GE HAS AN AUTOMATED SYSTEM TO SET UP APPOINTMENTS. IT WAS VERY EASY TO USE AND THE REPAIRMAN CAME WHEN PROMISED DURING THE 'SERVICE WINDOW'. HE CALLED FIRST TO MAKE SURE WE WOULD BE HOME. HE ORDERED ALL THE PARTS NEEDED AND SAID HE WOULD RETURN TO INSTALL THE NEW DOORS AFTER THEY ARRIVED AT OUR HOME. WHEN THE DOORS ARRIVED, I CALLED TO VERIFY APPOINTMENT IN THE AUTOMATED SYSTEM AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS INDEED SET UP. I CHECKED THE SYSTEM TO SEE IF HE COULD RETURN SOONER AND FINISH THE REPAIR. THE SYSTEM HAD AVAILABILITY WHEN I WANTED, SO I SET THE NEW APPOINTMENT AND EVERYTHING TURNED OUT JUST AS BEFORE. CALL CENTER, THE REPAIR, SERVICE, PROMPTNESS, AND PROFESSIONALISM WERE A+.
Description of Work: CALLED FOR REPAIR ON OUR 3 YEAR OLD SIDE/SIDE REFRIGERATOR. THE AUTO DEFROST CYCLE WASN'T RUNNING PROPERLY. WE HAD TO DEFROST THE FREEZER TWICE (THE OLD FASHIONED WAY!)SO WE CALLED FOR SERVICE. SOMETHING WAS OBVIOUSLY WRONG! REPAIRMAN CAME AND WE FOUND OUT THAT SOMETIMES OUR MODEL HAD THIS PROBLEM AND THE DOORS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED! FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO CHARGE FOR THE DOORS, ONLY THE LABOR.

GENERAL ELECTRIC TECHNICIAN WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND INFORMATIVE. THERE WERE TWO VISITS, ONE TO CHECK PROBLEM AND THE OTHER TO INSTALL A NEW ICE MAKER. THE TIME FRAME INVOLVED COULD HAVE BEEN SHORTER. OVERALL SERVICE WAS GOOD.

GE HAS GONE TO (EXPLETIVE) IN A HANDBASKET. THE FACT THAT THEY SELL YOU A SERVICE POLICY AND THEN DON'T GIVE A (EXPLETIVE) OR PERFORM SERVICE THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS. IT TOOK MORE THAN A WEEK AFTER I CALLED THE CHAIRMAN OF GE'S OFFICE TO GET SOMEONE OUT TO FINALLY FIX THE PROBLEM. I TRIED AND TRIED TO GET GE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS TO DO SOMETHING, BUT I KEPT HAVING TO WAIT A WEEK OR SO EACH TIME FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO COME OUT. FIVE VISITS.
Description of Work: THE TEMPERATURE IN MY GE SIDE BY SIDE REFRIGERATOR WAS VARYING WIDELY AND I SCHEDULED A REPAIR VISIT UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE FIRST CALL, THE GE REPAIRMAN ADJUSTED A FEW THINGS AND HAD PARTS SENT TO THE HOUSE JUST IN CASE HIS ADJUSTMENTS DIDN'T WORK. THE SHIPMENT OF PARTS WOULD ELIMINATE HAVING TO WAIT LONGER FOR PARTS IF THE ADJUSTMENT DIDN'T WORK. THE ADJUSTMENT DIDN'T WORK AND ANOTHER VISIT WAS SCHEDULED. THE NEXT VISIT WAS PERFORMED BY SADDLEBACK APPLIANCE, A GE CONTRACTOR. A MAIN BOARD WAS REPLACED. SHORTLY AFTER THE SERVICE MAN LEFT I NOTICED THE WATER DISPENSER DIDN'T WORK. I CALLED AND HE QUICKLY RETURNED AND CHANGED THE BOARD TO ANOTHER THAT WAS SENT. IT DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM EITHER. I'M RUNNING OUT OF SPACE SO LET ME JUST SAY THAT IT TOOK ANOTHER THREE WEEKS, WITH NO REFRIGERATOR, FOR GE TO COME BACK AND FIX THE PROBLEM (WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A WIRE THAT THEY FORGOT TO CUT). NEVER, NEVER, NEVER WILL I BUY ANOTHER GE APPLIANCE OR WARRANTY.

I WAS IMPRESSED WITH HOW QUICKLY THE SERVICE APPOINTMENT WAS SET UP. I USED THE WEBSITE AND IT ALL WENT SMOOTHLY. I WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITHIN 2 DAYS AND THE TECH CALLED TO VERIFY AND TO LET ME KNOW HE WAS ON HIS WAY. HE KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND SHOWED ME ALL THE PARTS TO VERIFY WHAT WAS BROKEN. IT WAS A VALVE THAT WAS NOT CLOSING THE AIR FROM THE FREEZER OFF, SO OUR FRIDGE FOOD WAS FROZEN AS WELL. HE ALSO LOOKED AT THE WATER SYSTEM AND EXPLAINED WHY THAT HAD NOT BEEN WORKING. WHEN HE LEFT THE WATER WAS FINE. HOWEVER, THE NEXT DAY THE WATER LINE SEEMED TO BE FROZEN AGAIN. I SCHEDULED ANOTHER APPOINTMENT, ANOTHER TECH CAME AND WORKED ON THAT PROBLEM (NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE). HE THAWED IT ALL OUT, ''FLUSHED IT'' AND IT WAS WORKING WHEN HE LEFT. HOWEVER, THAT WAS 3 DAYS AGO AND THE WATER IS NOT WORKING AGAIN! I HAVE SCHEDULED A THIRD APPOINTMENT AND HOPE THAT THIS TIME THE PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED ONCE AND FOR ALL.

A COUPLE OF VISITS HAD TO BE RESCHEDULED BECAUSE THE TECHNICIAN DIDN'T HAVE THE RIGHT PART OR THE GE SERVICE DEPT DID SEND THE RIGHT PART TO MY HOUSE. THEY HAVE AN AUTOMATED VOICE SYSTEM WHEN YOU CALL AND IT IS FAIRLY HARD TO GET THROUGH THE MAZE AND TALK TO A LIVE PERSON.
Description of Work: THEY CAME OUT TO FIX OUR CONVECTION OVEN/MICROWAVE. THIS APPLIANCE HAS BROKEN DOWN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM REPEATEDLY.
