I was very satisfied with my interaction with them. They were very professional and the arborist knew what he was talking about. He identified all the trees on my property, since I did not know what they were. They gave me a competitive quote. They were 5 minutes early when they came out to give me the estimate.

They send out an arborist to consult and make an estimate of the work needed and the cost. They schedule to do the work promptly. They send a team of skilled workers, who do the work carefully and safely. After the work is done they mailed out a bill (which was the same as the estimate) All of the employees that I meet were professional and friendly
Description of Work: Trimmed dangerous limbs. Removed dying trees, installed wire to support two major vertical limbs in danger of splitting. What I like about this group of people is that they are knowledgable about trees understand the value of trees. The are concerned about ecology. Some people only know how to cut trees down and that's all.

Limbwalker provided excellant service. A certified arborist came to perform the estimate and he also gave me a brief lesson on all the different trees in our yard. He was a great source of information. The crew that performed the work was on-time, very timely, and very clean. When I got home from work you couldn;t even tell they had been there except for the fact that the two trees were gone and my roof didn't have limbs on it anymore. They left no trace of their very debris heavy work.
Description of Work: Limbwalker pruned some trees back from my roof, removed two large dead trees, and ground down one stump.

We got three estimates for have the tree cut down. Two of the estimates were from Angies list. This company had the lowest bid. We made an appointment. On appt. day they arrived right on time and went straight to work. Anything extra they needed they would ask us first. Two men went to work taking the tree down and the third went to work with all the other small trimmings. When they were finished everything was cleaned up close to original as possible. ( A very large branch off this tree had already fallen in a neighbors yard of which the neighbor cleaned up but the tree sevice needed to get into the yard to take down the rest of the tree) I contacted the neighbor for permission to come into the yard. When they were done the neighbors yard was cleaned. They cleaned to the point of every little twig and leaf was picked up. Very Professional. Would hire again and recommend to all. C Indzers

In my initial report, on the work done in 2008, I wrote: It was excellent service. Their arborist knew exactly what to do and they were very professional. They came and did the work quickly all in one day and they were very responsive. We were very satisfied with the price we paid. I have used them again and I do recommend them to others. A different arborist estimated the work this time. He was just as competent, and honest - said the fixed price they quoted me in 2008 had been a little high, because they were able to finish faster than expected. He suggested I contract for an hourly rate this time; I did, and paid less than I had expected. The crew again arrived exactly when promised, and did the work quickly and well, even though it had rained heavily the night before and the steep slope on which they had to work was muddy and slippery. Their climber, besides removing the unsightly dead branches I had pointed out, found several others and removed those. In one case, I needed a dead branch cut in a particular way, to leave enough of it to let me keep hanging bird feeders from it. The climber hung over the branch and patiently cut it away piece by piece until I was satisfied. After finishing, they cleaned up and even blew off our patio, which they hadn't actually messed up. Our wooded back yard looks much better.
Description of Work: My initial report dealt with work Limbwalker did for me in October, 2008. At that time, they did an extensive trimming of 4 trees and they removed 1 dead tree and 1 small live tree. I had asked for a few other special things to be done too. The trees they trimmed have flourished. The price, $1,500, seemed entirely fair to me. Limbwalker did another job for me on October 27 of this year (2011). They removed a lot of dead wood from 5 trees, cut back a heavy growth of ivy from one, cut up a large fallen tree and removed one small tree. For this job, we'd agreed on an hourly rate of $270 for a 3-man crew, and the final charge of $1,080 was under estimate. I thought it was fair.

I met with Chris and explained what I wanted. He offered suggestions and listened to my needs. A written quote was given to me on the spot. The work was performed soon after I signed the quote and faxed it back. I did not have to be there when the work was performed. Chris made sure he supervised the work himself. Everything was performed exactly as quoted and described.

