 + -1 moreIt is a shame that lack of communication has given such a bad perception of this company. If they have so much business that they can't take on more, they should tell that to potential customers instead of leaving them hanging. I will not call them in the future.
Description of Work: Called company in April to get estimate on treating two large ash trees for the emerald ash borer. The ash borer has been spotted in the area and I did not want to loose my trees. Gary Murphy came out a couple of weeks after the call and looked at my ash trees as well as a large elm that needed some trimming. He came out unannounced and it was just luck that I was home. He was very polite and seemed to be very knowledgable about the trees. He took notes on what I needed done. He left his card and an envelope and said he would mail the actual estimate and then I could choose what work I wanted to be done and it would be scheduled. His card says he is a certified arborist. After not hearing from him for about three weeks, I called the company and spoke with a very nice person who said they would remind him and I should hear something in the next few days. Another month went by and I again called in early June to ask what the problem was. The person in the office said they would take take of it personally. I have never heard back from them. I am writing this on June 23.

 + -1 moreEven though the company was swamped with business due to the recent ice storm, I received an estimate within a week of calling and the services were performed as scheduled and in a very professional manner. Several other companies did not even call me back. The price was competitive with the cost of similar services I had done over 4 years ago.
Description of Work: Pruned and removed broken limbs and stubs left from hurricane and ice storm damage in two large trees. Also thinned both trees of deadwood and raised the canopies.

 + -1 moreHave seen this company work in neighborhood. Over concrete areas will tie off limbs and lower them to the ground like handling precious glass. In yard, limbs dropped to ground leaving some deep craters. Reseeding could have been done somewhat better. These are very very minor issues compared to overall service.
Description of Work: Excellent experience. Took down 80' tree, 48" trunk dimension from land-locked backyard including grinding out of stump and leveling and reseeding of yard.

 + -1 moreLimbwalker is an excellent company. They came out on the exact date and time promised, and provided additional trimming free of charge as a courtesy to us. Given our horrible experience with Matt Schulten at the Tree Doctor (see my review), Limbwalker was a breath of fresh air. They were professional, courteous, and clean. I would definitely use them again!

 + -1 moreexcellent! arrived on time; work began immediately without a break until all was done. trees were climbed, no bucket trucks used, even the small debris from the work was blown off of the drive and walk after all was done. these guys are talented! the long wait was because of the amount of work they were booked up to do after this storm. We did not mind.
Description of Work: tree damage from the ice storm; lots of broken limbs hanging from trees as well as on the ground; 2 trees needing to be cut down; a lot of yard debris to be removed and chipped up.

 + -1 moreI asked for an estimate a year ago, but didn't get the work done at that time. I called back a year later, estimate was nearly the same. They were very busy because of much storm damage in September, so the appointment for the work was about a month away. They were here on date promised, and the crew worked hard all day. All requested work was done. I was impressed with their teamwork and with the finished job. I received a phone call the next day asking for my feedback -- whether or not I was satisfied with the job. I did not mention the lawn damage, but the caller did, assuring me that it would be repaired. When one of the arborists came back to take care of the tree stump, he did fix the lawn area.
Description of Work: Pruned 3 large trees (Pine oak, two Maples), pruned trees several feet above roof, removed dead tree, cabled a double trunk pine, cleaned up all debris, leaving lawn cleaner than when they arrived. Came back second day to reseed area beside drive (truck got stuck in mud) and to chip out tree stump.

 + -1 moreThey certainly were responsive when I called them. I talked to a very pleasant person in the office when I called them. The next day a gentleman called me and set up a time to come out and look at the work. I'd already had one conversation with another tree service who said our job was too big for them. This did not seem to be a problem for Limbwalker at all. A gentleman by the name of Corey came out, looked at the trees and hooked me up with a bid on the spot. There was certainly no pressure to do anything with them immediately, and I subsequently signed with them to have them do the work. I think any experience that you have like that relates to personality -- the friendliness and helpfulness that is expressed by the vendor -- and certainly I received that from them. They were pleasant, nice, courteous, and I had no problems letting him come into my house. They were extremely professional.

I selected them from the phone book (really nice looking ad!) and after speaking with the nice office person, scheduled an estimate to have several trees trimmed last year. I also got a couple of other estimates from local companies, but after meeting with Cory and seeing his price, I chose Limbwalkers to do the work. Not only did they do a perfect job, they were very clean and respectful, careful with our plants and smaller trees and skilled at trimming large branches from tall, old trees. They also suggested some things that were better ideas than what I had thought I wanted. Sadly, I stood my ground about keeping one particular limb that they strongly suggested removing and I have regretted my decision ever since - I should have listened! Even though they ended up doing a little more than they had planned on, it didn't change the amount he had quoted and I really appreciated that. When they left, there was not a leaf on the ground. Nice young men who do excellent work - doesn't get any better than that!

 + -1 moreThey showed up on time, gave me the estimate which was lower than I had expected, shredded the branches and cleaned up after. They were very genial and efficient. I will definately use them for all of my tree services in the future.
Description of Work: I had just cut branches off our 2 corkscrew willows in the back trying to get them off the roof. I was trying to decide how to get rid of all the branches and thought about renting a chipper from a home improvement store, although they wanted a lot of money for it. It was then that my neighbor called and said he saw a tree service company with a truck and chipper just around the corner. I went over and asked if they could stop by and just pick up and shred the branches. They indicated they were on a tight schedule and really didn't have time. I told them I would drag them to the street in front of my house and they agreed to stop by in about 35 to 45 minutes.

 + -1 moreWe scheduled a consultation meeting and were given a very competitive quote, compared with the others we received. The arrived on time and completed the work exactly as agreed upon. They were finished within two hours and the bill was exactly what was estimated. In addition, they are certified Arborist and are very knowledgeable. This was important because we have a number of trees on our property. We were looking for a company that knew about tree care as well as tree removal and were very happy with our choice. These are great folks and we recommend them for tree service in the Louisville area.
Description of Work: We had an 80-year-old hickory tree cut down. The guys climbed the tree using a rope system and cut it down in pieces. Of all the companies we contacted, they were the only ones that agreed to cut the tree down without using heavy equipment like a crane or bucket truck. This was particularly important to us because we didn't want any damage to our yard/grass. It was an excellent job.
