as well. I would highly recommend this company! They even had the person in their office call a few days later (before we were billed) to make sure we were pleased with their service! That's true customer service and that is difficult to find in most companies! Way to go Limbwalkers!
Description of Work: Limbwalkers spent about two hours trimming and removing dead and damaged limbs from our Oak and Evergreen trees.