It was great. Free estimate, they worked well with Audubon Park to make sure all necessary insurance paperwork had been submitted, they were on time, professional, and to the extent possible, cleaned up after themselves. Three different crews worked on our property (a three-person crew removed the tree, a one-man crew ground the stump, and a one-man crew did the airknifing). Each person obviously cared about the trees and took pride in their work. Also, the remote-controlled stump grinder is totally rad.
Description of Work: They removed a 30' maple tree and ground the stump. ($2,050 with Angie's List coupon) They airknifed a Japanese Maple, aerated the roots, performed root collar excavation, severed girdling roots, and extended the mulch bed 6", and composted the bed. ($155)

We bought a house that was built in the late 50's they had planted a silver maple right next to the house and it caused the retaining wall to fall over and that's why we wanted to get that tree removed. There was also a 1/2 rotten tree that was growing out of a stone tier shelf like retainer (I'm a new home owner, I don't know the technical terms for things yet) right next to the street. I called to get an estimate for several trees throughout the yard. Cory did a spectacular job of describing the different options for removal, he even suggested treating a tree with root collar & girdling root issues. Once we committed to the trees we wanted removed they came out to remove the trees the next day and to grind the stumps the day after that! We are very pleased with the work done. You never would have known they were there they did such a neat job, minimal tire marks from the grinder and that was it!

What can I add to the twenty-eight previous recommendations? You know what most of these guys do when they aren't climbing trees for money? They climb trees for fun. Seriously. They are awesome.
Description of Work: They took out what I thought were about seven mulberry trees (they said two multi-branched) from a tight spot against my neighbor's fence, did a beauty makeover on a tree in the front yard, took out a huge bush, trimmed a small maple. They even cleaned up the mess I made trying to hack some of the ugly off the red bud tree myself.

Limbwalkers were very prompt when I contacted them by phone. In fact, I left a message over the weekend, and my call was returned at 9:00 Monday morning--by a gentleman who was standing in front of my house! I had two large evergreen trees in my front yard, and had a lot of questions as a new homeowner. They answered all of my questions thoroughly, and patiently explained all of my options. They left an estimate for the different options in my door jam; since I was in the midst of the 'off season', I was given a discount, and decided to go ahead with removal. I called and scheduled the removal the following week, and was instructed to call LG&E to coordinate the lines cut. As a side note, when I spoke to the representative at LG&E she said "Oh, Limbwalkers! They rescued one of our guys over the summer--they are the best!" On the day of the removal, LG&E contractors had been contacted by Limbwalkers, and were at our front door around 7:30. Limbwalkers arrived very promptly at 8:00am just as indicated. They brought a flat bed truck, a truck with a bucket/arm, and another trunk with a huge wood chipper attached. I was not on site during the removal, but according to my neighbor they very skillfully attached equipment to the top of the tree and took a chainsaw to the base. They lifted the tree straight up and away from power lines and our house (one tree was literally growing two feet from our porch) directly into the chipper. Everything was done and completely cleaned up in an hour and half! I received a call later that afternoon, and the gentleman went out and ground one of the stumps completely. The other stump was left, but only 6 or 8 inches were above ground! Overall a fabulous experience. I will be recommending to friends and family.

This work was generated from three sources; Hurricane Ike, the winter ice storm, and a forest consultation. Due to the fact that we were undecided about how much wood would be removed completely from the property, an hourly rate was proposed and accepted. Limbwalker brought a crew of 6, with a full complement of equipment, on the scheduled date. From my observation, they were very thorough in their initial assessment of the work to be done and in the subsequent job assignments. Safety was stressed at all times. There was continuous discussion concerning the technical aspects of individual tasks. Some of this appeared to be an ongoing training process and some was a discussion of alternative methods. At all times, work was continued at a good pace, with a purpose. The crew took care of things that we had not noticed, and also took on some unscheduled tasks. We were very pleased with their performance and with their attention to detail.

I was concerned abut several older trees that pre-existed my house as well as some of our plantings since the house was completed. Limbwalker was very prompt about returning my call and sending out Chris for an appraisal. He was very knowledgeable and honest, telling basically that I didn't need to do anything at all. Contacted Limbwalker on Monday June 29, 2009, promised to have someone come out to provide an estimate late on the week. Estimate received and accepted on Wednesday July 1, and was told that I would receive a call the following Wednesday to schedule the work. Wednesday morning, July 8 I received a call to schedule the work for Friday morning,July 10 - this is after expecting a 3-5 week wait. The crew arrived at 8:45 AM and worked straight through until the job was completed - around 1:30 PM. The crew was friendly and professional, careful of multiple planting areas in the yard, raked up and removed all debris from the site. I am quite happy with the work and will happily use and recommend Limbwalker Tree Service in the future. Class act!
