Description of Work: They did a great job topping and shaping two holly trees that I had originally called them to quote. They suggested additional work on a third tree but did not do as thorough a job as expected. I believe its because they did all the work from the ground and did not use ladders so the top of the tree was not cut in proportion. They also did a minimalistic job on a hedge line to shape it up. In hindsight I would have been more specific on what specifically they were going to do so as not to leave it open to interpretation...i.e. trim back so many inches etc. All in all it was good work. |

Description of Work: I bought this Big Deal on Mar 5th, left online message for contact, no contact from provider (Danka) until Mar 10th - he left message for me to call him. I explained tree to take out was at my daughter's house in New Albany, that I was paying for his services, that, yes, it was OK to go look at the job anytime. When I had not heard back from Danka by Mar 20th, I called him. He claimed 2 unanswered calls made to me in past week and additional cost of $1,250 was needed for the job. I had no record of any calls to my phone from him after 3/10. I told Danka I had gotten 2 other estimates, both under $800, that I did not have as much as he was asking, that I had already bought $400 worth of work, for him to go cut $400 off the tree and carry it away. At that time, I had not learned that I could cancel this contract. Since he told me he would go do that work sometime this next week, I will call him Monday. It is my distinct impression that a Big Deal with this vendor is not going to save you any money, that he will charge you overage to make up for anything he loses on the Deal.

Description of Work: overall wonderful service. only glitches were small. his insurance agent was supposed to e-mail Danka's insurance license to me and never did and I called Danka after three weeks to remind him he had promised to call in two. He set a date and arrived promptly and did good work. Polite and knows his profession well.

Description of Work: He came to the house for $75.00 and inspected a tree which had been planted this spring as it never looked right and the nursery had kept telling me the problem was sun scorch and that the tree would be ok. He inspected and found the burlap and metal cage was still completely enclosing the root ball and that the dirt had covered too much (high) of the tree trunk. He indicated that the roots were being strangled as these items had not been partially removed from down the side of the root ball. Upon my request and a final additional charge of $75.00 he came to the house with 2 others and replanted the tree after removing it and cutting away the burlap and wire cage.

Description of Work: Came to house and inspected existing young tree for growth issues. Upon my call back he came back to house with 2 others and replanted the tree after removing root ball wrapping and expanded the area of loosened soil around roots.

Description of Work: Prior to purchasing my new home this summer, Joseph Danka provided an evaluation and cost estimate for what needed to be done to care for the many trees in the yard. He listed what needed to be done for safety and for the immediate care for the trees as well as his recommendations for the continued care and growth of the trees. The seller covered the cost of what was needed right away and I paid for the rest. After I moved in, Mr. Danka and his crew worked on the ten different trees as we had discussed.

Description of Work: He did a good job. My back yard is wonderful now. I had wanted a really big limb from the base of a tree that extended over the house cut down. Joseph said it could not be done this summer but he would do it in January. He did take it down along with another big limb higher up and over the road. I was quite satisfied with his work. He does give us senior citizens a 15% discount. That was what helped me to choose his service.

Description of Work: I had Joseph Danko give me an estimate on many trees on our property which he carefully itemized and prioritized in terms of what I had mentioned to him as important to me and his evaluation of health of the tree. From that list, I selected three trees to start pruning. He and another helper came and trimmed those three trees with precision and care to support the trees' growth and our needs (like pruning back from the house).
